You claim these men barely cross your mind, but here you are, putting in the effort to mock the premise of the post. If the subject was truly beneath your attention, you would have ignored it. Okay so take this logic to its conclusion. The fifty or so women who have responded to you in this thread mock the premise of the post. The other 3.5 billion women who are ignoring it hardly even think about it.

Being a guy on the apps is like being in a desert looking for water. Being a woman on the apps is like being in a swamp looking for clean water.

Lol for most of literate human history men didn't even let women read and write. Christianity's creation myth blames Eve for everything. And thousands of years later women can finally talk to each other about predatory men, and that's the disaster?!?

... which is exactly like saying women will make excuses for and ignore the red flags in men if they are attractive.. do you really not see the parallels?

That's like saying attractive women are more likely to be entitled so avoid all attractive women if you want to avoid entitled women.

You're giving directions to an imaginary, "average" store. There are billions of stores, most won't even let you in, and most don't have what you want. You're best chance, I hate to tell you, is that you gotta do your best to check out as many individual stores as possible.

I think red pill have a tendency to overestimate how much of ABC they got right. It feels like a huge insight when you start connecting your anecdotal experience to wider patterns, but as soon as you start generalizing your insights to everyone, you start losing the emergent, random, human element. Biology makes us crave social interaction, close connections, and mating behavior. It's hard-wired into most of us. We're not all economists trying to maximize outcomes, most of us just want to live a…

I'm certainly more blue pill than red, but the "blue" part of it isn't the part that really worked. Maybe I should adjust my flair. Moral "goodness" and romantic attractiveness are independent traits. Too many guys seem to think that all guys fall into one of two categories - "bad" chads who are taking all the women and "good" but conventionally blah guys who can't get a date. This misses the other two groups. There are truly morally good men who are also attractive. And they tend to be in long term relationships. Many marry their high school sweethearts. Guys like Keanu and Pierce Brosnan are often dragged in public because…

Many just means some, so more than 1 but less than most, which is a majority. It makes the whole thing completely undebatable, of course many women areike that, just like many men are rapists.

If you consider the entire world, statistically, we know what the median man and the median women are likely to experience. The median man is a married father in his early thirties living in South or East Asia — most likely India or China — who does physical or semi-skilled labor in agriculture, construction, or manufacturing, earns the equivalent of perhaps $12 a day, completed primary school, practices Hinduism or Islam, owns a basic smartphone, and lives in an extended household where his inc…

Is it really surprising that women have changed? American women have more freedom, more opportunities, and more control of their own lives than almost any other time in human history. Meanwhile, I see entire towns of men who spent their lives working a single skill at a single factory, and when the factory closes, most of them can't make any change whatsoever, and even the suggestion that they change seems to offend them. There are plenty of men that have changed with the times, and they are abs…

Any person can only take responsibility for him or herself though, right? I'm personally not a very angry person, but lots of guys have anger issues. There's no mechanism by which I can "take responsibility" of the wider problem of male anger issues. Most women are in the same boat as most men - we're all individuals just trying to do the best for ourselves, neither gender has a hotline to the male collective or the female collective. When you meet people, especially in dating, the best thing yo…

Since men airing out their grievances in dating more or less requires criticism of women This strikes me as a false premise. Why would it require criticizing women? I'm not clear on what you ideally what changed, or what alternative you'd prefer. A world where women are blamed instead of men? Where men and women are equally blamed? A world where we only blame the small group of elites with real power? Also, after all the blaming, what alternative would you prefer?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/25 05:11 PM
15

Well, there's the first thing I said, which you ignored. Most women are in the same powerless position as most men. The only difference is, there is no equivalent group of elite women who write laws for women, there's just the one group of elite men who who write laws for everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/25 04:41 PM

Women are the same as men, except without a small elite of women who old institutional power. The average woman doesn't write laws, shape media, or design social policies, they just get more matches than you on tinder, which is what you're really mad about.

If this particular "demand" is thought of as sacrosanct, it will lead to awful outcomes like coerced sex. With pedophiles, no one suggests providing them with unwanted children. Voluntary chemical castration is a far more victimless solution.

/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/25 10:01 PM

You're inferring causation where there isn't any. For someone to be a woman beater, they must first have access to a woman. What you're seeing are men who can attract, who also have abusive behaviors. There are men who would beat women if they could, but can't because they simply can't attract women.

