Maybe because you don’t enjoy anal sex when it’s obvious I’m not enjoying it at all? Maybe because you love me and so you don’t enjoy sex I barely tolerate? Maybe because you actually like me in general and you know that me feeling safe with you is better for both of us and our long term relationship?

Came here to say this. I did anal with an ex. I was young and stupid and felt like I had to. I guess my self-esteem was pretty low because I didn’t even consider telling him I didn’t want to. My husband says it’s obvious I’m not really enjoying it, so he never asked again after we did it once. Now that I’m with someone who cares about me and my self esteem is better, I wouldn’t do it. But he loves me… so he would never ask.

Women have nothing to offer besides sex? I don’t believe you really think that. I’m not going to try to change your view when you’re obviously just trolling.

I reject the notion of a slut. Because if you think about what slut means... It's a woman who likes sex. A woman who doesn't put arbitrary limits on how much sex she has. There may be issues with her wanting validation through sex and cheating is not good. Of course there corkage be other issues. But the "slutty" activity of wanting to have sex....is pretty human.

I should be shamed for enjoying the privileges of my life? By this logic, we should all be shamed for spending time in this app, as it is a privilege that not everyone has. Anyone who has taken a hot shower or slept on a nice mattress should be shamed for taking advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a pleasant experience.

Why did you respond if you didn’t understand? But what I meant was in traditional roles, women don’t work outside the home, so leaving an abusive/cheating/jerk husband may not work. She doesn’t make her own money, he may control her access to it, she may not own anything of value in her name, so she may feel the need to stay. If she leaves, her/her kid’s health and wellbeing are in jeopardy. She can’t guarantee she’ll have money for food or shelter. Whereas if my husband started treating me in a…

Well yes I was talking about divorce. I am not religious, I’ve been married 11 yrs, no plans to leave because I like my husband. All women are not the same… you get that we are all different people? I’m definitely not championing worse guys or playing games. My husband is very nice to me, but he’s definitely not pushover. I don’t need to stop anything.

Talks back? Someone can’t “talk back” unless there is an authority differential. Do you think there is one or should be one in a relationship? And if you say something she disagrees with, you respect a woman who keeps quiet? Rather than speaking up for herself and standing up for her beliefs?

And also then she has no option to leave if she needs to

My husband cums a bunch. I don’t like it at all. Why would I want more sticky foul smelling goo?

No. I had some more experienced guys who were players. Then I couldn’t believe what I’d been missing… with my sweet husband who actually likes me and is just enjoying the sex, not putting on a show. A guy who values and likes me and doesn’t want to leave after you have sex with him… turns out it makes me feel amazing.

Agree with all this. OP, I’ve never dated a man more than 3 years older than me. I have dated a bit younger. I’m baffled by women who prefer older men. Grey neck hair is not the turn-on you may think it is. That’s definitely not the norm.

That’s not a comprehensive list or anything. But those are some things most people generally pursue and hope for. Hopefully you’ll meet someone someday that will make you understand.

Weird that y’all keep asking us to marry you. And also that we are the ones asking for divorce majority of the time.

If you don’t know why would you bring up a hypothetical argument. I hardly think “what if is convincing”. Even by your what if argument you just told me women seek medical help more then men by your own argument more women are seeking help for depression. If more women are depressed more women can’t be happier. You seem to not be familiar with interpreting statistics. When scientists find something that is happening, they look for all the possible causes. It’s not always the first thing that occ…

So… not quite sure what your point is then. Personality disorders make you miserable? Is there some proof that women have more personality disorders? (Honestly I would be skeptical even if there were more diagnoses in women since, as I mentioned, women seek medical/mental help more than men.) That doesn’t really seem to indicate that women are miserable? Also sorry about your mom, but knowing one person with a personality disorder doesn’t necessarily mean you have knowledge of the whole populati…

Being medicated for personality disorder means you’re miserable? I used to work in mental health… the unmedicated people with personality disorders actually seemed more upset tbh. I’m on antidepressants and I can verify I’m happier on them. I’ve got a strong genetic depression/anxiety issue that therapy can help, but meds are an important part of the equation. I’m not saying women are necessarily happier, as I haven’t really looked at the data and it doesn’t sem really important for me to know t…

Well if your point isn’t that men are happier, then what is it? Because this data doesn’t say anything about married vs single women? Women getting on more and more antidepressants may be the result of more doctors offering or suggesting them. Women have long struggled with postpartum depression and depression around menopause. I don’t know how effective antidepressants are in helping with those issues, but pharmaceutical companies surely will capitalize on a new market. Also antidepressant use …

Well women are simply more likely to access healthcare and take medication regularly. Many men seem to feel it violates their masculinity if they seek help or take care of themselves. So this statistic seems more a reflection of that issue than the fact that men are happier imo. I mean, it certainly doesn’t seem like men are just all happier.

I like all but status and wealth-bragging. My man does very well financially, but you would never know that looking at his cars (5 yr old sedan), watch (Apple, not Rolex), or clothes (from the outlet mall). I know I’m not the average, but I definitely will not be into a guy with a brand new sports car or revving up their big pickup truck. My man is wisdom and knowledge… I’d like a bit more action and competence, but he’s not really lacking either.

