I think everyone coming at this all wrong. You filed first, that's a huge first step. Did you self-file or have an attorney? You should be working on a temporary custody agreement. Fuck the VA. Do you really want to leave your kids alone with this psycho? Consequently, as long as the mortgage is on time the VA could give 2 shits where you sleep at night. It will play better for you in court if you don't leave, however.

You're probably right, and avoiding divorce rape isn't a reason that can stand on its own. Thanks for the comment.

I recognize a bit of this with me, I think NMMNG is also the answer, have you read that? The title is a bit misleading and I think some avoid it, but shouldn't. OYS bro. Channel some of that Alpha, moderately successful, model-pussy slaying you used to do and add solid frame.

They learn fast, don't they? This weekend, my wife did the "Will you get my XYZ out of the ... oh nevermind!" and she went and got it herself. I just LOL'd inside at how easy these tests were to pass and turn the tide thanks to you guys. Back to work on the tougher stuff.

So later, when you are deciding whether or not to delete this post, or your whole reddit account, let one little thing soak into your angry head. Re-read some of the big mean comments you got here, and decide if you have the balls to actually do something for yourself, rather than waste your energy defending your indefensible marriage. This is what I've been doing every day. I just wanted to come back and say thanks for the kick in the ass. Back to work for me.

This. Other possible scenarios would be she no longer actually has said job or her mom has been guilting her because she works near mom's home and never calls/visits. If that's the case, she tried to hijack your date and you failed the shit test. I kind of do some broken record by continuously stating that I just wanted an evening with just the 2 of us at a nice restaurant. I think if you would have stuck with this and kept your cool, you would have been OK. Saying this twice is not the definiti…

"This gets ridiculous when one person insists on keeping the house, but has no resources to pay your half of the equity." Right. So what do you usually see with this?

So spot on. May change my name to saltdaddybeta. Besides stop everything, what now? Keep working on self improvement and when she asks about the house purchase say "when you come up with half of the down payment let's talk." ? In the meantime actually considered selling the current house under the pretense if buying the other and then bailing on the replacement. Marital home swept away and fun is had by all.

I'm not praising her behavior so much as I'm excusing my shitty leadership. But you're right, thanks for the comment.

My life is "shiity" [sic] because my wife is a lazy bitch? I guess I don't equate a crappy marriage to the rest of my life sucks, especially when I'm now owning the fact that everything up to this point is on me. I will take your "make major decisions by thinking clearly about ALL the possible outcomes" Thank you for the advice.

The house is in great shape, laundry done, great meals, etc. We genuinely enjoy each other's company most of the time, it's just been going downhill. She keeps her appearance tans, nails, hangs out with girlfriends, reads, etc. Like I said, financials are solid. I own my own business, several rentals, and a side business. I rarely work more than 50 hours a week and still manage 6-8 weeks of vacation per year. She goes on most of those (of course). Honestly a pretty positive person overall and wo…
