You're at work, you're not feeling well, all of sudden something very wrong is happening, you're in pain, and then suddenly you realize you're giving birth. No time to prepare mentally at all. Some women don't experience any common symptoms and can even continue to get periods bleeding throughout, not gain a significant amount of weight, and not get discomfort that can't be explained away by something else like heartburn for example.
