Chances are if you are smoking because of depression, you would need to treat that first anyway. You don't need to be depressed for MAOis to have effects, and your body will become accustomed to those effects regardless of your mental health. The only people I've ever seen quit smoking did so using vapour pens with gradually lower nicotine dosage. If you dislike vapour pens, you could have a time-lock safe with your cigarettes, and get your daily allowance out in the morning right after your fir…

Nicotine is a weak MAOi, which are often used to treat depression. Quitting them cold turkey is pretty rough. It may be worthwhile to ween yourself off.

In case none of the other commenters have said this, here are some good sides that don't contain stereotypical vegetables and will make up for a lot of the fiber and vitamins he's missing out on: Nuts Fruits/berries Dairy products (like cheese, yogurt, etc) Breads Dips (like guacamole, salsa, etc) You should talk to him about this. Tell him that there are ways to eat vegetables that mask the flavor (see: meatloaf), and ways that alter the flavor enough to make it pleasant (see: cheesy vegetables…

So it's a joke? I was pretty economically left when I was younger (I didn't really know anything about economics, it was more of a title) but had to give up that opinion when I saw that government intervention pretty much never works out in favor of citizens, and that I would be not only supporting but also relying on my peers. That was a scary thought, as I've grown up around countless people who are a whole new level of stupid.

I have a question about something you mentioned. Why is representation important? Managers would ideally do what's best for the company, not their gender, so promoting a woman to manager for the sake of representation instead of skill seems pointless.

For starters: Being masculine and being a "shark" is unnecessary to be a CEO and isn't fighting for equal rights by any means. Next, you can be feminine and ambitious simultaneously. You can also be feminine at home and dominant at work. Most of the women here (and most women naturally) aren't interested in devoting their life to work, which is necessary in many important roles. It isn't satisfying for most women, which is what brings people to this sub's ideology. Lastly, most people on the Red…

This is probably the case, however there's another option. /u/sunhappydc's SO may be a submissive person himself, and want a woman to take the lead. [he] wants a strong and self-reliant woman who can help him out with his goals and responsibilities Those don't sound like the words of a strong, ambitious, self-reliant man. I may be wrong though.

Everyone starts with conclusions based on their worldview and work backwards, except when they actively practice science and philosophy. Men just have an easier time abandoning their worldview for a more correct one.

You said "what if men could get pregnant", and female is defined as a sexually reproducing organism which carries eggs. Men have evolved to be the best at what they've been doing for all of history, and women evolved to be the best at what they do. Not only does the ability to become pregnant make the men female, but if they had to carry the baby, they would've been selected on the ability to do that successfully. Nobody forced women to get pregnant and stay at home. Many women throughout histor…

I'm having a hard time believing you read what I said, considering you didn't address the content of my reply. The only feminists who act on their beliefs and make an impact are the ones who aggressively proclaim their ideology to the world. They're the ones I use when imagining the ideology. The ones who write books that are taught out of in women's studies classes. The ones who campaign. The ones who coin all the terms. You're right, there are some great men who have yet to be snatched up in their late 20s and early 30s, but they're a small fraction of what a feminine young woman would have available to her.

I don't bother including people who don't think for themselves and don't act on their beliefs into the equation when discussing feminist politics. They, from a practical position, don't exist. Believe it or not, many redpillers were feminists at one point. Almost all redpillers grew up in a feminist society. I can't speak for the others, but I know I have a better understanding of feminist policy and feminist literature than most of the armchair feminists I mentioned before. Before I was willing…

Your question doesn't mean anything. If men got pregnant and gave birth, they would be women. That's like saying "what if 2+2=5". It's impossible to imagine that situation because it, by the definition of male and female, cannot exist.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/11/15 06:07 PM

I believe they were referring to the major feminist magazines, authors, public speakers, and general representatives. The rational, intelligent armchair feminists may have a different outlook, but they aren't as popular or loud as the ones /u/NalkaNalka was likely meaning.

Universally? Yes. While many men will claim to not care, fMRIs tell a different story. social taboos against women exploring their sexuality has been fading in modern society The word "fading" is misleading, as is the phrase "exploring their sexuality" in this context. Feminism is the root of the major push for male sexual preferences to be ostracized. Sexuality can be "explored" without being promiscuous. she can settle down whenever she's ready Not with the quality men she could've in her yout…

This may be the case, and has funny implications considering many hormonal birth controls cause low testosterone. That said, the lowered testosterone production could be made up for through the saliva of male partners. Something to keep in mind is that many changes occur permanently at 26 weeks after conception, so while injecting a grown woman with testosterone would cause pruning similar to that of male maturation (but on a smaller scale), it wouldn't entirely reverse ingrained synaptic pathwa…

Your last statement would only be true if I said "not all men have a y chromosome". I assume it stems from a misunderstanding of what AWALT is, which is rather common here among non-endorsed contributors. Feel free to ignore this and I apologize if this is condescending. AWALT refers to the innate attributes of women that TRP has deduced: All women are hypergamous, solipsistically and emotionally inclined, and are prone to subconsciously rationalizing any action that would benefit them. If a wom…

Maybe they have just given up. This is exactly it. Men who grew up under feminism, being told they're what's wrong with the world, having their government set up blockades against them in the name of equality, having no male role models. It's not a good system to raise functioning men. I'd say they made up about quarter of my male highschool classmates.

