Man. You've read the sidebar but haven't internalized yet NMMNG. You are fat. You DEER about it. But I will be addressing other things no one has address it yet. You are on OYS #0. Zero? You won't reach OYS #1. Mission: To be the living example for my future children. Your mission is someone who doesn't exist yet? And might not? I have been a drunk, or high, captain. Dude, your male hamster is running wild AF I will soon hit a period of time when my wife will be out of my web of surveillance for a few nights. This will be the first real window my wife has to get some outside dick and I expect it's going to bother me. I don't sense any kind of plan, but I don't need to. During this time: I'll get the feeling that I'm getting cheated on, and react to this by cheating At this point I'll be really done with her in my heart and mind, and I'm already close to that…

I know several professional musicians. All of them struggle to make a living of music and have main jobs, music being a side hustle. They love music. I used to produce music too and I didn't lived off of it, never got a dime out of it but I still did it anyway. The point being: You want to be living of music or do you want to be a great music producer? What if, by external factors, you cannot make a living from your music but you'll still produce and make great music? Will your life be a failure…

Is this the mindset you want to have? You are preempting yourself to walk on eggshells and tracking your chicks cycle. Whose frame do you think that is built around? That wasn't the point tracking it but I can understand why you might think that way. Why couch your feelings and blame others for how you feel? You keep referencing the oak in your OYS, but all I see is a lot of rock even towards yourself. External factors I cannot control. Which means I still get angry because of external factors I…

20% protein is an increase? What have you been eating? Food is fuel, that’s it. Make it routine, boring and plan it out. No, I wasn't counting macros, I increased my protein intake in absolute terms (more grams). Maybe 40/30/30 it's mor suitable for my objective (gain weight and muscle) Fogging: I think of it more as deflecting. “You might be right” “perhaps” etc. Rocks can still hit you in the fog. It’s more like an umbrella in the rain or “creating fog” so someone doesn’t see exactly where you…

Did you fail your goals because you did not do the right practice or did you fail your goals because they were too ambitious? Some were too ambitious, others were contradictory with others and others I didn't do it right or didn't put enough effort into it. Also I didn't account for external factors. What is the purpose of self punishment for arbitrary goal setting? It works. As long as it's well thought and planned.

You're right. It's 140gr of protein my daily intake. I was following My Fitness Pal for gaining weight but I need more, apparently. And it isn't working because I am not gaining weight. Thanks.

I have been addicted and dependent on THC since 2019 / 2020 and every time I 'quit' it was not indefinitely. I keep holding a door open for myself. "If I do it for a period of time and then stop for a while it is not a problem" It took me months (before MRP) to quit daily consumption of weed. Deering about the past Spot on. Maybe living in a house that's properly maintained is something you "want". Yes, I do. I have no mortgage or debt. My wife inherited her "house's" but in need of proper maintainence. If we ever separate I will be theoretically homeless, but I'm not worried about it. Meaning that I'm investing on something that will never be mine. But it will be for my kids. I've come to terms that even if I separate tomorrow I wouldn't ask for anything I've put into this house. Co…

No, dude. Covert contracts are "if I X, someone else will Y." You can have covert contracts just with yourself and your ego You could, I suppose, just be a serial plater and next them as soon as the moods arise. That's one way to do it. It's a lot of work to do all that. Probably more work than becoming unaffected by your woman's mood. Pick your hard. I wouldn't say it's more work than becoming unaffected by my/other women's moods. I believe it's probably easier to just kick the can down the roa…

Maybe you don't actually want some of the things that you think "need" to be done. Excluding the need to fix a house that really needs proper maintenance, this was very insightful and I can map this to other things in my life. Thank you

Well, if you want one that doesn't have bad moods, maybe marry a man? That would make things a lot easier, thanks for the advice If you're able to be not affected by her moods, I guess her bad moods don't matter and you can go about liking her again? Maybe. But that's a covert contract that I don't want to subscribe. I may not be liking her again. But if I do, great.

Wonder where she gets her scoreboard mentality from. If the standards were clearly laid out why are you enabling this behavior? You're right, just like the rest of your observations. I didn't set this boundary properly and I expected everything and everyone to follow and have a problem free life™

I think that once you will start loving the dark side of her character and not getting aggravated by it things will start to change. They do. I am not consistent. And that makes things much harder. Your wife feels that you are not able to be amused by her moods yet and will keep testing you until you do. Exactly. Most of the time shittests are amusing to me but that one time I don't have patience causes her to double down on it. Fortunately I am able to reset much better and don't get resentful.…

Start being selfish Yes. I am getting more selfish with my time. “[You’re right. And that was a mistake, but ] I can’t change the past. I can only change things going forward, and that’s what I’m working on.” [optional / if relevant] This is what I do, but not 100% of time (and that's my mistake), a broken record version of what you wrote. I am using this always from now on: I can’t change the past. I can only change things going forward, and that’s what I’m working on.

