I disagree that male vs female circumcision vary only by degree. Female circumcision can be performed to a variety of degrees, from removing the clitoral hood (the same tissue that the foreskin consists of), which is the most common method, to amputating the clitoris. The procedures are nearly identical, which is not surprising when you consider that both genders' genitals develop in the womb from the same common tissue.

I agree. Imagine if the guy had said to her, "If we don't have sex by the 4th date, I'll end this relationship." Is he allowed to say that? Yes. Does that mean it's ok for him to say that?
