Why do keep talking like you know something. Those numbers a low because they are the base contract salary. It doesn't take into account all the call you take, extra hospitals you cover and directorships you do on the side. It's like a NFL contract with a base salary but you get incentives for 100+ yard games, making the pro bowl and endorsements. Also rural hospitals pay more than urban hospitals. Doctors want to live in a big city and a willing to take less. You don't need to feel sad for me.

Doctor here and plastic surgeons make around $500,000 a year. Direct plastic surgery is one of the most competitive residencies out of medical school. It's a good life since there's no emergencies and all your patients are fairly well off and can pay out of pocket (which is a good thing). I know a female orthopedic surgeon that was married to a loser body builder type of guy. We all made fun of her that she probably had a rape fetish. Anyways, she cheated on him with a Nurse Practioner (not a doctor, but made more money than a stay at home bodybuilder) and had his kid. Interesting point but SMV is judged on appearance, personality, wealth, intelligence, etc. You can't be a 10 just based on looks and how much you lift. You never mentioned what you do for a living or how much you make. It's hard to judge your true SMV. But yeah, if you're 6'5 doctor that looks like Ryan Gosling and makes $500 K/year, then it's possible.

I went to the University of Texas and after college, I never came close to being around as many hot girls since. It's different. You can't go to class and meet people. Also attractive girls are usually not single. So in a sense, it is harder but its not that bad. You still meet beautiful single girls but it takes a month or two instead of every day. Also when you meet one, you have to make a move RIGHT AWAY!!! So confidence is key to success after college

I understand where you're coming from and I agree that if you work with primarily women, its going to suck. I'm an anesthesiologist and during my residency I hated working on the Labor and Delivery floor. All the OB/GYNs, nurses and patients were female or gay males and it was just way to much estrogen for me. Decisions were not based on medical literature but on feelings. Agreed! Some women are really cool, funny, like sports and hanging out. A great personality can make a girl way more attractive and desirable. But... they usually have a lot guys chasing after them and it doesn't mean that they still don't play games. Nothings perfect.
