What the fuck does most of that even mean...

If you're apologising on behalf of others who have done bad shit before because they are also male then you need to take a good long hard look in the mirror and reevaluate where your self respect has gone.

No I have not. I've made tonnes of mistakes in my life, plenty of bad choices which took time to learn and grow from. One thing I've managed to keep in control however, is I've never put my dick in crazy.

Dude, I use this sub because I am: A) A man, and feel that some issues raised here are interesting and appropriate for me to engage with. B) A father of two sons, who I do not want to see demonised for being male. Despite this, the second someone I'm disagreeing with sees that I use this sub they call me an incel (clearly not married with two kids) and an MRA. Well, I'm no activist that's for damn sure, but if someone is fragile enough to attempt to justify their judgement of your entire charact…

What. The. Fuck. The only person trying to be oppressed is the author of this crap. Hellen Keller could see that.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
/r/MensRights30/03/21 10:15 AM

The thing is that articles like this one aren't objective. The entire thing is based on how the author feels and their perception of the world around them.
/r/MensRights29/03/21 06:02 PM

You last question is probably the closest. The only reason I say this is because in number 6 that is the only picture where the man is doing what the author of this crap would deem appropriate. So yes, at some level it is probably trying to subtly portray the dolls in an unequal and good vs bad. Good spot, I'd noticed the difference before you mentioned it.

False accusations are far more common than people think, and even more frequent than that are women who claim to have been raped with literally no evidence and no apparent perpetrator.
/r/MensRights18/03/21 10:28 AM
11

Because the perpetrators may be male, but they are a minority. Women make up the vast majority of perpetrators in cases of infantcide but we aren't claiming all babies are victims and feel unsafe and that women all need extra education on how to act. The violent minority will always exist.

So, the fact that men are at far greater risk of being the victim of violent crime is just irrelevant? Because it's also some men that perpetrate that crime? Are you a lunatic? In the UK in 2019 (our last normal year before covid): "As in previous years, the majority of homicide victims in the year ending March 2019 were male. Just under two-thirds were male victims (64%) and just over a third were female (36%)." Taken from The Office of National Statistics. https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulati…

There were a few characters in my school days, and I left in 08 so it was a long time before the SJW types invaded places of education and there were a lot of laughs. When I was in secondary school there was one girl in particular in a few of my classes with the same attitude. Anyone she didn't want to engage, interact or work with was often described as creepy, or a stalker. One time in my mind sticks out in particular when our teacher was trying to explain something to the class and she was chatting all the way through the presentation. Towards the end our teacher got fed up and told her to be quiet or leave the class. Her response? "Oh my gawddddd, why is …

Imagine him at 30, married with 2 kids and his wife isn’t keeping up the shaving routine like she is to. It would be terrible if he continues to have that underlying feeling of disgust towards women’s body hair. It isn't that terrible, he would just have to put his foot down so shit started getting done. The key to being the patriarch of any successful household is to not let standards slip.

Not just that but armpit hair in general isn't very appealing. Even as a man I've found removing it preferable, feel cleaner and more hygienic and have no issues with BO because my antiperspirant can do its job without smelly sweat getting trapped in a mass of armpit hair. Trying to lecture an 8 year old on the underlying messages of social beauty standards and their link with crap like feminsm is just obnoxious.

What I find most infuriating is that you can victimise and humiliate boys and young men with this accusatory rhetoric all you want. If someone is inclined to rape someone they are going to do it, regardless of what you've told them. We have laws against murder but it doesn't prevent people from killing people. It's just a guise to demonise young men within society and strip them of self esteem young by teaching them that they are inheritantly bad because of their gender. I will not let my sons f…

Another thought, OP. You should ask the teacher: "What would be the legal ramifications of forcibly subjecting approximately half of the general population to a curfew which limits their movements based on their gender, a protected characteristic under the 2010 Equality act. Further more, what do you suppose happen to men who work at night, do we strip them of their right to work providing for themselves and their families? Has your teacher outright said men are trash, or that men should be subjected to a curfew or that she believes in a male free utopia? If so that is unprofessional and downright irresponsible. Sadly though it seems to be a sad sign of the direction in which higher education is headed in.

I wouldn't immediately respect or disrespect anyone. However, if a man proclaimed himself a feminist to me and ultimately beleived we, in Western society live in a tyrannical patriarchy built on oppression and subjugation I would immediately lose respect for him. This is because this narrative does not paint an accurate picture of our present nor our past and serves no meaningful purpose for our future. Rather than unite, and strive for equality a substantial amount of feminist teaching seems to…

