One thing I'd like to add- why didn't you push back on her about these sudden reasons for "not clicking"? If you two really were vibing to the extent it sounds like, then this "relationship" might've been one apology away from salvaging. And if not, whatever, you've gained some valuable, honest feedback and on to the next. Would've been a win-win IMO.

While that may be, don't downplay the fact you still put yourself in the position to succeed. Sometimes all it takes is being in enough wrong places until it's the right place, right time.

Fair enough, but the title still belies my intent. I am interested in hearing about major(whatever that means to them) life changes/actions anyone made in order to improve at this stuff. I said that I was considering rearranging my entire summer, and subsequently my professional life, in order to do so, hopefully as an example at the sort of incidents I was getting at.

Does anyone else think too much "material" is a worse thing than too little? When I used to scour every single post in this sub, it'd always fuck my head up when I was out in the field as to what to focus on. Reading all 14 of these books, instead of maybe 1 or 2 then actually practicing, seems like a waste of time IMO.

Not sure I can think of a worse adjective to be than creepy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
