I understand how you feel, but it's not good for you to dwell on these negative thoughts.

This is the point I'm trying to make but people are missing the point. I'm assuming it's the Bro Circle. You need to feel better inside before you can feel better outside. Lifting is an aesthetic and you should never draw confidence from an aesthetic. Be happy with who you are and lift if you like to lift, not the other way around.

You're missing the point, obviously.

I didn't single anything out. What I said was (and maybe this point was misconstrued, but it seemed pretty clear to me) that you need to change the way you think, above all else. You don't need to lift to feel better. Honestly we should be promoting acceptance as a community, because that's what combats insecurity. Think about it from a fundamental perspective. You lift to feel better about yourself. What happens if you get injured? You lose your gains and start to feel worse about yourself. So …

Or they need an excuse. Which is exactly what this sounds like. Happiness, confidence, any trait of self-actualization only works and sticks when there isn't a reason attached to it. What happens when you stop lifting and your gains go away? So does your confidence. And we're back at square one. Change your mind, change your life.

Yeah, man. He's just explaining a feeling that can be interpreted a bit easier from a GIF than a long-winded self-post... I don't really see the harm. People still provide quality posts, there are FR's, all kinds of goodies. I don't see it harming the quality of the sub at all.

Because I can't link to this enough, apparently. If I had a dollar every time someone said a sub "went to shit" because people asked questions.

What do you mean? For me it's simple. I don't pedestalize anyone. I know my worth and what I'm willing to accept and I encourage the women around me to embrace their own worth as well. I refuse to believe that women should just invest themselves in me without wanting similar investment, just as I wouldn't invest myself in someone else without getting a return on that investment. Relationships are business at the end of the day and you have to push everyone involved to operate with integrity, unl…

I invest in them. Works for me. :) EDIT: To expound upon this idea, I bond with women. I talk about things that actually mean something to them, appealing to their want to be desired as well as their need to feel connected. I really use this in every facet of my life and I've experienced such amazing friendships and relationships because of it. You have to step out of your comfort zone, without losing sight of the fact that as many others have said, you're a buyer and not a seller. The girl I'm …

It's just irking me that this is one of the best detailed FR I've read in recent memory and you're comments are sitting at 0 karma, seems like hate to me. But thanks for the great write up. :)

In Buddhist thinking this idea of non-clinging doesn’t just apply to material possessions — we’re so materialistic that that’s the first thing we think of — but to everything, including the idea of having a self. I think the ideal is the same. The authenticity of the quote doesn't matter as much to me. shrug
/r/seduction11/05/14 04:04 AM

Honestly I never gave it much thought. I found out one day that happiness is a choice and when I found Buddhism it just kind of clicked. When you are finally able to objectify suffering and identify it as a thing, and also identify yourself (and your ego) it just kind of makes you realize life is a beautiful joke. We're all creatures just playing a game. So why not just be nice about it? What's the drawback? :) Happiness is too fucking awesome. And everyone wants to be around you when you're the…

No, it's not all strictly Buddhist philosophy, but it does interrelate with a lot of teachings in Buddhism. That feeling I kind of more so took away from meditation, it was an aha moment where I finally realized that nothing ever matters besides this moment. In this moment you choose to be the person you are. And the consecutive commitment to those moments are what build you. Did a lot of shit? Yeah, that sucks, but you still have this moment. And you'll always have this moment. It never ends. B…

If you use Buddhism and other such teachings (non-dualism, 'power of now', etc.) to become more attractive to women or to pick up women, then you do not understand these teachings. It's quite possible you took my comment out of context. I'm actually advocating for the exact opposite. I personally used the teachings of Buddha to realize why my 'game' was off in the first place, because I wasn't happy with the person I was. That is what ultimately shifted my focus away from 'having game' to 'being…

"We only lose what we cling to." There's your advice. (Plus, women hate clingers, so basically control your emotions.) You probably get a crush because you're hoping or expecting things to go a certain way. The only real solution to that is to not expect anything and just let things happen.

I'm torn, because I would like to know what your suffering is, but I don't want to downplay your personal struggle. I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but life is tough for everyone, especially in this climate. But being down on yourself isn't going to help anything. Consider this: Everyone suffers, but we suffer because we cling to ideals. We all think we should be somewhere in life, but who has defined those earmarks? Societal norms. It isn't your job to adhere to the benchmarks of s…

No one will ever live the life you live, experience what you have and make the choices you will make. Appreciate everything you have done in life; it is the only formula that makes you unique. Even with negative experiences, you've learned from them and grown. Everything helps make you a better person. Having said that, why do you hate social interaction? I find one of the most fascinating parts of life is discovering the likes and interests of others. What makes you feel adverse towards it? Sid…

But that's why I'm such an ardent supporter of Buddhism. Naturally, it's difficult for most people to embrace Buddhism and keep that same "getting laid" mindset, when you realize that your intentions are not in line with the eightfold path. That's what helped me permanently change my mindset. I was finally able to foster positive relationships with people because I was actually able to stop my expectations; I finally became outcome independent, but for all of the right reasons. I think that's wh…

YES! This too. This captures exactly what I was trying to say. For the longest I was wondering why I was never satisfied with anything I've achieved, but this is the exact perspective that changed all of that, for me. Life is a game. Tomorrow never comes, the past is always gone, so all you ever have is the moment.

Dude I'll be Buddha Bros with anyone. It's all about spreading positive energy for the betterment of others, in my opinion. I want to share everything I've learned to help others. :)

Yeah? Then make yourself better. If you know your value is sub-par, then take actions to change it. Don't ever accept anything about yourself that you don't like. You are in complete control of who you are, no matter how bleak it may appear.

Can confirm. Lost my fiancee 8 months ago because of 5 years of this. IT DOESN'T WORK. AND I'M SO GLAD I lost her to teach me this. I've been having the time of my LIFE over the last 4 months. DO NOT TREAT ANYONE like they're better than you. We're ALL equal with our own individual strengths and weaknesses. APPRECIATE your own self worth and you'll attract the women you want. EDIT: Sidebar, Buddhism taught me that you can only lose what you cling to, so keep that in mind, as well. If you're not …

Exactly, people fall back on Tinder because they're too nube to go to a bar, work on their inner game and create the right kinds of attraction. It's a total cop out, but that's what some people want. Easy Street. I don't think those people come to Seddit with the right mindset anyway.

And with this approach, cocky funny always works. 100% of the time. That's the cool guy, the guy who can tell it to you straight and you can a) laugh at yourself and b) appreciate his sincerity. I have both male and female friends like this and they're damn near my BFFLs because it's so hard to find people who have the confidence to live life this way. EDIT: Even HappyJerk's name is cocky funny, haha.

If you like jager bombs, drink jager bombs... Do not listen to people who try to objectify your swagger. That's why it's yours. Do not listen to people who use pre-conceived notions of what is "popular". This is not alpha. -_-

I see a whole lot of hating and not enough congratulations. Nobody knows if this kid is telling the truth, but in a sub where we're supposed to inspire hope for each other... why are we busy picking apart the validity of this story? LET IT BE A BASTION OF HOPE FOR ALL YOU SEXLESS PRICKS. The reason why you're sexless is because you spend so much time questioning shit like this and not learning what you can from a story, whether it's true or not! Gah.

Uhmm... Not understanding all this negative backlash. All I've ever seen on seddit are mostly principles on how to be a confident male in hopes of attracting quality women, which isn't something that should be taboo to talk about, or am I missing something here?

You're the only one placing labels. I welcome all forms of knowledge and arguments, but I, like everyone, have a bias. But I can be swayed with a compelling argument, which it simply appears you don't have.