Haha. Where did I scapegoat black people mate? Footage of BLM and Antifa riots clearly shows white people commiting acts of violence and vandalism in the same manner so don't for a second try to pull that rubbish on me. Okay, let me start by saying this; I do not condone thr actions of those who stormed the Capitol. Nor do I condone the actions of BLM rioters or Antifa rioters. Do I personally denounce violence in all forms? No, absolutely not. Violence has its place in the world in certain circumstances and to denounce it entirely doesn't help anyone. Because it suits you to tell yourself that YOU are not like the others. That because YOU haven't killed, you think you've never raped, you think you've never been violent with a woman, then that would justify not saying "all men". Yet you are a man. Why is it that every thing is a competitive event at the Oppression Olympics for feminists? Cancer is a horrible disease and I'm sure all of us, if not the vast majority of us have lost friends, family or both to it. /r/MensRights08/01/21 07:17 PM

I know you treat women a way you don't treat men. Nope. I don't treat women the same way I treat men. The reason? We are inheritantly different. I work in a male dominanted environment and the way I conduct myself among male colleagues and friends is vastly different to how I conduct myself around unfamiliar women. Female friends however I would treat the same as a man. Sorry pal but I'm not the bad guy 😘

I would treat a man equally, if I felt a scentence was lightly handed to him or that a punishment seemed disproportionate to a crime then, depending on the nature of the offence absolutely consider the idea that the offenders mental stability was a mitigating factor. What claims? What actions?
/r/MensRights08/01/21 04:35 PM

At no point have I excused her behaviour. I've made several comments to the contrary. Wondering if a potential psychological issue played a role in the outcome of the case is not excusing or justifying the actions of her.
/r/MensRights08/01/21 04:34 PM
1

Yes, that is a good observation.
/r/MensRights08/01/21 04:02 PM
1

You are aware some of those patients are there as a direct result of having committed a criminal offence?
/r/MensRights08/01/21 03:49 PM
-1

And yet, I've seen exactly zero instances of you arguing that a man's mental health must have been a huge factor in him committing an atrocious crime If I had happened across a suitable thread I wished to engage with then absolutely I would have, don't make false equivalences. Trying to imply I'm somehow complicit in the unfair sentence gap between men and women for wondering whether or not her psychological state was a factor is a bit disingenuous.
/r/MensRights08/01/21 03:48 PM
1

There are no psychiatric units with male patients then?
/r/MensRights08/01/21 03:39 PM
1

Then why are you acting like one? Either you are deliberately misinterpreting what I've said or I haven't expressed myself properly. Considering my original comment states the level of contempt with which I veiw the crime I believe it may be the former. Edit: wondering if a factor played a role in the judhes ruling is NOT the same as agreeing with that ruling. Anyone with half a brain can see that.
/r/MensRights08/01/21 03:37 PM
-7

If you've been looking through my comment history you'd have seen my defence of men and masculinity as positive on a multitude of occasions. If you believe the sole reason this woman was let free was because of her being a woman then carry on. Whichout case specific details we won't know. I'm not here advocating she was let go pal, I'm just aware that psychological healthty people don't try to drown their newborns.
/r/MensRights08/01/21 03:31 PM
1

How is this an excuse? How is this justification? This is not me making a case that she correct thing has happened here, this is not me saying she should have been released. This is a speculation into what may have driven her to do it. In no way have I said she should not be held to account.
/r/MensRights08/01/21 03:26 PM
-11

I would say the same thing about a man in this instance. Do you beleive the only reason this woman went free is because she is a woman?
/r/MensRights08/01/21 03:21 PM
1

Point it out then mate.
/r/MensRights08/01/21 03:15 PM
1

Diminished mental capacity can be a direct cause of a problematic psychological state. Eg, a person suffering from schizophrenia and suffering hallucinations is capable of commiting a crime and being classed as mentally incapacitated due to their psychological state. I think you believe I'm talking about her mental health as in was she depressed or anxious.
/r/MensRights08/01/21 02:56 PM
1

There's nothing funny about it at all. Nor have I made any excuse or claimed her actions were not her fault.
/r/MensRights08/01/21 02:32 PM

Psychological state is absolutely taken into account during criminal investigation. Particularly in cases involving extreme violence and murder. My point is this, if a person commits a violent crime such as the murder of their child during a catastrophic psychological break, do we treat them the same as a killer who committed their offence with premeditated intent? I would argue no, and the killer whose breakdown in mental state could have been the catalyst for their crime shouldn't be thrown in…
/r/MensRights08/01/21 10:16 AM
-20

Any parent will acknowledge that her psychological state must have been extremely unhealthy in order for her to commit such a heinous act of violence against her own newborn. I'm in no way defending this person, veiw her actions with utter contempt. However, I am curious as to whether or not her psychological state was analysed and taken into consideration during her trial. It still doesn't explain why she walked free, she should be in a psychiatric unit for her safety and the safety of others.
/r/MensRights08/01/21 09:27 AM

Honestly, why would this be needed anyway? It's not like there are any male specific hygiene related emojis anyway... I am beginning to wonder if the human need for purpose, a cause, a struggle is so imbedded in our unconscious that people who don't have much else going on will resort to ludicrous campaigns like this to validate their claims of societal oppression.

