Save it. Anytime a guy posts anything about getting screwed over in life because he had some sort of maladaptive response to society’s expectations of men (e.g., being a failure with women because he can’t understand non-verbal communication, bought into treating women like princesses, etc.), poppy is first on the scene to call that guy a loser who got what he deserved for being an autist reject who couldn’t figure out the right path on his own. But all of a sudden now she wants a pity party bec…

Lol boo hoo, muh cultural expectations. Sorry you were too autistic to realize that skipping meals and taking appetite suppressants is a retarded idea, and too stupid to figure out how to eat a normal, healthy diet without taking self-destructive shortcuts.

Lol boo hoo. “It’s sooooooo hard. I can’t binge drink 3 nights a week or eat huge restaurant portions regularly.” Jesus, you realize that binge drinking is not even close to a necessity, even if the culture has normalized it, right? Same with eating heavy restaurant meals. Order a fucking piece of chicken and skip the bread. Better yet, make your own god damn dinner like everyone used to back in the day.

Can we tag this as “Female Solipsism”? Good lord, attracting men is fucking simple. We care about how physically attractive you are first and how pleasant you are second, and it’s a sliding scale where we’re willing to trade a certain amount of pleasantness in exchange for increased hotness. But make no mistake, pleasantness is a plus. It’s just not as high of a priority as hotness, and so there’s some potential for tradeoffs. It’s not at all like women, where they actually dock men points for b…

Three things stand out, all pretty lame. This should give a sense of how fucking beta I am. You'll note that none of these resulted in sex and mostly only impressed other dudes. My city has a bad problem with asshole cyclists disobeying all rules of the road. I was crossing a crosswalk on foot, with the walk sign, when a cyclist going in the perpendicular direction starts to blow through the intersection against a red light. Maternal mortality rates from C-section vs legal abortion are roughly the same. One out of every three births in the US is a C-section. Let’s not overstate the “safety” concerns. Fetuses are capable of surviving outside the womb from 21 weeks onward. So bodily autonomy is not the only consideration here, especially when it can be addressed without destroying a viable fetus.

I thought it was about not being forced to use your body to save someone else. Now it’s about not having to undergo a more invasive procedure? https://media1.tenor.com/images/83116dac5575fef19f9a39e17984e7bd/tenor.gif?itemid=9264828 You know this is a weak-ass argument. Besides, you don’t have to undergo any procedure here. This is all totally elective to begin with.

BUUUUUTTTT...I thought this was about your fundamental right not to be forced to use your body to support another human. Surely the solution I’ve proposed maintains that right, while also taking care to give a chance to see whether the thing growing inside you can survive on the outside. If this were truly about your bodily autonomy (as described above), and not your inalienable right to get raw-dogged by Chads with minimal consequences, then certainly you’d be on board with this solution. But i…

You realize that the logical conclusion of this position is that women should have the right to request a C-section delivery at any point in their pregnancy (and then take their chances with whatever comes out, whether viable or nonviable) - not the right to request a procedure that is 100% certain to destroy what’s growing in there. You wanna take that deal?

99.99% of all abortion debate is retarded. HURR MUH BODY MUH CHOICE and MUH LIFE OF POVERTY IF I HAVE THIS CHILD are just as logically flawed as MUH JESUS SAID IT’S LIFE AT CONCEPTION and MUH SEX IS FOR PROCREATION. In my circle of semi-nerdy semi-broish UMC urban professional friends I’d estimate that 100% have been to a strip club and <5% have hired a prostitute. Basically even my most uptight friends end up at an occasional bachelor party that involves a trip to the strip club. OTOH the vast majority of us are too terrified of diseases, being roofied and having our kidneys removed non-consensually, etc to mess with whores. No idea how well this generalizes to all men.

This is all personal experience, but I’m fucking terrible with women (average height and introversion being my big issues), and even still, from ages 34-37 I got pretty unambiguous interest from more girls than I had ever gotten before in my life. I’m the biggest STEMlord going, and I always enjoy crapping on horseshit fields of academic study, but to be fair, even the professors in my Ivy League chemistry Ph.D. program has plenty of time to sexually harass their grad students. Some of those dudes were sketchy as fuck. I think it’s just a universal feature of academia. Socially clueless people who can’t function in the real world (private sector) but are drunk with the extreme power they have in their little academic bubble.

