Hey man! Longtime exmo here, my STBXW is Mormon. She decided to cheat with a guy she met on Trek this summer. Anyways, I can't say I left a controlling religion at the same time as my split but I can empathize with the negative role it can play in a marriage. I think you'll find it's better without that influence in your life.

Man, this is inspirational. I feel like I'm on that same path but you are further down the road than me. It does feel great to have hobbies and be in the best shape of my life, it will be awesome when I can totally stop caring about my ex (who is totally monkey branching instead of working on herself).

Hinge and Match are where I've had the most luck. Got quite a few dates out of both. Talking to other divorced guys bumble and Facebook dating also seem like good options. Good luck!

Well I focused on dating single moms, so they understood the dynamics and scheduling issues. Really had no problem getting dates and I'm in a relationship several months after my separation. Not sure that's a universal experience and not sure how it would have gone if I had dated more women without kids. On a side note, learning how to use dating apps after being married since 2010 was wild.

I was there as well, glad it didn't happen now. I was married 15 years, have three kids, wife cheated, and did my share of begging. I'd recommend reaching out for help and getting on a safety plan. I'd also strongly suggest getting any guns all the way out of the house, not just locked up. Therapy, medication, try to quit drinking if that's a factor, exercise, and time. Still healing myself but it's made a huge difference asking for help.

Hey man, that's literally the first thing I said when I started post divorce therapy. The fear is real, but heal yourself and you'll find someone if it's what you want. It doesn't seem like it when the hurt is fresh but there are plenty of amazing women out there, you just have to accept some grinding through the dating world until you find the right one.

I feel you. Almost in the same situation. 15 years, caught her cheating 3 months ago, been rebuilding fast after being at my absolute lowest. Now dating a great woman who makes me happy but I can't seem to shake feeling down sometimes. Definitely feels good to be complimented again though. Thanks for sharing your experience.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
