So you're saying despite a huge romance vocabulary and french influence that the most commonly used vocabulary in English is germanic? Indeed. Near to 60% Germanic. You are confused by the vocabulary, but no matter the vocabulary, the grammar is still Germanic. This study seems to back up my thinking What that study doesn't tell you is that that 25% Germanic vocabulary makes up anywhere from 60-80% of everyday English words. You can write and even speak only Germanic words in English if you wanted, you would be hard pressed to do it with more than one or two words of Latinate vocabulary.	/r/TheRedPill	26/06/13 03:20 PM
