This is exactly what I want to do this 2021. Hope it’ll be a good one

I really needed this, I’ll definitely try it out!

This is all I want - a good man or woman to be with. I may be young but I know what I want and have had enough toxic exes and crushes to know now that I deserve better, that any good person out there deserves better too!

thank you, I honestly hope I do too. I'm going through another heartbreak right now actually so it's been a bit hard

Ok i’m only 18 but as a girl who’s gotten her heart broken hundreds of times, I can say that this is an important and amazing realization I came to myself after so much rejection. Don’t waste your time on the “what ifs” and “what could’ve beens”

I’d take it as a win, you’re building your confidence, and getting only one step closer towards finding the one!

Hey, you made a big move and i’m glad you did so! Take this as a win, you were very brave and it only brings you one step closer to finding the right person!

Never had anyone linger for me, but when they do i’ll keep this in mind

I've been used multiple times by guys and gals out there, I'm still trying to get over a few shitty experiences I had where I got rejected and got the whole "I'd love to stay friends though I care about you so much" and then never heard from them again. It's extremely painful, and I'm definitely scared of going into more relationships now because I don't expect anything good to happen to me anymore. But thank you for this, I'm saving this post as a reminder to not let my fear overcome me.

Exactly!! Staying grounded in realistic expectations and respect for the other person is so important

Exactly! I think people get too caught up in the, “we’d be so perfect together we’re meant for each other, they’re mine” mindset too much when they get attracted and it can become toxic and deteriorating for both parties in the wrong situation

Now I may be a woman but this is some gold, definitely useful and helpful! Thank you!!

Yeah, it sucks but it is the way it is. I believe personality plays a huge role too, but usually people go by what they see first. Sucks because i’m a pretty average looking girl, but hey, at least I’m working on being confident and improving myself

I’m so sorry that happened to you. It sucks when you actually like someone and they aren’t really an asshole and they’re sweet to you, but their actions are shitty. I really hope you find an honest woman in the future who doesnt do that to you again. I’m still getting over my own heartbreak too, so here’s to both of us healing and finding better people!

I believe both of you make good points. Sure, it’s scientifically proven that hot people are deemed genetically superior and so hot people are attracted to one another, but I also de believe confidence (actual self-made confidence) is extremely attractive to some too. As a woman myself, i dont even care anymore about my looks being better than others that much. Sure, i’m no gigi hadid but i’m not awful either. It’s pretty bold to say all women are that arrogant

This happened to me not long ago actually. This guy kept trying to get with me and even started touching me. The moment i said no, he would guilt trip me by saying shit like “you dont think im good looking? You dont like me? I can treat you so well” etc. the worst part was, when I mentioned i have sexual assault trauma, he said “you dont have to worry about that with me” all whilst groping me. At the end of the night, I honestly felt like i was gonna get raped, but hey he crashed the car we were…

Actually in the situation i described, i was the one confessing the feelings and being honest. But I understand where your frustation comes from. Hope you find an honest and blunt woman

I dont even aim “above my league” to be honest. I’ve stopped aiming by this point

Hell yeah! I agree and honestly it is time to move on. I guess what i struggle with is feeling confident even after such awful rejection

As a female I needed to hear this. Thank you. It’s hard to move on when you catch feelings for someone who just isn’t reciprocating but in the end it’s for the best

I'm a girl and I go through the exact same thing as you do, especially since a lot of guys usually turn me down or find my advances intimidating. It's hard, I never really know what to do

oh no don't worry, it was about a different guy from months ago

I feel this too, even though i’m a girl. It hurts when you put so much energy into a person who keeps you as a “friend” yet won’t even talk to you and only really uses you, especially when you actually care about them and think you could see a future work with them.

This is so true! I didn't realize just how attractive confidence was until someone literally told me they found me unattractive because I wasn't confident in myself. Like damn, it can really affect the way someone sees you and how you two will vibe together

THIS. You have no idea how many times I've had desperate guys try the whole "hey look at me I can quote comedians so I'm funny now" Like come on, I don't care if you make me laugh like Gabriel Iglesias, I just want to see you happy, confident, and being comfortable enough around me to be yourself. It just vibes so much better.

I needed to hear this today, thank you so much. I'm still pretty young and everything, but as a girl who's had her self-confidence shattered by rejection multiple times this really feels so helpful to me. I agree that taking things one step at a time is a good way to start, confidence doesn't come overnight. I know someday I'll look back at this post and feel accomplished and thankful for it. Thank you!

I feel like this goes with guys as well, I'm 18 and female, and I tried to get with this guy who also happens to be a close friend. I kept trying, but he ended up flaking on me only to tell me later that he's seeing someone right now. It sucks but now I just want to be friends with him. I realize though that the only way to really do so is: Not being the first one to text - which sucks because I always am so now I'm leaving the ball in his court and sending memes or just making jokes - its so mu…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