Intelligence trumps all. If he’s gorgeous I will not be interested at all if all he knows is how his team played this weekend. I definitely don’t think “he can/can’t take care of me”… I don’t need to be taken care of. I just want someone who likes to be around me and who I like to be around. Someone with thoughts and opinions that are interesting. I don’t consider it trying to obtain a man… I don’t want to obtain most of them!

Why? Is it bad to be a good mother and have strong family values? Now who’s intentionally interpreting in bad faith? Obviously I meant it’s gross that you don’t have anything positive to say about her personally. Everyone has different ideas about what a good mother is. And I’ve always found “strong family values” to be oddly political and vague term. I suspect your definition would include some things which I would say are bad. You know what religious people think is the most important aspect o…

I'm with her because she has strong family values, and is a good mother. Well it’s gross that these are the only reasons you can think of. Just because I don't think my woman is a god tier human-being … No one said anything about god-tier. But feeling that someone is (one of) the most important aspect of your life usually leads you to choose them for long term serious commitment. My husband doesn’t think I’m god-tier but I am pretty much the most important aspect of his life, and he is in mine. …

I would say yes. I certainly don't go to her with my problems, or discuss major life decisions with her. Then what are you doing with her? Why are you together? Maybe your asking this question is you looking for a good reason to ditch her. Go for it… I’m pretty sure she’d find a more fulfilling relationship with someone who values her more than you do. Our conversations can get serious when it comes to our relationship, but for the most part we keep things light-hearted and fun. How can they get…

Does your partner know this is how you feel? I would be bummed if my husband thought our relationship was not stronger and he got the same thing from friendships. Since you need relationships explained, that means: -if one of you gets in an accident, you will support and care for each other. Your friends aren’t going to do that. They have their own lives and families… they can’t all make such a commitment. They may visit you or make you a meal, but they’re not going to move in and take care of y…

I’m pretty sure the vast majority of history and culture hasn’t actually given women a chance to be in the workforce. And if you assume “capable” equals hours worked in a place of employment, then yes men have worked more hours. I don’t think capability is the same as working a certain number of hours. My boss is a doctor who usually works 4 days per week. Are they less capable than doctors who work 7 days per week?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/23 06:21 PM

And if a woman makes the choice to have a child, is she less capable? Not always but generally yes. Disagree that it’s generally true, but let’s assume it is. In those cases where it’s not the case, which you admit exist, would those women be less capable? So a nurse productivity is correlated with her hours. Is she less capable than an office worker? If the office workers can get their work done in 20 or 30 hours… if a woman can do that, is she more capable than a nurse?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/23 06:01 PM

So… are women less capable because they have children? Because that’s the same idea, they need more time off for that. This also assumes that hours spent at work automatically equals productivity, which I don’t believe is reasonable in all industries. Yes some jobs like retail or food service will track hours with productivity. But plenty of office workers could get their jobs done in less than 40 hours per week. Their productivity wouldn’t suffer with les time spent at the office. I am going to…

Perhaps this is what you don’t seem to understand: some people want relationships. Not need. My husband and I each lived on our own for years before we got together. We didn’t need each other or commit because of certain skills or what we could do for each other. It is a desire for companionship, intimacy. We like being together… we didn’t need each other. We just wanted each other.

Well that would suck to know my partner chose me just because he needed me to do something for him. If someone isn’t self-sufficient, surely they can hire a maid or a cook or handyman or whatever… No need to get into a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/23 03:27 AM

I don’t understand… what would be an argument for why a man should commit if he doesn’t want to? Regardless of how self-sufficient and awesome a man is or isn’t, the only reason for him to commit to a relationship is if he wants to. What other reason could there be?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/23 09:17 PM

Remember. In this hypothetical we are talking about a man being "the complete package" and that means he gets what he wants without commitment. Well that’s an insane hypothetical. A man can’t get a monogamous relationship with woman he wants without commitment. The point of this post is that people will try to provide arguments for a guy that is the complete package to commit. There aren’t arguments for that. No one is saying that men should commit. If he doesn’t want a particular woman, he shou…

Without commitment, a person that you want to stick around will leave. If you don’t want a particular person and don’t feel lonely with a revolving door of different partners and no one ever connects and develops intimacy with you and you’re happy with that, then yeah, don’t commit. That’s fine. I don’t know why you feel like there is pressure to commit if you don’t want to.

If you don’t want to commit, then you shouldn’t. You may meet someone one day who makes you feel differently. But if not, stay single, that’s fine. Why would that be a problem?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/23 01:21 PM

The only incentive to commit to someone, by either sex, is if you want a commitment from them. If a man betters himself and now decides he doesn’t need/want a relationship, then of course he gets to make that choice. If he doesn’t want a commitment from any woman, then he should stay single. Obviously this goes both ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/23 01:18 PM

I’ve heard that men all want sex and women all want a commitment… I haven’t seen that actually play out all the time. I don’t know many men who don’t want a relationship. I do know some women who don’t care about sex, but I also know women who aren’t getting as much sex in their relationship as they would like (including myself a few months ago). So I don’t agree with the gendered assumption that men are the gatekeepers of commitment and women are the gatekeepers of sex. That may happen the most…

Disagree. I want that guy. I married that guy. Going after “bad boys” is encouraging bad behavior! Why would I want a financially irresponsible guy without a decent job?
