So let's say I'm a woman and I live next door to you. Do you believe that if I go to your local police station and tell the police that you raped me, then the police should arrest you based on my word alone? Like, do you believe that after hearing the complaint from a woman, the police should just be able to go to your house and tell you that you are under arrest, cuff you, and take you away in their police car?

I completely disagree if you think that a person should be arrested solely based on another person's statement of events. Notice that the article refers to "the victim's statement of events". I think we need to stop referring to accusers as "victims" unless they are actually found to be victims. Until then, they are just an accuser. Sadly, we give instant victims status to accusers. This is bullshit.

There's a woman employed at the police station near me who helps women produce stories to get protection orders. I know that she helped at least one woman to get a fraudulent protection order.

Women are treated like children who don't know any better. They are not held accountable for their behavior.

I don't understand the downvotes. I would guess that a lot of you have this binary idea of whether it is necessarily right or wrong to grope. If I'm down with some attractive stranger grabbing my junk without explicit permission, then that's fine and she can grab my junk all she wants. If I'm not down with somebody grabbing my junk without asking, then it's not fine. But I'm not going to categorically say it's okay or not for grabbing genitals to occur. It all depends, and I understand that a lo…

On second thought, I think if the groping is accepted by the gropee, then it is fine, regardless of whether the groper or gropee is male or female. But I don't think we should have a rule in society that it is generally, or necessarily, wrong for women to be groped by men, but not vice versa.

Wow, she's on TV laughing about it. Imagine the genders reversed and a male grabbing a female celebrity's crotch during a photo op. If a male can't do that to a woman, but a woman can laugh about doing it on TV, then there does seem to be a power imbalance that's not being spoken of, and which is in a direction that is not recognized.

In a lot of cases, I think women enjoy a power imbalance through leveraged reactions to supposed men's power imbalances.

I wonder if they believe there is an inherent power difference between every male and every female? or just some males and some females? If I'm a male in a wheelchair and I'm on welfare, and I'm next to Angela Merkel, Oprah Winfrey, or Melania Trump, does this power imbalance in my favor exist? If not, then it's not maleness that can be responsible for any inherent power imbalance. It must be something else if such a power imbalance exists.

There's this widespread notion that a man can beat up a woman, so therefore it is not an issue when a woman is violent toward a man. I understand that I am stronger than a woman, but I am not accustomed to beating people up. If a woman attacks me, my response is not naturally to fight because despite my strength and size, I am not a fighting person. But I wonder if the standard of "men can't be abused by women because men are bigger and stronger" could apply to male violence against larger men? …

I've met occasional lone male sexists. But feminists are the only organized, outspoken, institutionalized, and proud sexists that I've ever seen. Everybody has disdain toward the lone male sexist. The organized female sexists, the feminists, are applauded and welcomed.

Doesn't it create a power imbalance if women are allowed to grab men due to a "power imbalance"?
/r/MensRights06/12/17 04:42 PM

It's hard to come forth about abuse. It's hard for women. Men have additional hardships. One is that the victim advocacy groups don't appear to be tailored toward men. I see the posters for the local domestic violence support agencies around me and they all have pictures of only women portrayed as victims on them. I'm glad that the women get the help, but when advertisements don't feature one of "your kind" on it, it can make you feel like the services aren't for you. Then there's the societal e…

That's how I see it. Some psychopaths may have some attributes that seem to bring them success with women, but the attractive attribute that draws women to a psychopath (and I don't think most psychopaths are attractive to women) is not what defines psychpathy. I think a lot of guys have mistakenly adopted the idea that to be THE ALPHA MALE (another hypothetical construct) they can just adopt psychopath traits of lacking empathy, being a complete dick, etc, but to see things this way is foolish …

It's really not that important. But if it's an addiction then it's probably a problem. I like sex, and I like doughnuts, but if my life revolves around getting doughnuts, then I've got a problem.

The dark triad worship on this sub really needs to end. I feel that the dark triad characteristics that guys think make dark triad people attractive aren't necessarily the things that make them attractive. Guys are emulating the very wrong things about psychopaths/dirtbags and not realizing they can be cool, sensitive, and genuine and get women. Psychopathy isn't what is attracting women for the psychopath. Emulating the psychopath in an attempt to get laid is cargo cult science.

Trying to understand what it means to be an alpha just kind of pointless. It's a social construct and trying to adhere to a set of rules or behaviors in an attempt to appear "alpha" seems rather anti-alpha.

Along with my post about overthinking, overcomplicating things (especially when it comes to meeting new women) happens entirely way to much on this sub. Sure we can go into depth about every text message, every little detail of an interaction. It makes for a good topic but it really isn't doing shit for your overall outcome. In this subreddit there's many examples of this, not seeing the forest for the trees. People dwelling on every micro-gesture, how to speak, how to walk, how to do every litt…

I wouldn't think too much about tuning your voice. Maybe there's something different about where you're at than where I am, but all of the details fall into place when you get your mind right. Get your attitude fixed, and all the conditions like voice (there are thousands of such conditions) will follow. Looking at the mechanics of everything can be like not seeing the forest for the trees. These things end up occurring automatically as a result of getting your thoughts and feelings (yes, feelin…

Good post. I'd add that after age 25, leanness becomes a much bigger deal. By your late-20s, there's every excuse in the world to lose control of your weight. All the stuff you did that worked before suddenly stops working, you have less energy, you can't bounce back from workouts as quickly, and it's harder to shake fatigue. LOL, isn't that the truth. And the older you get, the less likely those in your age group is lean. Everyone starts letting themselves go. They say, "fuck it". But not you. …

Fat faces also don't convey emotion or other information as well. The face is covered with fat that blocks every nuanced microgesture. It's hard to convey anything with the face when it's covered with a thick layer of fat. People think of the face only as that which contains many of the sensory organs, but it's also an emitter of a lot of information which a thick layer of fat just impedes. Great point overall about the leanness. I'm 40 something years old and I spent my 20s thinking I needed to…