By that logic, the first girl from any group of girls to get married will have a failed marriage???
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/25 05:54 PM
1

Isn't this just kind of logical? If you're looking for a FWB, you're looking for sexual gratification, and it's gratifying to have sex with someone attractive. The same as if you have a sugar craving, you're gonna try to satisfy it with chocolate cake, even if you know broccoli is better for you. Nutrition isn't the reason you eat cake, it's because you have a craving for sugar. So you get sugar. Sugar is attractiveness, nutritional value is personality.

I agree that the show didn't focus on solutions for boys, but the message I took away from the show wasn't about solving that problem, it was about waking parents up to a reality they're most likely ignorant of. I saw this show as more of an analogy to "Hey parents, your boys aren't safe behind closed doors with Catholic priests" rather than "How do we get child predators out of the Catholic church."

It's not going to help everyone who watches it. It sounds like you're someone who took the wrong lesson from it. The movie is really about the danger of parental indifference and ignorance in a world with evolving dangers. Parents today aren't raising their children in the same world they grew up in. The greatest dangers to first-world children today are on the internet, it's not a guy trying to kidnap them in a white van. I really see this series as an extension of Jonathan Haidt's work on how …

How were schools designed for women when it took centuries for women to even get the right to an education? The first female lawyer in America came around in the 1870s. We didn't have a female federal judge until 1920, and Sandra Day O'Connor, the first female SCOTUS justice wasn't appointed until 1981.

Cornelius Vanderbilt's net worth in the late 1870s was about $3 billion in today's dollars, but it was actually more than that relatively speaking - his net worth was 1.1% of America's GDP. We still have Vanderbuilt university, but by the 1970s, not a single Vanderbilt heir was a millionaire.

Well yeah, of course. The best you can do is increase your probability of success, there are no guarantees. It's like trying to get a good job that pays well and doesn't destroy your soul. There is very little you can do to guarantee getting such a thing. Some people are born lucky with rich and connected parents, or extraordinary talent and charisma which makes them valuable to most employers. Most of us work hard to make ourselves as employable as possible and hope for the best.

Depends on why they're rich. Inherited money guys go for attractive women from within their old money networks from established upper class families. Self made guys either stick with someone from before their wealth that they can trust, or go for someone that they're highly attracted to but in a guarded way e.g. prenuptial. This is just in general, there are always outliers.

Historically, women have had VERY little control over men's sexual access. For most of human history, a small handful of men had control over most of the desirable women in their society, and it was privileged men who controlled average men's sexual access. Only recently have a small minority of women in privileged parts of the world gained bodily autonomy.

You seem to equate personality with "talking to women." Assuming most women are interested in men, they're going to have naturally developed better skills at talking to men in a romantically interesting way than talking to women in a romantically interesting way. Or, in other words, their personalities will tend to be optimized for attracting men.

I think we men did this. More specifically, the most privileged men of the boomer generation. The incredible environment that adult American men enjoyed right after WW2 meant that men wanted to believe in a story that they earned and deserved the riches of their situation. It's why all of the CEOs who made fortunes in the 80s-2000s hired PR firms to create "Great Man" images of themselves. Relationships are transactional, but they're not zero-sum. In the best relationships, both parties come out ahead of where they would be if they were single. To illustrate this, look into a psych/econ experiment called The Public Goods Game. The game goes like this - two people are given $10 each. You can choose how much to keep for yourself, and how much to contribute to the public pool. At the end of each round, whatever was donated to the public pool is doubled, then distributed EQUALLY to bo…

Is it a general superiority complex? Or just a superiority complex in the world of social media? There are absolutely industries where women are simply more desired, like in modeling. So, do those women get a superiority complex generally, or just in their world of modeling? Korea and Japan both have fertility rates of around 0.6 to 0.8 depending on which year you look at. This is way below replacement level. Women also plan it out because they have to. Many men can kill most women with their bare hands, on an impulse. Very few women are capable of the same.

The problem with this approach is that you're thinking of women as an object to be obtained, and you're hoping to ask people who successfully obtained a similar object. A much better analogy might be the relationship between a quarterback and his wide receiver. Not all quarterbacks are great with all wide receivers, and vice versa. In that case, a good quarterback should absolutely ask receivers how they can perform better as a partner so that both can be successful.

