People have different interpretations of what kids can mean to them. Logically, you're right. Our kids aren't us. We can't scientifically live on in them. But if we're talking spiritually and/or from an emotional standpoint, we can provide them a moral footprint and give them our love and care, then we can live on in their memories, and if we're lucky, maybe they'll pass on the good things we taught them onto their children as well.
