School newspaper would probably enjoy this article for a journalism project.

I always shit in the single user/accessible washrooms at work so much more relaxing and they spent millions putting them in.

the $2 for anchoring materials (probably already provided with the furniture TBH) and the $5-10/room for labor seems like a no-brainer expense.

The fact that mens issues are being tied up with otherwise problematic voices. IMO we don't have good representatives of the issues affecting men and young men. You can just take a look at the Jordan Peterson narrative that's popped up in the last week. He as several valid points but it's being drowned out by his past and who he's been as a person.

Your second paragraph adds 0 value and has nothing to do with your point. It's a useless whataboutism and detracts from the points you're trying to make IMO.

OP I know it seems that way right now but you're doing most of the right things. I would honestly recommend you make some platonic friendships with women, no ulterior motives.

There are plenty of men out there who's lives will be better off with great access to abortion care, I just don't see how the step back in women's rights is going to actually be positioned as a step forward for reducing circumcisions around the globe. The same people who want to ban abortions are very happy to let religious leaders cut babies dicks all day. This is such a fringe position I don't see how it does anything other than muddy the abortion discussion waters further about something that…
/r/MensRights06/07/22 01:03 AM

In what universe does conservative = fewer circumcisions in your mind? Conservatives are major proponents of religious fundamentals which includes circumcision as mandatory, encouraged or at least common, in many major religions. I don't see how following a broadly conservative agenda drives any progress on this specific issue.

This isn't the time for silly whataboutism. It's the time to stand up for women's bodily autonomy and ask them to do the same for us when the time comes. Posts like this give MRA subs a bad name. I'm sure I'll get plenty of downvotes here for this position but you aren't progressing either agenda with a mentality like this!

I don't think I'd be in a rush to make permanent life altering decisions at 15. Looking back at it I didn't have the experience to understand what would be important to me and why as I got older.
/r/MensRights27/01/22 03:56 PM
-10

In my experience this ends up being a whataboutism instead of its own conversation. Women talking about women victims and then men bringing up male victims. Almost never are male victims discussed independently which is the actual problem.

Always stay calm and factual, which is what you should do when you run into angry folks in the wild. Trying to understand her perspective, empathising with her experience and trying to understand where she's learning things from can also defuse situations. She'll always be your sister, she may not always be illogical, or feminist or anything she is today.

It's certainly a target at companies in Canada but where I'm at they always hire the right person but there is pressure to add women to the ranks. That said the man/woman ratio is sometimes over 9-1.

This is hard to read man. I've been you before, but it feels like a lifetime ago now. All I can offer is there a point where you're sufficiently motivated or sufficiently disgusted and want to take action. You can let it lead you to toxic behaviour that will poison your life and your relationships (current and future) or it can motivate you to work towards a life you want to live and a person you want to be. When you're in a state of integrity and you're whole and complete people can't bully you…

In the many discussions I've had around toxic masculinity, it's defined as it's own kind of masculinity. If people are saying "Toxic masculinity" as in all masculinity is toxic those people need to jump off a bridge. I do think there is a lot of merit to the term (There are ways that masculinity presents itself that can be harmful to people), but to imply that all masculinity is Toxic wholly unhelpful and should be immediately refuted.

This sounds like solid advice, just like: don't walk down dark alleys at night to help protect yourself from rapists. This is a take your dad to class day. It could have been written in a gender neutral way but it isn't bad advice for any parent.

Did you ever review your sheet? You probably missed the mark elsewhere and the parking took it over the edge. Her scores were flawless elsewhere.

While I agree with you, this is not the only metric they are being tested on (obviously) however this is the only one in the report being missed, and even then, just barely.
/r/MensRights11/11/13 06:49 AM

The whole concept of slippery slope is pretty bogus. It's a commonly used strawman argument. We're talking about a very small percentage miss on 1 metric.

This isn't true, my sister couldn't parallel park and passed, this was in Ontario.
/r/MensRights11/11/13 06:45 AM
-19

Yes, but just because someone tested below (barely) a single standard doesn't mean they can't do the job. This seems to me to be making a mountain out of a mole hill. Just cause you suck at parallel parking doesn't mean you can't get your license, you just have to make up the lost points elsewhere.

I might get downvoted but here's my dose of moderation: "In her last try, on Halloween, she clocked a 12:23, still too slow." I mean I get the idea of "mandatory testing" but if she scored highly elsewhere and was only 20 seconds short on 1 physical test I feel like it is a little douchey to not pass her. She's not even off by 3%... There is no mention of her not doing well elsewhere, and I'm not sure if I really give a shit if my firefighter can run a mile and a half compared to some of the oth…

My (almost) senior RMT still knows how to beat me up. I don't know whether that says something about her, or about me, but she gives a pretty good message.