We ended up here by me saying that ‘for men’ perpetuate a stereotype of how certain behavioral traits are the only right ones for men, capping it with how seeking out help for mental issues is seen by some as ‘for women’ (to make a point). "For Men" on a shampoo does not enforce negative social or behavioural expectations of how men are supposed to behave. It's literally a product aimed at men. Thats it. End of. This is even more peculiar, because at no point during that comment did I make the statement that men seek out mental health assistance as much as women. The comment doesn't even mention women. Look mate we have different opinions on the subject and that's okay, I don't feel there is much point in continuing this discussion as I don't want it to devolve into an argument. Take care.

You made the point that men seek out mental Help just as much as women do, which statistically isn’t true When did I say this mate?

Where did I ever say that? You made the accusation men don't seek out mental health due to emasculating one another. I'm saying thats rubbish. Of course men have mental health issues. Just like women. Those suffering don't always recognise they need help, they often don't understand the nature of their suffering or the fact they have a condition. Upon realisation many do seek help from various sources. Good job at taking literally everything I've just said and completely misunderstanding it thou…

No, I dismiss the lie that the issue stems from men belittling one another for needing mental health support.

I understood the point you were trying to make, and I believe that it was irrelevant and dishonest. The reason being is that no man I've ever met has described it as emasculating, or at all negative to look after one's mental health or seek support. I work in the construction industry, and construction workers are often perceived by the public to be perpetuators of 'toxic' masculinity. Be it wolf whistling, bullying disguised as banter or even a penchant for casual prejudices. Nothing. I repeat …

Caring if the "For Men" is or isn't there is absolutely a sign of a sheltered, comfortable life. However I believe caring about it's removal and the implications and undertones of it being removed after "hundreds" of complaints is a different situation. For a giant company like Radox, hundreds of complaints does not necessarily allude to a loss in sales, or drop in turnover. What it can lead do however, is bad press. The fact that a company can so easily be bullied into changing something so ino…

Who has ever said therapy is for women? That is a ridiculous statement to make, the history of psychoanalysis and therapy wasn't distinctly based on female only patients. The reason that you have the "For Men" tag is because Radox released a line of different fragrances aimed at men after primarily aiming their product range at women. Yet feminsm has an issue with this because it is limiting? That is a textbook example of a double standard.

The issue is that we, well a large chunk of society is gradually moving towards the removal and demonisation of anything traditionally male, or conceptually masculine. This sends a message to our young men and boys: "It is not okay to be a man."

This isn't inclusion. It is a small change in the graadual extinguishment of the male identity from society. If you honestly believe that "For Men" is a an instruction with potential to discriminate against people who might like the scent of the shampoo and limit its customers then I don't know how to help you. I use my sons baby bubble bath all the time. Not because I am 20 months old like him, but because it smells amazing.

I think it depends on what actions you are referring to when you say men are the ones you need protecting from. Sexual assault? Sure. Domestic abuse? Absolutely. Theft and random assalt on the steet? Definitely. Yet, for these reasons I have mentioned, which encapsulate multiple different scenarios, men and women have been perpetrators and victims on these acts. Neither side is completely innocent and neither side is completely guilty. There are far more things in the world and in life women req…

That is the most repugnant and condescending piece of garbage I am yet to see Vice attempt to pass off as an "article".

I'm not denying that the instances you describe exist, but to claim that 90-95% of men are undatable is either naivety or willful ignorance. While I acknowledge that many of your grievances towards men are completely valid it's important to remember that you: A - Have met, dated and experienced an astoundingly small portion of the male population which hinders your point that these characteristics are in fact applicable for such an overwhelming percentage of men. B - Are not an ambassador for wo…

In the sense the majority of women there have been hurt and are using a echo chamber consisting of hate aimed at men in general to feel better about their problems? If that's rehabilitation I can't see it doing much good!

You're not wrong there. FDS is an unpleasant sub to say the least, I can only be thankful that the veiws expressed there are not the views of the wider female community.

This doesn't seem like a quantifiable, provable argument.

If this is true then how do you explain the fact that 90-95% of men are not single?

Explain your "despite the fact that you're the soul financial provider"? If it means that you're working overtime and STILL doing the work your wife does, I wouldn't consider it very healthy since one part essentially does more than the other one. If it's just "I provide a little more" and still have the time", yeah, sure. But equal means equal. I work between 55 and 60 hours a week if you include the commute to my current project. I don't work overtime per say so I I'd be reluctant to describe …

You're describing the dynamics of a relationship then yes? In my opinion it's important to remember that every relationship is slightly different and shouldn't be dictated by gender roles, rather by what works best for you both as a team. Comprise is everything. My wife and I both contribute to the running of the house and raising/spending time with our kid despite the fact I'm the soul financial provider.

She’s not being “ignorant”. This is decision making based on a history of trauma and fear. Women DO have to be more cognizant of their surroundings and fearful. Why do they make fucking mace for women to take in a jog?!? And yes, this is a result of rape culture. For fuck sake. Why won't people like this acknowledge that the overwhelming majority of men veiw rape with the highest level of contempt possible? We do not live in a rape culture. We imprison rapists and as despise them at a societal l…
