We have had some arguments in front of our kid (which I'm ashamed to admit), but it was both of us involved in the arguments, not like a one sided thing, so I feel like that'll reflect negatively on both of us equally.

Yeah, I'm concerned cuz she has indicated she's going to argue I'm irresponsible, uninvolved, and verbally/emotionally abusive (all untrue). I did used to smoke marijuana daily, but it's legal where I live and I haven't smoked in 8 months now (quit the day we separated to try and work on myself, haven't used since).

I did used to smoke marijuana daily, quit 8 months ago. I have a feeling my spouse will be trying to claim verbal/emotional abuse against me, as we make has arguments while cohabitating during divorce (never got physical though).

That hasn't been decided yet. My lawyer thinks she doesn't have a very good chance of getting any, and if she does he thinks it'll be minimal. She's a SAHM who has an LLC business. She brings in less than minimum wage with it, but her earning capacity is much much higher were she to get a traditional job.

Yeah I make $65k, but they put my income at 70k cuz of that ridiculous amount of overtime at the end of last year. Honestly, I don't mind paying the child support. She'll have to put it towards rent and food, so as long as my kid is fed, clothed, and has a place to live with her I'm happy.

How much do you make? Right now with our proposed arrangement (not official yet) I'm looking at about $450 per month.

Of note - they've already included an average of my overtime pay from last year, which was unregularly high due to major changes in our department that required crazy overtime. Since that's not an option anymore I'm trying to offset those costs.

I did talk to my lawyer and he said as long as it's one-off jobs here and there it shouldn't affect my support as long it doesn't become regular. The one regular gig I picked up really isn't much extra, and would be paid under the table, so he's not too concerned about that either. I am, however, going to avoid picking up any additional freelance stuff til after the divorce is finalized.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
