It's cheaper to pay for free abortions than to pay for thousands of kids that single parents can't afford to raise. There's a lot more than money at stake here, but arguing the point from a cost-savings point of view doesn't make much sense. It's much cheaper to provide free contraception, but again, there are other issues involved.

RAINN says that 10% of reported rapes 'may' be false, The numbers range from about 5% verified false claims to the 40-50% range for cased dismissed for lack of evidence. Men and women both do bad things. As a society, we've tacitly decided that the bad things men do are more likely to result in incarceration than the bad things women do. But these social norms and criminal laws were settled on a long time ago and no longer reflect the modern reality that women should have equal rights to the space in our prison systems.
