No, not good news. My interpretation is that she is negating all the talk, decisions, laws and actions taken by feminist that discriminate against men. She is not saying “feminism is man-hating and it shouldn’t be”. She is saying “people saying feminism is man-hating has to stop, because it isn’t”.

I agree with this even more than with my own comment. Spot on.

I cannot disagree more. First, there is a critical crisis on men’s rights and wellbeing, and that is not comparable to the other “issue” (even if it was an issue) by orders of magnitude. Second, there are around 4B men in the world; role models are not limited to the two or three controversial public images you cherry pick, in my experience most people’s role models are their parents, siblings or people very specific to the work someone does.

Is the point of your post to hide some long-text anti-men garbage behind some title that seems friendly to see how many upvotes you get? I hope you generated that hateful +1k word garbage using ChatGPT, otherwise what a waste of time!

The reason is because a flat-earther or any other kind of opinion which is provably wrong you are thinking of comes from ignorance, misinformation, wishful thinking or other such harmless phenomena (at least harmless to individuals directly). The issue with the bearVmen thing is that it comes from hate, and it is just another manifestation of the same hate that drives politicians to put in place the laws that discriminate us, that make people at large (even most men) to ignore and even ridicule …

I simply overall agree with that. I do think, however, that men truly have a harder time in the world today (and for the last 5-10 years) because we have focused on solving problems of women but we have just made the problems of men worse. Also, by attempting to solve many problems of women we have created serious problems for men as a result. In Spain for example, there are over 500 laws that discriminate against men purely on the basis of gender (higher sentences for the same crime, less money…

Amongst men we know that it doesn’t matter that much what you say to be labelled a creep or a pervert, it matters mostly how hot and desirable you seem to be for a particular girl. I’ve seen guys do very sexual advances on a party to a girl (speech-wise and respectfully, of course, I’m not referring to anything actually inappropriate) and be received very well because the girl likes him; conversely I’ve seen guys simply get close to a girl to talk to her and being humiliated, treated like shit a…

I agree with what you say. One thing to add is that slut-shaming is not something that only happens to women. I would say it happens to men with the same incidence, just under a different name: creeps, weirdos, perverts, etc. Of course sometimes these labels may be justified, but most of us have been insulted for going to a girl we like and trying to talk nicely and respectfully, we may be labelled a creep simply because she does not like us back. I’ve had a girlfriend for years (she’s amazing a…

I agree with your point of slut-shaming, that’s something a lot of people do (including men) and it’s a shit experience for women. However, I’ve never heard anyone call a girl slut for approaching a guy she likes and say “hello” and something nice. Also, it’s not only Finnish law: you can check here the countries in which conscription is mandatory (mostly only for men) https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2019/04/23/fewer-than-a-third-of-countries-currently-have-a-military-draft-most-exclude-…

I’ll give you some examples of why people are disappointed with women in general, not just feminists. In many countries, such as where I live in (Finland), men lose 1 or 2 years of their lives to undergo physically and mentally exhausting training in a mandatory basis, and live with the knowledge that they may need to die for someone else if a war arises. None of us has ever seen a single mother, sister, girlfriend, wife or aunt ever say “it’s not fair my boy has to do this for being a boy” and …

You may know other issues and pains from your own personal experience as you’ve mentioned, and these may be similar to some of the situations we live through. But no, you don’t know how it feels to experience the world as a man. I don’t mean to say that your pains and experiences are any less important or less great than ours, or that you cannot participate in our discussions or understand us deeply because of that. You can. I said it because you question why we would share our issues without th…

I genuinely don’t get your point… I haven’t said you are trying to convince anyone of anything. I don’t understand why this community, which is very large, cannot serve both as a place for advancing our understanding on the topic in a data and logic-driven way and as a place to share empathy. Why would we need to split this space? For the eyes of the outside world? The eyes of those who we have tried desperately to show our pain to and they just denigrate us? Why would we care to accommodate peo…

A possible question: why would you share some internet story with the world instead of some greatly curated data that would prove to everyone the experiences you suffer from in life? Surely you would get more empathy that way? Well, we’ve tried, thousands of times. We are just met with insults from the general public. Unfortunately, the most practical approach to feel better for most of us is to share it with those who know and feel the same, and they don’t need Nature-published papers to identi…

From reading you I get the impression you talk from a self-built altar of wisdom on the topic; given all your experiences and reflections you must understand what we share here better than us. I respect your capacity not to open your mind, but to keep it open despite the societal pressure to lock us away, long and wide enough to read us with some hints of pure curiosity and kindness. But you don’t know how it feels. You don’t know a hundredth of the constant devaluation of our lives we experienc…

I’m just going to quote one of the comments I found in your account’s history: “Because I’ve never once seen a man who’s been used by a woman sexually. I don’t see a bunch of single dads running around either.” You have nothing to teach me, nor anybody here. Get the fuck out of our sub.

