I'd always dated wonderful men, and it was my first time with a classic narc - oh I hate women, they've only ever been mean to me, I've been through such a bad childhood, it's given me trauma, blah blah. PRE-FDS, I was all about needing to fix him. I had heard stories about how badly he messed up his ex GF, but it had been four years and he said he'd changed. Fast forward six months, he turned out to be the biggest narc scrote I've ever met. Opened a splitwise account from day 1. I was all about…

This sounds lovely and I'm glad you had such a positive weekend! Might I ask, how did you provide support in that frustrating situation without minimising it? What kind of words did you use?

Yes, the children one is tough. I'm going to give it some time so there's some clarity on our move to another country. That's a big step with a lot of risks. I wouldn't say it's a dark mood all the time. He's really fun and I love being around him. He's funny and sweet and makes me laugh no end. He just has a less pretty picture of life and the world compared to me (different upbringing). The last week got a little hard, it was the first time. I also have bad PMS and my period is due anyday, so …

Thanks for responding :) That's something I'm very afraid of too. He's 26 right now. He's in an excellent field, but one he's unhappy with. We both want to emigrate out of our country, and his profession (medical) will not be valid in the country we plan to move to as well. So he says hes' just unable to give me a clear answer about kids because of how uncertain the future looks right now. He says it's easier for me to think about it as a woman, but as a man, he cannot say yes until he's sure he…

24, in a relationship from a few months, work full time; have read The Surrendered Wife, watch LD's podcasts. Gearing up to read The Surrendered Single. This is my first OYS post so I'm excited! Financials - I think I'm doing alright there. I earn very well for my age. I work some rough shifts, but the pay is good and job intellectually stimulating. I applied for a promotion recently and the interview is coming up. I've prepared, but a bit nervous. Physical - I had amazing skin all my life until…

This really touched me. He sounds like a wonderful man and I'm so happy for you. You sound so appreciative and notice the small little things, you sound amazing too. I hope to have a marriage like this someday. :)

OP, this! You sound very enamored and impressed by him, that's fine and I'm happy for you. But trust everyone else here, you can easily get impressed at that age and undersell your own worth. Please consider not moving in until he puts a ring on that finger. Or if you do, keep a short time frame - two or three months at most. Don't let him use you for a year or two only to say in the end he's unhappy with your abilities, and move on to the next girl. I hope that doesn't happen, but you don't wan…

I love Allie! Her podcast is so soothing and realistic. I'm gonna read the book you mentioned, I don't know how I haven't yet. For a reading suggestion, I loved reading Jordan Peterson's 12 rules for life. It helped me a lot during a rough time, very realistic about goals and finding structure in your life without just giving you an undeserving pat on the back.

I second this. No hormonal side effects, I love mine. Though the periods get much more painful if you already had rough periods before. That's the only drawback.

Nothing about him sounds alpha... He sounds like a guy who did too much drugs and read a few books while high. The kind that would attract rebellious teenage girls.

I agree with you on the tech thing - he didn't ask for help, so until he does, non interference is best. It's acceptable to worry about getting hacked, but I guess putting in trust that he will do his best would be better than rubbing it in that you know better. But with the running thing, I'm also at a loss. Laura hasn't really addressed a situation like this, right? OP, I'm also unsure here, but going by RPW instinct, my guess is this- Don't show him your timings unless he asks for it. If he's…

I feel the exact same way about this sub! It's taught me so much, and aside from man-woman dynamics, I think it makes me try to be a better person overall - kinder, more caring, well put together. As opposed to the so called liberal subs that are so toxic and just exist to beat you down if you don't conform to their ideas.

So happy you enjoyed her content! I have changed my clothing style drastically since starting to follow her, and a lot of her ideals had also got me admiring her for the non-fashion content too.

Follow School Of Affluence on YouTube. She's amazing, very RP and runs an elite finishing school. She has some amazing videos.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