That happens sometimes and I often take that stance/mental model at work. Outside work, I don't do that so often and that's the struggle I have with myself. Limited time to do what I want. Being overwhelmed by things/stuff at home that need maintenance/fixing or being replaced. If I take the same stance/mental model I take with work, I know I will be able to manage my time better. I can't fix everything.

I don't know if this is a 'normal' thing, but I see that once I take my focus away from my spouse and relationship and focus on myself that things drastically improve. It almost feels like a paradox. You read, read and read, put all this effort in and then you find out that you need to put less effort and thought into it for it to thrive. Like riding a bike, or skateboarding. You can read about it but if you practice it enough times you don't need to remember that chapter you've read about "fall…

With Finances I am not happy as my wife earns equally and never contributes to the house. To me that is an hard boundary. I just stopped paying bills for a few days and I was willing to leave my nuclear family over this. I find that post being helpful on changing your mental models, I don't care if it's true or not, but if it's useful. Reading your reply was also useful, /u/Persimmon_Dazzling But your punishment (removing time, attention, affection, commitment - taac) only works if you're attractive. Is there a specific reason that you choose this strategy over low reps / high weight? I started a few weeks ago also doing accessory exercises and not just compound exercises. Bicep curls, Bulgarian Split Squats (on leg day), hip thrusts, etc. I started light and doing AMRAP but always increasing the weight on every session. That's a covert contract. You lift to get IOIs. That's not how it works. Guys can get IOIs without lifting. You lift because it will make you attractive and builds discipline, but don't expect immediate IOIs after lifting. When I started lifting I got more IOIs from randoms because the way I carried myself improved, not bec…

The nature of MRP is that I have to be "on" at any hour of the day, and I consider these experiences my practice to move closer to that goal of being ready at any moment to control the frame/game/etc. No. You don't have to be ON You are always ON and you don't even have to think about it. Banged a plate in the last week, gave her multiple Os and didnt cum myself (which I like the self control aspect). Have a couple unattractive/average girls I can bang anytime I want. Is it conscious or is it your ego trying to avoid attachment and perhaps oneitis to some other girl? Again you don’t have to do that if you want, but it isn’t an overreaction to request that people honor their commitments or at least alert you to the fact that they have changed their plans. Other: I have stopped myself from doing a few beta things (like buying groceries and washing dishes) and left my wife to do it. That's not beta or Alfa per se. Addictions: I had a fallback on weed after months of abstinence. When I am with people that don’t share my vision, has great plans and dreams I tend to drug myself with tobacco, weed or alcohol. My reaction the day after smoking however let me realize that I am ready to definitely cut it: when usually I was too tired to do anything and ended up smoking again, Sunday I thought about that… but instead of smoking I went for a run and a cold bath, 5 mins in iced water. Balance restored. I had troubl…

She wants to keep her own name because independent woman, feminism, blablabla. "The girl I'm marrying will take my last name" not implying it's her or anyone else. It's your boundary. You can keep it on broken record, you don't have to explain your reasons neither to her or her feminist friend, or anyone at all. Your frame will be tested though. Don't overthink it. Cut back drastically on all media consumption (book on Deep Work has really helped here). Limit consumption to no more than 1 hr per day. Cut back to 15min, use the 45min to do something useful. It's just time wasted, unless you have a business that requires social media.

I will lift weights. Lifting weights will discipline me mentally. I will lift expecting this result. Thats a contract. That's a contract. You're right. But not a covert one. Unless lifting weights doesn't discipline me mentally, doesn't make me strong to move heavy shit and I freak out and resent the world because I didn't achieve those results. Sometimes I think about the following: Would I still lift weights if I were the only human in the world? 100% of the times I mentally answer, yes. Most of people wouldn't. I understand that. To me, lifting weights is not a covert contract. That's something I've internalized. And if you pull it you'd find that if everyone in the world were fat and 10% BF was looked at as sickly and revolting, if gyms were not a thing and muscles served no purpose, I would be less inclined to do what I do. Last time I got in a real fight was maybe 12y ago, and in self defence. It's not an issue for me.