No, but we’re also just talking about averages when we discuss life expectancies. It would be interesting to know what the actual survival curves look like. If that difference in life expectancy is caused by an appreciable difference in the risk of dying young, then being short just might be “superior genetics”
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 05:40 PM

Those claims are highly debatable. I’m pretty sure I could easily kick some tall doughboy’s ass, and existing research suggests height isn’t correlated with running speed.

I’m assuming ability to escape predators is a function of short to middle distance running speed. There doesn’t seem to be a hell of a lot of research literature on how height is associated with speed, but from what I can tell there doesn’t seem to be much of an association. As far as ability to physically compete, that’s where I’m getting hung up. Again, personal experience, so take it with a grain of salt, but I look healthy as fuck, I know other dudes who are my height who are healthy as fuck…

I know it correlates with status, but the other 3? More info on that?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 09:44 AM

Ok, but why? The whole premise of the OP is that tall guys get treated differently. I’m trying to understand the fundamental reason for that.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 09:44 AM
1

Interesting, and thanks for the explanation, as I wasn’t getting it so clearly from other posts discussing this same concept. This explanation is at least compatible with what I understand to be reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 09:43 AM
1

But what’s the mechanism through which height leads to (or is associated with) higher income? Without an answer to that, you’re just kind of shifting from one unanswered question to a different unanswered question.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 09:41 AM
1

That’s not it
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 09:37 AM
2

That’s my point.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 08:20 AM
1

Ok, so height is attractive insofar as it’s a marker of good nutrition? I guess I’d buy that. I still don’t quite get why it seems to dominate over the other features in this list, but maybe that’s just my perception. Above average height as a marker for not having a genetic disorder? Not sure I’m buying that. I’d think that average height would be an equally good marker, if not better (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acromegaly)
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 08:20 AM
1

Ok, so setting aside life expectancy, in what other way does height signal superior genetics? It’s not easily apparent to me, when I see Tallboy McLardass and Strech Girlyman pulling more tail than 99.9% of actually healthy dudes of average height.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 08:13 AM
0

Ok, interesting. So you’ve proposed an alternative explanation. But then why does height correlate to income? Would be interesting to see if there are cultures where height isn’t linked to status / money, and if the preference for tall dudes still persists in those cultures.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 08:10 AM
2

Ok, so I think I’m convinced that life expectancy is irrelevant as long as it exceeds a certain threshold (female reproductive age, or maybe female reproductive age + 18 years)...but then that still only puts tall dudes on equal footing with short dudes. So what’s the actual source of reproductive advantage for tall dudes? Is it strength / dominance? I argue no, but is my argument wrong? Or is there something else evolutionarily attractive that’s linked to height?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 08:06 AM
1

I actually proposed strength / dominance as the reason but then argued against it (with shaky anecdata). Perhaps you think my anecdata is bs? If so, why?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 08:00 AM
2

Ok, but then this is still kind of circular logic. Women fuck tall men more because...tall men fuck more? What’s the underlying reason?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/19 07:57 AM
2

Ok, but then if it’s not life expectancy, what is it that height is associated with that’s evolutionarily attractive? I don’t think it’s physical dominance, for reasons I’ve described above, but maybe you think that explanation is shaky? Or maybe it’s something else altogether that height signals (other than long life or physical dominance)?

Where did he claim it only includes working men? You don’t understand what labor force participation means. The gap between what you think you know and what you actually know is staggering. On this issue and pretty much everything else.

Is someone keeping women from starting their own companies, getting jobs in STEM, or becoming CEOs? Do you understand how unemployment rates are calculated, and (relatedly) the difference between employment and labor force participation? Or are you just as fucking clueless about this as about everything else you open your flan hole to opine on?

If you read the article, you’ll see the researchers constructed a mathematical model to fit the data set they were working with, and that model presumably had probability of success (messaging conditional on profile view) increasing monotonically with increasing height. If you look at the actual data (not the results from the model used to fit the data), you see that success probability for dudes starts to dip after 6’4”. So they probably should have set up the model differently, as it doesn’t r…

Long-time lurker, but this is highly relevant to me, because this happened to my wife, after a fashion. I’m a 40-year-old dude who followed the standard average-dude arc of trying to be nice to everyone and ending up stuck in a shitty marriage with the first girl to have sex w me, where I’m getting the shit end of the stick on about 8 fronts. During the course of the marriage I stumbled across some RP-adjacent web sites and got RP’ed myself when I basically saw those sites describe my situation perfectly to me. By then I didn’t have the strength to get out of the marriage, so I’m basically just bi…