My Message therapist is almost a senior. she was telling me about how she started message school in her early 50's and all of the ageism that goes on. I'd imagine this is doubling up on that as well, and while I'm sure gender is a factor, age would also probably be a factor here (not that I'm excusing it). Not sure if this context contributes at all to the conversation, just thought I'd share.

Step #1 stop talking about boats on Seddit. Step #2 Just give yourself permission to get excited about shit. Step #3 Get excited about shit even if you're not really excited about it. Step #4 Make sure you're in good health to have the energy/drive to get excited about anything. Step #5 If you can't get excited about anything, go see a psychiatrist. Could be something chemically out of whack. =)

I'm also 5'7" and been with a couple of 6" ers' Not for anything long term, but Chazzington's post actually made a lot of sense. Tall women are inherintly less approachable, thus are approached less and thus are probably more open to being approached. In both cases I established that despite them being taller that they were definitely the bottoms in the situation and that there was no other way it could be. Challenging them seemed to work. I am not really much of an artist, just very comfortable…

I disagree. Unless they're waiting for a bus you can see coming from the distance, why not make time then? If I was approached by an attractive woman, whatever I had to do that day just got pushed up the schedule, more than likely.

I'd hate to say this but I'd have to observe your personality traits or appearance to personally comment on what might make YOU unapproachable. Being less fashion forward and hipster(ish) helps, and avoiding anything that might imasculate a target. Long story short: Just take a look at the list of IoIs and do that, then regardless of whether or not you're approachable you can give him pretty obvious hints that you are open & interested. I feel that if abortion didn't carry with it such heavy emotional and potential physical costs I'd be on board with you, but as a man who considers him self a gender egalitarian I'm not sure how much men are entitled to when it comes to reproductive rights post conception.

/r/seduction27/10/11 06:36 AM

I would use this as a learning point, to illustrate how media impacts our thoughts. Ask your daughter before this episode if she ever thought for a second that you were capable of that kind of thing and then ask her to really look at the fact that this show, independent of a lifetime of proof to the contrary, pushed these concerns into her 'space'. We take for granted how impressionable we think we are compared to how impressionable we are.

I think you seriously overestimate peoples willingness to help others in these types of situations. You can find hundreds of examples of. Group/crowd inaction when an obvious injustice occurs.
/r/MensRights14/10/11 03:01 PM
1

I mean that sometimes, especially in groups the law of man tends to disapear along with decency and plenty of other good attriubutes. To say that these guys only reinforced the biggotry, could be overlooking the real danger they were in or the simple reality of the situation which meant that their presence impeeded the performance. Not saying it's right, but i am saying that when you're surrounded by a mob sometimes principles lose precidence over realities.
/r/MensRights14/10/11 02:59 PM

Sometimes when you're that outnumbered, the reality of the situation takes prescidence over the ideal outcome. If you're ever surrounded by an angry crowd that is against you, you'll know what I mean.
/r/MensRights14/10/11 05:09 AM

Part of the reality that men need to overcome is the fagshaming, and the other "real man" sterotypes that keep our lives limited. Get the fuck over it, whether you suck cock, eat pussy or feverishly masturbate, this is about making sure we all get a fair crack at everything. =)

Looking for some honest advice: so I went to a practice today where I was a guest speaker/expert and it's a mostly female sport, and there was one girl who was probably pro 15-20 of the IOIs and none of the IODs. I didn't get her # or anything because we got no alone time, but I know I could get in contact with her through the organizer/facebook or something. I am going back next week, how should I approach her?

I refuse to give traffic to a site that supports misogyny, the same way that I wouldn't support a site that is pro Misandry. I have read some of the other comments on this post, and commented on a couple. It seems like most people agree with me, and I'm always pro-provocative conversations. =)
/r/MensRights05/05/11 06:15 PM

If I get the crap beaten out of me and my money taken, am I partially to blame? From a legal standpoint, no, a common sense standpoint? absolutely. Should those that robbed me be punished? Yep, they should. This is the key, application of responsibility onto the victim should never happen.
/r/MensRights05/05/11 03:21 PM

How does this belong in /mensrights? This should go into /misogyny if there is such a thing. Or perhaps in /betas flaunting her sexual power over men. A woman may have sexual power over the author but to say they do over all of us is a disgusting generalization. Many feminists (men and women) simply see women as further disadvantaged than men, this is part in parcel with the fact that their movement has a good deal more momentum due to the fact that they were severely more disadvantaged. What the /mensrights followers need to do is keep the feminist movement from allotting advantages to women over men. Equal rights should mean just that equal rights. I'm no more pro men than I am Pro women, I'm pro equality.
