When a woman asks you "What are you thinking about?" You must always give the Al Bundy answer - "If I wanted you to know, I'd be talking." 😀 Just like with the cops, anything you say can and will be held against you.

In most cases it won't matter to them. Blood is thicker than water. They will rationalize her cheating as you not being there for her in one way or another. Grieve and then move on.

I'm a couple of years removed from your current situation. Occupy yourself with your hobbies and keep yourself in physical shape. Keep your relationship with your kids intact. Hang in there, it gets better.

I read the following comment someplace and thought it was so good that I saved it - "Imagine being bitten by a snake, and instead of focusing on healing from the poison, you chase the snake to understand why it bit you and to prove to it that you didn't deserve to be bitten."

You've all seen that statue with the three monkeys - see, hear & speak no evil. That was my ex FIL regarding any possibility that there was anything wrong with his daughter's behavior regarding a dozen different issues. The only thing I tell my children is that if his sons were being treated like I was being treated during my marriage, I'm pretty sure he'd feel quite differently about it.

But on the plus side, we can all help Elon Musk get to a TRILLION dollars in net worth. And after all, isn't that what's really important here? /s Fucking Republicans.

Fantastic. Also, you've all heard the expression "The best revenge is living well" right? Well I heard a variation on that one that I'm trying to live by. It goes - "The best revenge is reaching the point where you no longer care about revenge."

As far as in-laws go it's the rare bird who is going to be fair minded and will take your side, (or at least remain neutral) against their own blood, even if you are completely in the right. Most in-laws are going to fall into the "blood is thicker than water" category. My MIL was of the first type, but is unfortunately now deceased. I miss that woman every day. My FIL is of the second type and does not want to know a God damned thing about his daughter's two + decades of fuck up's. I consider i…

Economic advantages? I had to go into my 401k& IRA savings plans fifteen times during the marriage for loans or withdrawals in order to save our asses from financial disasters of her creation. Also, multiple mortgage refinances, inheritances blown, tax disasters, collectibles and jewelry disappeared. etc.. etc.. Of course none of this means a thing legally speaking when it comes time to get a divorce. There is no penalty at all for her decades of financial screwups. You get bent over in the marr…

Made my wife's ringtone (unofficially separated for 2+ years) on my phone "Stupid Girl" by Garbage. "Stupid girl. Stupid girl. All you had you wasted, all you had you wasted." It's childish but it gives me a laugh. 🤣

For those of you not already familiar do yourself a favor and google the story of the scorpion and the frog. It's a woman's nature to find a reason to be unhappy with you, just as it's the scorpion's nature to sting in that story.

We all know the old expression "the best revenge is living well" right? Well that's true enough but recently I heard a variation on that expression and I like the variation even better. here's the saying that's been my mantra the past year and a half of unofficial separation, living in same house. "It's a marathon, not a sprint." I want to be around for the end of the marathon. Outlast the MF'ers. That's my plan.

The explosive poop thing is hysterical. I read about another technique to get similar results, although I've not tried it personally. You put a rubber band around your wrist and when you wake up in the middle of the night and start thinking of your wife and the other guy you're supposed to snap the rubber band. After a little while to avoid the pain the snapped rubber band causes you, you'll stop thinking the thought that makes you snap the rubber band. Like I said I've not done it personally bu…

"Maybe by the time the payback comes around, you won’t even care. Remember, love and hate are neighbors. The true opposite is indifference." Yep. I read the following quote somewhere recently. "The best revenge is getting to a point where you no longer care about revenge." That's what I'm personally shooting for.

The false DV charge seems to be at the top of the list in the unwritten women's divorce playbook. You can get out now, or you can try and make it work and probably still get screwed years down line. (but then with children and more assets involved)

I'm not divorced, just separated. For the past couple of years my wife has been hanging out with almost nothing but divorced women, or women that are separated from their husbands, or women that are still married but can't stand their husbands. Some of these women have recently had lap band surgeries or had their boobs done and so they are suddenly feeling real sexy again. So you can guess that there is NOBODY among that group of cackling hens that is going to tell my wife to try and fix things …

Does infidelity matter in a divorce in the state you're in? If so you might want to try to get proof of the event.

Ah yes, the wife's support system of women telling your wife - "You go, girl!" Isn't it wonderful? /s In my wife's case I call it the "Happy Divorcee's Club." It's nothing but a bunch of women who are divorced, separated, or maybe even still married, but openly think that their husbands are nothing but assholes. Some of them have recently had boob jobs and/or lap band surgeries and are suddenly feeling real sexy again after not having men give them a second look for decades. From experience I'll…

The problem is that the same woman that is legitimately 100% into you today might think you're an asshole 10 or 20 years down the line. There is no way to know this.

I think it is very smart of you to come here to get an idea of what kind of screwing you're in for if, as will happen about 50% of the time, you and your wife don't work out. I would generally advise men not to get married unless their wife is the big breadwinner in the family. The laws are just too tilted in the woman's favor in the case of divorce.

The problem is that if even if you had known about the infidelity of the friends and you had said to her that you therefore didn't want her to hang out with those women, she would inevitably twist it around to you being a controlling, untrusting scumbag of a husband, and resent the hell out of you for it. I really feel like men can't win in today's world.

Was hanging with group of maybe a dozen couples before separation with wife. Post separation literally ONE guy has contacted me to see how I am and try to hang out. What a wonderful feeling, especially around the holidays, and especially when you have no family. /s

Man, this sounds so familiar. Probably also has a support system of friends that consists of nothing but divorced women, separated women, and women who are married but think their husbands are assholes. In other words, a group of cheerleaders shouting "You go, girl!"

Oh man did you hit the nail on the head. Was hanging out with about ten different couples before separating from wife. I was not a cheater or a wife beater or a drug/gambling addict or a deadbeat, etc.. etc... We were just always fighting over the usual married stuff. So after separation, out of ten guys, how many do you think have made an attempt to say "Hey bro, wanna go grab a beer some night?" A whopping ONE. To say I'm a bit disappointed would be quite the fucking understatement. I'm wonder…

Whenever we men hear someone, especially another man, say "happy wife happy life" we should correct that person with "happy spouse happy house" meaning that the men in the relationship deserve to be happy too.

I'm not divorced, but separated. I assume with most people, it's not one thing, but several. My list Never ending financial disasters. Wife is a born emasculator, without remorse. Also assumes she is in charge of everything without any such permission given by me. Your wishes are appreciated BUT unfortunately "That and five dollars will get us a cup of Starbucks coffee." "taxation is theft" Yeah sure it it. BUT I've never met any of these "taxation is theft" people that volunteer to give up their own SS or Medicare, or don't want a strong military, (the military budget is $715 BILLION dollars a year, by the way) or police or firemen, or passable roads, bridges, etc...
