The feminist/equality movement is forcefully trying to incorporate feminism in parts of a man’s life where he is actively looking for an escape. For example, videogames. Truth: A woman’s daily routine to look presentable is rougher than a man’s, their pressure from sexual advances in the workplace can be tough to deal with and the uglier and meaner they are the harder they have it - it makes it harder for them to move up in the world (or even get their foot in the door in the first place). Manscaped never makes me feel unshaven because I don’t use their service I understand what you’re saying and I partially agree. Squatch’s advertising leans more into tropes. Still, there is some advertising from Meridian and Manscaped directed at men to suggest we have poor grooming habits, and it’s kind of one-sided considering women could easily use the same product. I find that businesses often aim their marketing at men believing there’s a hole they can fill in their lives, but sometimes it comes off as derogatory and gives us anxiety when it’s supposed to give us hope. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t wholeheartedly benefit from using their products.