Too bad you went through the trouble to make all this up just so that nobody cares. I admire the effort to troll though, that’s a lot of text. Next time try to inject some truth into it, perhaps you convince someone 👍
/r/MensRights08/02/24 07:51 AM

That is simply not true. First of all, you have not provided any sources for your claims (we often provide ours, which are well documented). Second of all, it's quite likely unfeasible for these sources to exist in the first place; tracking statistics of behavioral circumstances regarding violent situations is simply not viable, how would you classify situations that are extremely complex and unique into overly simplified classes like "provoked / unprovoked", when law enforcement cannot even kno…

Because critique does not equal hate. There may be hate speech in this sub, as it’s quite large, but the posts/comments displaying it are removed by mods or heavily downvoted, in my experience. Not the case in that other women’s sub; there, hate is what gets you votes.

If they are supporting men in an issue mostly faced by women, yes. If they are supporting men when there is already more systematic societal support for men, yes. If they are supporting men because everybody else does not provide them with the support they need, for issues mostly faced by them, no. Your charity does not comply with the last category, but it does with the first two: sexist, that is, misandrist.
/r/MensRights22/11/23 03:46 PM

And no, the point of “let them alone, they can help whoever they want” is not a good point. This is because these practises of only supporting women are incredibly systemic, which means that someone, just because he is born with a penis, will get less opportunities and support from society than someone born with a vagina. Plus, he needed more support in the first place for the same reason! In society, resources are limited, and they are going towards helping women more than men. The distribution…

You should help people regardless of their gender. When you only or mostly help a group of people based on their gender, that’s called being sexist; when, on top of that, you help the group less affected by a big margin, that’s called being vile.

In all of the things you mention, but for perhaps human trafficking (Idk), men are statistically more likely to suffer from them, by a big margin too in most of these issues. That’s the problem: men suffer more yet women receive the majority of help, funding and compassion.

I would suggest not using “we” when you talk about the group of people of this sub: if you are saying that “most of the posts here are advice to men to stay away from women” you haven’t been here for more than 5 min. You are simply lying, and anyone who surfs this sub for long enough will notice, I don’t need to prove anything on this front. I explained that there are indeed women who support us but I showed you how the problem is that most don’t. Your answer is “there are women […]”. It’s plain…

Hahahah it’s very petty that you just repeat what I say without understanding what it means; unfortunately, in this case it doesn’t apply, as you only posed one question which was answered in the third paragraph. You either did not read my post (quite likely, as it often happens with feminists) and/or you are not able to understand any point beyond feminist propaganda (also quite likely, for the same reasons). Playing with you aside, evidently there are some women in the world who agree with us …

I don’t think you know anything about women’s rights, if you say men did not fight for them to have them. They continue to do so today, look at Iran for example. You didn’t really answer my question, so I’ll take it that you saw your own hypocrisy and did not want to elaborate on it. Focusing on men’s rights often requires to focus on people who are preventing us to have them. In this case, what feminists are doing is perpetuating the narrative of men’s lives having less value than women’s lives…

So is feminism fighting for men’s rights, or are they looking out for themselves and we should not expect them to start petitions for men too (that is, for everybody)? You cannot have your cake and eat it too, buddy.

I’m not even going to answer to your arguments. You are defending the idea of cutting off all male babies’ penises at birth, with the pretext that it would not be bad for them since they would not be old enough to understand what’s happening to them. You are human garbage, and I hope one day you realise it.

Another thing she mentions is that “boys would not mind being castrated because they wouldn’t even be able to understand it if they were just born when you do it”, “why would it be a problem?”. You are defending a horrible person, which makes you a horrible person. Look at yourself in the mirror. Disgusting.

For more context, listen to the whole audio. You are wrong in assuming based on the little context you’ve provided that such was her intention and it was given as such a simple exercise. She clearly states that “it would be good” if such a scenario would be real, and she dismisses students telling her that it’s something dangerous to propose, stating that it’s “not a bad idea”. If you want to understand the context, read the whole thing, not only whatever extract fits your ideologue narrative.

Also, w.r.t. your further comments about this sub and the mods: they are simply not true. We are welcoming of anybody, regardless of any characteristic given at birth or otherwise, as long as they respect the rules of the sub and, more generically, behave civically, constructively and respectfully. You are welcome in the sub, as long as you respect the rest of us and the rules. The fact that people here don't agree with you is not a reason to say "we are not ok with equality" or "aren't happy wi…

In the sub's guidelines, it's clearly stated as #1 rule that posts "must be related to men's rights". As I see it, your post is not related to men's rights. I'm as interested in reading a woman explaining to me what they believe is toxic masculinity as I am in reading someone telling me about the production of calcium sulfite in this sub. Now, besides your point: many people in this sub will find it misandrist to appeal to "toxic masculinity"; the term implies there is something "toxic" about th…

I don’t think you are asking that in the right sub. It is great to try to give a space for men to talk about their feelings. However, the MR movement is an attempt to understand and give visibility to the root causes of our suffering and unwellness, particularly those which are tied to discrimination and injustice for the pure reason of being born a certain way (with a penis, in this case). This is not primarily a sub to help with the consequences of the discrimination we face, but to help at un…