Women just have to exist, not be that fat. You're assuming women are only valuable to men because of their physical qualities. Women have leveled up in crazy ways in the past few decades. Maybe in the 1950s or 1960s, the "top" women were just beautiful women and nothing more, but nowadays you have women who are both beautiful and high-achieving, and the top people from both genders are often interested in being with an equal. Only way I see most of those women having a family is becoming single moms (serial polygamy) or sharing men (polygyny). I read fine, I'm a lawyer. And "abuse is a crime" is a gross oversimplification. Why the focus on who is initiating vs. who is damaged? I question your motives because you framed it as a question of "who started it." The same study you cited shows that even with 70% of non-reciprocal domestic violence being initiated by the women, men were only 38% of injuries sustained were by men, so women are still being disproportionately damaged when it comes to actual harm.

One guy could impregnate a woman every single day of the year. He's now contributed to 365 future lives. Each of the women he impregnated can only have that one child at a time. So by this one guy spreading his seed, he's basically let 364 men off the hook, and we still have the same number of future children as if 365 men mated with 365 women. But if one of those women goes childfree, the ceiling for those people is now 364, where as with men, only 1 out of 365 had to procreate.

It has nothing to do with sex and everything to do with how and why you are engaging with another person. From all the articles I've read, people in their twenties are barely dating/hooking up anymore.

Attaining "true love" is kind of like becoming a successful professional athlete. It won't work out for most people statistically, but the people who have an unreasonable belief in themselves, who are overly optimistic about themselves, and are more resilient to setbacks are the ones who will give themselves the best chance at success.

nah it's you. When describing any data set, "most" can't ever be below average. you're more correct in other posts where you say that average is unattractive.

I don't think it's lack of effort, I think it's lack of IRL experience on the women's side. No one is born with perfect social skills, it takes practice, mistakes and reps to develop into a socially competent person. It used to be that even attractive women would have to go somewhere where they could physically be noticed to get attention - nowadays, any girl with social media can show a little skin to their camera and get attention. So they've skipped those early IRL experiences where they lear…

Dude, a society that kills you halfway through your natural lifespan isn't good. History seems cool because we're reading about the 1% of the 1% of the 1%, but the vast majority of people in history lived miserable lives full of manual labor and very little sex, much less sex with someone of their choosing.

Currently, men's time is probably viewed as more valuable. It's likely cultural inertia - for all the progress we've made toward equality in the workplace, most working people today grew up in households where the dad was the primary breadwinner. Husbands always get a rude awakening when they try taking on full-time childcare for the first time. I'd much rather stare at Outlook and fend off work in the corporate world than deal with a crying baby.

Seriously, right? There are famous examples of both things happening. Different people behave differently

I think cold approach going out of fashion was a direct response to the fucking pickup artist shit that was suddenly everywhere 10 or 15 years ago. It's not terribly surprising that women quickly got sick of packs of thirsty sex pests insulting their appearance as some psychological trick to bed them.

I don't think it's just bitter older women, I think most healthy adults look suspiciously on age gap relationships because of the natural experience imbalance. Think about the workplace - most 22, 23-year olds at their first jobs have no idea whether it's appropriate or not to be running non-work errands for their boss, or what kind of behavior is acceptable or not. Think about how helpless new hires are at your workplace, and how easy it is to stick them with the worst tasks since they don't kn…

What traits do good men have? Emotional intelligence. They can express feelings without losing control. They notice when someone in a group feels uncomfortable, and can find subtle ways to make them feel more welcome. They can sense when your anxiety is growing, and can intervene before it snowballs. When I think of guys who women widely and truly adore and deeply admire (and aren't just attracted to/would sleep with) it's guys who are fluent in the language of feelings.

Because you basically described an NPC. What's the argument for being with the female version of Adam?

Lebron spends $1MM on his body each year. I'm the same age, but a desk jockey, and still spend maybe $10k/year on health/fitness/wellness/recreation. In my 20s I didn't need to spend anything, but boy do chronic back problems suck.

Okay we get it, women have a better time on dating apps at first. But it's really just the illusion of abundance. Even attractive women, if they want a meaningful relationship, eventually have to choose one suitor! And if that's successful, that is one man and one woman (in the hetero scenario) that is now off the market. Think about it this way - men are at a 1996 Blockbuster with a five dollar bill and they can shoot one shot. Maybe all the new releases are gone, but if you choose right, you'l…
