Against the law, for now...

Does your interaction with Alexa change the way you interact with other humans? Or is Alexa just another tool, and you are capable of drawing the line between real and fake.

We as a society are fucked if either gender completely ignores the other. A lot of people are forgetting that men and women need each other. We can't just give half the world the silent treatment. Not claiming you are saying this, but just sayin..

how can you say that, reliably?

Im not sure what you're trying to accomplish here. Are you arguing against the validity of age of consent laws?

I'm not admitting to having a limited understanding of the reasoning behind my claims. I'm admitting to being disinterested in engaging in a conversation with you regarding the validity of statutory rape as a concept, when convincing arguments exist online and are easily accessed. The historical origin of statutory rape is only part of the argument of their validity. The impressionability of young minds, the influence of positions of power in decision making i.e. the influence on decision making…

there are plenty of resources online that describe the ethics of age of consent and statutory rape laws. They could describe the rationale better than I could. Just because the age is arbitrary between 16-18 doesnt mean the entire concept is arbitrary. There is a legitimate rationale behind it.

You are taking my argument and bringing it to an illogical and ridiculous conclusion. The fact is that a person in a position of authority should not be using their power to seduce individuals who are impressionable. Rape has more than one definition. It's not just a forceful, violent suppression of body. The quicker we realize that physical force isn't the the ultimate or sole criteria for crime, the quicker we realize that women are just as capable of damaging criminal behavior as men. Just be…

Good thing modern science exists because of the tireless work of countless men! You are now cured!

Throughout my entire life, I can count on one hand the times where I was explicitly told to do anything because it was manly. And I went through boy scouts. I have always been someone who cries easily, and I have never felt less manly. I think the scope of this toxic masculinity is overstated.

Well feminism started in part from prominent leaders like Sally Miller Gearhart, who stated that the population of men should be reduced to 10% so that they could be subjugated and used when needed. Now its evolved into something much better, where prominent members of the feminist community regularly call for the removal of men from deserved positions, talk about the uselessness of men, and regularly use the phrased coined by Sally Miller Gearhart "the future is female" I may be misunderstandin…

and mens rights is not just about what certain members of this sub make it out to be
/r/MensRights08/03/18 05:34 PM

And no one will get it unless members of that group stand up and demand it. Which is an unfortunate but real aspect of humanity. It seems that we don't care about people unless we are forced to.
/r/MensRights08/03/18 05:17 PM

definitely not denying that, and in my experience there is enough diversity of perspective in this sub that every time a comment or post like that comes up, there is someone to counter it. Every group has to work on fixing their own toxicity, and we could probably stand to be more proactive about that

Nope! https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/82vpnl/we_at_mensrights_would_like_to_celebrate/dvdr3o8/ look at the comment above you for the rationale of referencing the toxicity of modern feminism. It was in response to a comment talking about how there is no "biased perspective", so it was relevant to the conversation.

Yeah I care about the social and legal rights of men, so subbing here seemed like a good idea

/r/MensRights08/03/18 04:35 PM

The comment said there is no biased perspective, in response to a comment talking about how vice highlighted the toxicity that plagues mens rights movements. Their doing an article on that suggests implicitly that that same toxicity does not exist in feminism, when it clearly does. So yea thats a biased perspective that is perpetuated throughout society - that mens rights hate feminists (and shouldn't be taken seriously), and feminists are for men, when oftentimes the opposite is demonstrated.

just because the subreddit isn't organized optimally doesn't mean we don't care about activism. There have been links to multiple fundraisers over the last few weeks.

I pretty sure the hashtag #killallmen and #menareuseless was trending recently, so I'm not sure you're right about there not being a biased perspective. There is toxicity on both sides, unfortunately.
/r/MensRights08/03/18 04:16 PM

which is good no? Mens rights as a movement is transitioning from a movement of hating feminism to a movement helping men. Don't let best be the enemy of better.

Facebook is not a good representation of any demographic.

Have you actually frequented this sub? I really don't think much of the content is anti women. Sometimes anti feminist though, which is legitimate. Any social movement that tries to hold itself above or exempt from criticism is a dangerous one. Everyone is subject to criticism.

I love how writers like this ALWAYS use contrived statements as evidence. Like, just because you can list a few sentences that use the word pussy as an insult doesn't prove that society thinks feminine is inferior. However, the fact that you think encouraging boys to be like girls will 'fix' them does prove that you think feminine is superior.
/r/MensRights07/03/18 06:25 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
