This is why it's a concept that's difficult to interpret. I guess you just make make your best judgement call. I think the logic draws from the notion that if YOU don't give her physical intimacy (by not initiating and not accepting her advances) she'll want to find it from someone else. Not double down on getting you to accept her advances. That's why I found your strategy success interesting. If you had to narrow it down though, the best time to reject an advance and maintain frame is after on…

I wouldn't even text her. Texting her let's her know you're still orbiting. Let her text you otherwise, as they like to say here, NEXT!

So let me relate to you a bit as someone trying to turn things around in a LTR. We had been dating for about 4-5 months, and her sex drive was starting to disappear. One night I remember asking her if she still found me physically attractive, and she was like "Of course I do!" And her sex drive kept dropping like a rock. Of course you want to have that "talk". I feel this need as well sometimes. But DO NOT ever touch that subject. Nothing kills sex drive like telling her you feel unattractive. S…

Isn't this post just a dramatized version of dread game?

What would be the best way to handle the situation. (E.g would it be best to do it before the summer holidays, etc.) Can't give you much advice except for this part. There is no best time to drop the hammer. There's always going to be another party, another event, another holiday, another birthday, etc. Just do it when you want to do it regardless of what's coming up.

Fuck, I've gotten more real, down-to-earth, and no bullshit, advice on this sub in a few days then all of reddit in a few years. Really appreciate taking the time to educate me on this sub. Wish I had found it sooner.

I have been chided a bit for being to situational in some of my posts on this sub. I guess that's expected being new to TRP. I got all these situations in my head and I keep trying to play each one out based on how I think she'll respond. It might give me some satisfaction now but is unsustainable and will fail unless I learn to apply the theory rather than apply a response to a situation. But your response is a good overall plan I can follow. I'll state my concern and will not explain it. If sh…

Exactly, LTR aren't a plate. It's going to take some more balancing of alpha/beta than with a plate. It definitely wouldn't make sense to go aloof if she becomes receptive. However, wouldn't that be feeding the negative behavior. Let's use OP's example. On the trip, won't be intimate, he confronts it and lays down the law. In turn she apologizes and starts to cuddle with him. Isn't that, in the end, just saying what you did was ok as long as come cuddle after? Therefore everytime after if she re…

Interesting. I'll try a similar approach in my own LTR. I if make a move and get rejected I'll say something in a stern but calm voice as you suggested. Afterwards I can show disinterest and be more aloof not rewarding the rejection.

That makes sense, I can work with measured attention. You obviously don't want to go nuclear on it. That's why the 2/3 strategy works in my mind. TRP also explain a lot about my LTR. I had a great frame at the beginning and start of it. But I've since gone full beta. It totally explains the lack of affection between us and the constant hamster excuses. Time to take back command. If the frame that was there worked before it should work again, though I understand it will take time and the change i…

Honestly, /r/DeadBedrooms brought me here. I wouldn't say I necessarily have a dead bedroom after 6 months but I can sense it's presence. Having more sex on her terms, more denial, i give but don't receive, romantic gestures go unrewarded, etc. I can't stand the "i don't feel good" or "my head hurts" excuses any more. The hamster wheel is going full speed. I do believe I have time to take back command of the ship before it's too late. I know for a fact im not doing the aww its ok routine. If I'm…

I like the concept of dread game but i feel it's one of those things that can work really well or fail catastrophically. Maybe I've just never experienced it from a truly successful point of view. I view it as the possibility that if OP plays a hand at dread game his wife will double down on it. There's no guarantee she'll come running (nor does TRP or dread game explicitly preach that) and instead could play dread game right back. Is that just a risk you have to eat or is there more nuance to p…

Great suggestions. I still have trouble with this though: For instance, it's a little later in the evening, you walk over to where she's standing, turn her around and give her a really good kiss. If she doesn't respond, go out for the rest of the night. I've tried this in my LTR to set expectations. When denied, say in bed I roll over and do my own thing which leads to "oh, stop pouting just because we're not having sex" or other remark. In other words she's calling my bluff no matter how good m…

Good luck OP. I'm 6 months into a LTR and am trying to build frame to avoid the issues you're encountering. I've already had "the talk" a few times now (more sex, more intiating, more foreplay) and guess what? Nothings changed! That's how I ended up here. This. Shit. Makes. Sense. Anyway, dread game seems to be gold when your married because a divorce is a lot harder than nexting you in a LTR if she responds poorly. That's my concern with dread game. What's to stop her from exploding like a volc…

Agreed. I'm new here and immediately spotted that as a hamster excuse. If she doesn't have to go to the hospital, she can have sex. Why? Because if she said "i don't feel good tonight" and Channing Tatum was in that bed instead, oh you better believe she'll feel good real quick.

Brilliant comment. But therin lies my conundrum. But if she's not attracted to you, then your attention or lack of attention means nothing. Isn't it TRP theory that (crudely and simply put) lack of attention creates attraction. However, you just stated the opposite. Take for example a LTR. The attraction is there but then is lost, say 6 months later. Shouldn't building frame, and withdrawing attention, bring that attraction back? Of course you add in the MAP and self improvement but the lack of …

I liked this comment, she's gotten away with it for sure but is it really futile after the first failed shit test? I know from experience too that putting on the "don't care" face will be fake. I've had the LTR slither up next to me and be like "oh stop being pouty that you didn't get sex". Surely this will happen to OP if he tries next to not care. But where do you go from there? Do you lay down the law instead like /u/PhantomDream09 stated?

Isn't this showing emotion though? If you have to explain it she'll obviously read that your upset and bothered by it...which according to RP theory you're never supposed to show emotion in a way that shows she can influence them through denial of sex. What's the difference, how does this work in this case?

being aloof - that is to say, withholding attention and the expression of desire - is a better sexual strategy for men? I'm still struggling with this because it's literally a leap of faith. Think Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where he sticks his leg out over the chasm. If you don't give her enough attention will you hit the invisible bridge or will you fall into the depths? You think that shes got 10 other orbiters in her pocket that will gladly give it to her. Why should she come back to …

That peace of mind in knowing that I don't care if I'm rejected is viewed by women as possible disinterest, which makes women more interested because of how terrified of rejection they are. This is still a concept I find difficult to understand. Let's say I show a LTR or a plate disinterest in ways TRP would approve of. What's to stop her from saying "fuck it" and find someone else to give her attention even if it's a pure beta? Is TRP theory that confident that she will come back around?
