Right back at ya haha. If the mere existence of a different opinion is so intolerable to you, then you're the one who requires luck, or whatever

I don't think so. A weak scrawny man trying to beat up a big tough one would be told he got his just deserts if he was punched in the face. The weak should fear the strong, and all that. It's quite clear that sex is what's really taken into account, here

The fact that this schizo manifesto isn't universally condemned in academia is damning. It's like if some proto fascist screed from the early 20th century, ranting about racial purity and nordic giants, were accepted with at worst careful trepidation in the social sciences

I think that beyond the gender politics of the situation the initial media circus and subsequent disinterest is an indictment of the public, the media and their need for comfortable and easy to digest narratives. We are obsessed with cliched, tired old narrative and this obsession bleeds over into how we view real, multifaced people - this is the virtuous hero, the sympathetic victim, the devious villain - and those character roles each have their prescribed robes and masks. One of the masks of …

In a way, it can. Feminism is allowed spew blatantly hateful rhetoric, push unfair policy and parade long-discredited statistics while retaining not just legitimacy but a damn near wholesale immunity to reproof (I'm sure you've seen people called "misogynists" or by other such catchy terms for mere criticism of the ideology >_>). I have no doubt that the reason for this is because the movement is buttressed by this all-encompassing notion of victimhood. They claim to speak for all women, and if …

The point is to monopolize the social capital of victimhood (which in today's day and age may as well by synonymous with martyrdom). Feminists pound the drum of female oppression with the intention of imprinting upon people the heuristical notion that women are "victims" and men are "abusers". They can blather all they wish about how they are not, by some twist of language, flattening all relations of the sexes to such a level. That they are merely by choosing to hyper-focus on incidence (real o…

You and your friends might not believe in that, but that's not the message people are getting from governments, academia, people and speakers with real influence and reach. Here is just one example of male minimization from the UN. To put it another way, say you were a Christian Protestant one who is very tolerant and progressive on a number of social issues, like homosexuality. However, members of the institution with actual reach and power - pastors, evangelists, politicians, lawmakers - are t…

Feminism is a victimhood parasite that lives and dies based on how much more oppressed women are percieved to be than everyone else. Anything that defies the narratives they spin is quite literally an attack on them, hence the seemingly disproportionate reaction

It's not even that. Feminism isn't some lofty ideal from the celestial spheres unstained by the filth of the lowly material world. It's not "Women's liberation" or "The idea of equal rights" . It is a real movement, made up of real people, with actual material impact on the world, and so it is judged according to that impact. You can form some group for the preservation of European culture, you can say that it's about nothing more contentuous than the preservation of traditional arts and cuisine…

I highly doubt that many people of either sex are getting killed specifically because of their gender. The average domestic murder happens because the woman is the partner of a violent person, not because he woke up, decided to kill a woman and grabbed the nearest one at hand. Calling that misogyny is like saying that the death of every male robbery victim must have been because he was a man - how can you possibly know that?

It's dumb. Imagine if you flipped the genders: "A woman's place is in the kitchen! Offended? It's not about you! You must be one of the smart ones!" Sounds unbelievably taboo in today's climate, right? Then why is it acceptable to say it about other demographics?

Evopsych is a pseudoscience. You cannot go back in time, grab an unevolved organism and then subject it to evolutionary pressures to see if they lead to them growing this or that trait. It's educated guessing at very best

And the "funny" (as in, if you don't laugh you'll cry) thing is how skilled people are at fooling themselves into thinking this isn't true. They'll invent all sorts of flowery language and tactics to pressure men into fulfilling our traditional role. Exactly. Feminists and progressives tell men that they need to acknowledge their priviledge. They have to atone for it, they need to elevate the concerns of women over their own. This is not a rejection of traditional gender roles, it's classic chiv…

I've always found it silly that these ivory-tower "progressives" struggle to understand why dark and villainous characters are so popular. People, famous poets and artists even have been calling Lucifer the real hero of Paradise Lost for over a hundred years, for Christ's sake. In a past life, these latter day church ladies were calling Lord Byron and Edward Blake horrible blasphemers. Dangerous to society, even! Good heavens! :O

This "objectification" business is a load of crap. Where does it begin and where does it end? Are you objectifying a cashier when you use them only as a means to check out your groceries? Are parents objectifying their children when they expect them to get a respectable job instead of lazing about on heroin all day? When definitions become so broad, their only use becomes that of a perjorative, something subjectively employed to disparage your opponents, not a thing with any real explainatory po…

You argue to convince the audience, not your opponent. They won't be convinced that men aren't evil because they want to believe that they are, use them as an avatar representing all the hardships one has faced in life from sexual dissatisfaction to kids writing mean comments online. but most of this so-called "thinly-veiled misogyny" comes from the fact that the threshold for what counts as "misogyny" is much lower than what counts as "misandry". Understatement of the century there. You make a silly joke stereotyping women (like bad driving) and it's shockingly evil misogyny. I find that the word is used mostly against men who are not in any position of power. The least attractive men are NOT misogynists. Plenty of sexual abusers and misogynists have sex. I know feminists who have sex with known abusers simply because they're hot. If any misfortune befalls you, then you must have done something to deserve it. It's a kind of just world fallacy - a particularly stupid one, considering they're conflating even unattractiveness with immorality. You know, there's no end of…