The negative view of women on TRP is well deserved. Men aren't* great** either, but leftists and modern society have, for the most part, thrown out the old standards women were held to by their communities. TRP is about recognizing there are standards to be had, then raising them to your heart's desire. I can't speak for other redpillers, but my view of most women, and many men not having hobbies comes from the interactions I have in my daily life. I don't read about go to parties, but I am a st…

Your body uses a certain amount of calories to continue existing and get through your day(your BMR/Basil metabolic rate). If you want to lose weight, eat less than your BMR, or exercise to burn more calories to make up for your eating more. Exercise doesn't burn many calories, though, unless it's intense. Do some research into Keto if you want to lose fat quickly. It's a way to feel full constantly while eating at a calorie deficit. I also suggest you read Fork Use 101 & 102 by Whisper.

10/10 would read your reply again You may have gut "feelings" regarding the "accuracy" (what does this even mean?) In the specific study I was referring to, men said higher than was true, while women said lower than was true. I said it would feasibly be similar because men want to appear strong, while women (tend to) prefer victimhood.

How is this relevant to RP women? Where is the study? All I see is someone else's interpretation of data that isn't being made available to us. Also, this is closer to a poll than a study. It also has tons of variables that aren't accounted for, and simply asked men and women to "rate how hurt they were". I have a feeling this is inaccurate for a lot of the same reasons to polling how many sexual partners men and women have had.

Not really. AWALT doesn't mean "all women are exactly the same", it means "all women have a biologically-caused tendency towards certain behaviors". Women are capable of logic, but are inclined towards emotion. They are capable of monogamy, given the right man who has the characteristics she needs (protector, provider, and procreator), but are inclined towards duality/branch-swinging/infidelity/etc because most modern men lack the alphaness they crave, and those who have it don't bother with the…

And if you don't think you want to do any of those or similar things, do them anyway. I promise that you'll have a lot more fun and it will be much more fulfilling than you have imagined. Many new RPers still have some of their old jock shaming habits (the tendency to feel intellectually superior to all athletic/outdoorsy people to avoid feeling inferior), and seem to have a hard time believing they'll enjoy anything like that.

I'm not saying guys above 55 can't pull the same amount of ass, but at that point everyone will know you're old despite any efforts. At 40, with proper care, you could fit in with a group of 20yos and they wouldn't be any the wiser.

He's making a rule that is supposed to cover all men, but RP men are head and shoulders above the rest. Sure, being an average guy (not taking care of your body, getting lazy, being in a stagnant profession, etc) you would experience a wall where you can no longer consider yourself in the ranks of men in their peak. If you're a RPer though, and take it seriously, I'd say 55 is the point where you stop being able to pass as 25-30, even with proper self-care.

Most of us have been diagnosed with ADHD, because it's natural boy behavior. Some members of the population happen to be slightly less capable of keeping dopamine in the synaptic cleft of their prefrontal cortex - not a bad thing, but you have to recognize this and act accordingly. This might not be the right place, but I have a question: I intend to major in Chemical Engineering with a biology minor. I'd like to also get a Business minor so I have a better chance of moving into management positions or starting a business based on my patents. I've been told management is a shitty concentration, especially for a minor. Is this true, and if so, what should I concentrate the minor in, or should I drop it altogether?

Related note; Do none of you use lotion? I get that it's not incredibly masculine, but dry skin is a terrible feeling.

To successfully shit test, you must do so with conviction. You also won't have time between replies to stop and think "have I gone far enough?", so before you know it you'll be threatening to drop to person entirely over something you don't actually care about.

very common for White folks to be so arrogant about being White There was another thread on TRP which will explain your confusion, it mentioned "common words with uncommon definitions". "White" refers to a skin color, but also to a group of cultures, as does "Black". Many people (at least in the US) with black skin color are poor, stupid, entitled assholes for the same reasons women are; Instead of equal opportunity, America strives for equal outcome. They try to hand out success to those who do…

it's almost always fine "prenups get thrown out all the time" Both of these statements are true. Even if it's %0.1 of prenups that get disregarded (which it's almost definitely more than), those men's livelihoods get taken from them. The same way even though most prisoners given the death sentence are guilty, there are significant numbers of those who aren't.

As a RP male, I started to get excited when reading about this. Not so much, now. In three states (Arizona, Arkansas, and Louisiana) of the United States, a covenant marriage is a legally distinct kind of marriage, in which the marrying couple agree to obtain pre-marital counseling and accept more limited grounds for later seeking divorce. Generally, covenant marriage statutes prohibit no-fault divorce. Marital counseling and couples therapy in the US has a distinct bias in favor of women. I pre…

I'm a chemical engineer student (biology and nanotech minors). If you want to go to college, don't go for anything other than STEM, law, and medical (that includes dental and vet). If not, I've seen a few good trade-type jobs mentioned here (rope-access-technician, oil-rigger, fishing, private-military-contractor, etc). I suggest getting into minimalism, financial independence/early retirement, and strict personal finance. I know of a decent legal grey-area no-education employment opportunity, b…

Almost all of my teachers have been women, my Dad works a lot (not many other older men in my life). It's partially a dialect. It also has to do with a combination of xenoestrogens everywhere (plastics, agricultural products, preservatives, etc) and hormonal birth control in drinking water that prevents our vocal folds from widening as much during puberty.
