Makes complete sense. And the reality is - several men do compare these porn stars to their partners or women in general. I’ve had multiple guy friends open up to me about how porn distorted their idea of women, detracting from their appreciation of their sexual experiences and the people they are having them with. I’ve also had an ex flat out admit that he was comparing me to the girls in porn - ouch. Got over that though and obviously, not all men are like that

What? This is such a bizarre question to me. While oral sex and vanilla sex acts are one thing - when it comes to the more fetish / kink related acts or even anal, peoples sexuality ebbs and flows so much and as we get older we become more familiar with our preferences. Nobody owes you a certain act or the same frequency of a sexual act because of what occurred in a past relationship. Sometimes it takes trying something to know you don’t enjoy it, or sometimes the reason the sexual act even happ…

Men strive to be better too, I’m not saying otherwise

Women weren’t given a body positivity movement...they made one....cuz they strive to be better (not just more fuckable)

Women are told to work on themselves and do constantly. There are tons of pressure to look and act a certain way and despite the “body positive” movement are still constantly bombarded with media of what a woman needs to be in order to be attractive and valued. Photoshop, filters, plastic surgery, Instagram models, ect. It’s not off topic at all to mention sex drive in the conversation of sex.

Women have an easier time getting laid cuz men will have sex with almost anyone. Including other men and animals when women aren’t available. A mans sexual interest doesn’t hold value because it is easily given. Chicks can’t control men’s testosterone levels.

Short guys do get laid and showers / the right haircut will absolutely help a guy get laid lol

exactly....attractive men sleep with girls way less attractive all of the time.

That’s not the woman’s fault....that’s because of a man’s willingness to lower standards due to his high sex drive.

I think male thirst plays a pretty big role. There are sexual benefits men find in heavy women (bigger butt and boobs) which probably makes stomach weight not as big of a deal? There’s really no sexual benefit for women unless they are “into” overweight men. And yeah highly emotional then translates as overly feminine or even weak.

Yeah I mean it’s a social norm because fitness and health is associated with thinness. So I understand the preference and I think it’s generally applied to men as well. Women hold more body fat than men, and yes because of breasts / hips/ butt men usually don’t mind but I see heavier/overweight women who may still be pretty conventionally attractive in the face date men that are thinner than them pretty frequently, more frequently than I see overweight men date thin women. What do you see? Yeah …

Being taller and or stronger than me. I find protectiveness and assertiveness masculine. I don’t find the more toxic problematic qualities of masculinity attractive though, like being overly stoic or proud. Im not sure. I see thin men dating “curvier”/ “thicker” women pretty frequently I think it varies widely, especially in this day and age where gender and sexuality are now understood to be much more fluid than before. height is still pretty pervasive I’m still attracted to having a masculine …

Yeah! It doesn’t fall into the feminine norm to be “bigger” than your male partner, since men on average are bigger than women. I’m attracted to masculine men, and I feel my most attractive when I feel feminine, so if I’m towering over my partner I don’t really feel very sexy. I wish I did and that I didn’t care, but i can’t really control how I feel even though I know why I feel that way.

Biology created the preference but there's lots of socializing involved. I'm still attracted to guys my height or a bit shorter but I probably wouldn't date them just because it's not as socially comfortable. (It makes my pool a lot smaller since I'm tall)

There's already so much info on this topic and several subs discussing the effects of porn on relationships and men's psyche. Lots of studies have been conducted surrounding the consumption of porn and they results are pretty sad. And yeah, the expectations surrounding mainstream porn are honestly really crippling. These actresses are paid to be sex-objects, looking hot is their full time so they have surgery, fillers, a hair and makeup team ect. and most men's first interaction with sex isn't w…

Youre not actually saying anything here. I feel the way I feel and I have no vested interest in pretending otherwise. So if your only refutation to people who don’t agree with your line of thinking is “your in denial”, you are in a world of denial yourself

Lmfaooo you telling me what year it is doesn’t change how I feel. Anyone that doesn’t agree with your line of thinking is in denial? Get over yourself

Wow finally a comment here that didn’t make me want to jump off a bridge. “Alpha” means a lot of different things to different women and I agree, it generally means possessing any number of qualities that are above average. Doesn’t necessarily mean muscle or looks. Never been into the pretty boys, never been into super muscular men. Other averages hold much more importance to me

Yes, basic evolutionary biology. Women have higher stakes with sex and childbearing. Men want to spread their seed, women want the strongest seed (best traits to pass onto her baby)

You're amusing. Obviously you want to be attracted to your partner. What I'm calling creepy is your deep yearning for something you clearly don't respect or think highly of. Isn't it a bit contradictory to place so much emotional stake on a woman who is beautiful, kind to you, and sexually satisfies you, while holding such negative, in-genuine approaches towards them, and preconceived notions about what they value? You discuss women like they are a video game to hack, instead of an individual hu…

I would say there are some men who clearly don’t meet basic standards of hygiene, and some men who seem like they do but once you get to know them better (go to their house, see their habits) are actually failing as well. I don’t have a percentage, but I would say a basic sign of competence and self respect is to be clean in your presentation and your environment. You don’t need to be perfect, but show effort/care. And yes I do (-: I’m dating a man who could talk about melee for hours, and he’s …

It’s not about having a horrid personality or not, it’s whether or not you click with them and respect them that builds deep attraction. I might meet a girl at work and she may be nice and cool, but do I click with her style and personality? Maybe not, so we just stay coworkers, and we don’t evolve into close friends. I’m not saying you shouldn’t take basic care of yourself. If you don’t have basic hygiene and manners down, that’ll turn ANYONE off. But approaching relationships, serious or not, …

This is beyond creepy. You may attract a certain type of women, but none that respect or value themselves

This...is not true. It’s a balance. And a good personality can trump looks within reason. If I see a man who is attractive and he doesn’t have humor or intelligence or something magnetic about him, it does nothing for me.

Women are just as complex as men. Maybe we had an open mind, maybe we wanted to be nice/not come off as rude, or we feel anxious/intimated by the interaction and just want it to be over. If I feel scared I don’t give a fake cuz I’ve had a guy call it in front of me and it is very creepy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
