Failure to do so has usually been the friendzone/child shoulder after. Otherwise what was the point of it. You took her out and that's it? It's rare you ever get a serious chance after. She was interested enough in you to go out on a date, leave her with something on a good note. Obviously it can end with a kiss as long as it goes well. But not kissing if it does is kinda meh.
