It's a legal fucking document. That you sign. With witnesses. You can have a big party with all your friends to celebrate your commitment if you want. Hell, just take the fucking word and call yourself married. It doesn't change the fact that the guys in these stories signed a contract that BY DESIGN provides both parties with equal wealth upon separation. It's always been about the money. You don't need a binding contract for "romance and religion and all that sappy stuff".

A marriage doesn't help you do either of those things.

I bang people all the time without them taking half of my net wealth. Take a guess why that is. Saying that marrying a person gives them half of your stuff is ridiculous it's like saying getting a meal when you pay at a restaurant is ridiculous. It's the intended function. You go to a restaurant for a meal, it's not some horrid side effect that accidentally popped up. What do you people think the point of a marriage is?

They ARE a team. That's what a marriage is. Why the fuck do you ignorant muppets keep failing to understand that? He signed a fucking contract that stated that they are a single economic unit. Wtf do you honestly want? Some form of arrangement where he earns his money as an independent person and she earns hers as an independent person and neither is entitled to the others stuff? That exists. It's called NOT GETTING MARRIED. Not a difficult concept.

Yeah that was probably poor phrasing on my part. I meant more "what is the point in reading/learning more more about reality". It's just a tool like any other. No problem. Most criticism I heard when considering medication usually came down to "it works but at these costs" and all of those costs seemed fine to me. Nobody seemed to prioritise telling me "there's a good chance they just wont work". Once I was already on them and they weren't working I looked them up and they are are definitely mor…

If you have a problem it is always alright to solve it. Depression is no exemption and I'd consider it one of the most important things a person could ever fix. What is the red pill of not a way to achieve happiness? When you seek treatment I'd strongly recommend going for therapy first. Medication doesn't help everyone, and in particular each different kind of medication can help different people. They all also take a long time to kick in. I wasted a lot of time not only not getting better but …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
