Congratulations. I went through all that bullshit two years ago at the same age. BPD Ex. I cut all contact with her from that point, turned her suicidal tendencies to her parents because I was finished having to deal with that. Get a copy of Early Retirement Extreme by Jacob Lund Fisker. You will learn a lot. I build homes for a living in my family's business (father is still the owner, but I get some major benefits) so I can build rental and personal homes at cost with no margin. This is good advice for anything that is due. Later on in your career when you have deadlines, it's better to finish something as early as possible with as much quality as possible. Then you can make it better with the time leading up to when it's due, or focus on other things. Look up the 7 Habits Quadrant. Section II is where you want to be spending most of your time.

I build homes for a living. It's a lucrative business so I'd advise buying a house well below your means at first with a heavy down payment to avoid getting wrecked by mortgage interest in the long run. Work a lot, work out a lot, hang with roommates and other mates, watch sports or a movie. I generally work hard through Saturday night and then allot 8 consecutive hours on Sunday to do absolutely nothing to rest up. Occasionally it's too much work but most of the time it's just enough rest.

I was in a similar situation with a girl recently. I bluntly told her that it wasn't working out. There's no need for you to stay. It's Econ 101: think of the opportunity cost of waiting it out. Gotta admit bluntness wasn't the best move though, kinda came and bit me in the ass. Letting someone down more easily usually makes it easier for you in the long run.

Yeah, it sucks. I'm confident a few of my friends will never get like that, although they might get married. We'll see. I know some older professional men who never got married and it doesn't seem like they have too many close friends of similar age. Still a better alternative though.

I love storytelling, film, and anime. I've got my financial independence and early retirement plans in effect so I can get out of corporateland at a reasonable age to pursue creating my own manga series. I suck at art but I am learning and getting better, plus I have over a decade to get better. I want to create my own art without censorship so I would never consider doing that as an occupation.
