"You havnt given me a single reason why the word of a subreddit should be taken as any kind of authority over random people on the street." Probably because it was never my argument to begin with. I never said the sub has anymore authority than some random person who claims to be a feminist on the street. In fact if you want to do that on the side you are welcome to do so. The reason why I would rather you go on the sub is simply so it's easier to prove to me that you did it. If you went on the …

You described egalitarianism not feminism. Feminism is advocacy for female rights in regards to the equality of the sexes. Hence why it's called FEMinism. It is a branch of egalitarianism (Although calling many radical feminists egalitarianists is VERY debatable) but it is not egalitarianism itself. You can be for gender equality without being a feminist just like you can be for gender equality without being a MRA

Re read what I asked and the sentence that followed it. I never said random people on a subreddit's opinion mattered more than hers. I said her book is irrelevant to the argument simply because she never brought up the subject of rather or not feminism is for men in her book. If she did then I could understand why you would say she didn't say the same rhetoric I claimed feminists would make. You could then quote exactly what she said about the subject instead. You can't do that because there's n…

"Tucker Carlson isn't the leader or anything of note other than a commentator, and saying he then gets ultimate authority on what an entire ideology means is ridiculous." Re read what I said. If most self proclaimed conservatives have the exact views he has about what conservatism is then that's what conservatism is. It's less about his views as an individual and more about the group's views as a whole. Ideology: a system of ideas and ideals, especially one which forms the basis of economic or p…

Of course you do. Most people do and I agree. Just out of curiosity, if they absolutely have to have the draft and getting rid of it is not an option what do you think should happen? Should the draft stay as is or should both men and women be forced to be drafted equally so there is real gender equality?
/r/MensRights29/06/22 03:10 AM

That would be relevant if anyone here was blaming women in general. News Flash: They are not. The only ones blaming an entire sex for either of these issues is you and other people like you.

If by minority you mean women. A: There are more women than men so they are not a minority and B: The vast majority of all men have no power to do that whatsoever. C: Even if that was correct (which it's not) it's not a reproductive right but I'm sure you already know that.

Financial abortion. Being able to revoke your right to parenthood before the child is born so once the child is born you don't have to pay child support.

If generally speaking most self proclaimed conservatives echo the same beliefs of what Tucker Carlson says conservatism is then obviously that is what defines conservatism. I see absolutely no reason why it wouldn't. Do you seriously not believe that Hitler's beliefs of what he thinks naziism is and the actions he has done and other Nazis have done doesn't define what naziism is? Seriously what do you think defines an ideology? Now please go over there and ask the question to see if what I'm say…

So basically you admit that abstaining from sex does have a benefit beyond just wanting to have sex in the US which means that your previous statement that there is absolutely no benefit whatsoever to abstaining from sex besides the desire to not want sex is in fact 100% false.
/r/MensRights28/06/22 09:16 PM

It's very different because most conservatives don't straight up identify as neo Nazis. Feminists however do self identify as feminists. The most common beliefs of feminism does define what feminism is just like the most common beliefs of any other ideologies define what that ideology is. A self proclaimed neo Nazis gets to define what a neo Nazi is by the words and actions of the group as a whole and same goes for self proclaimed conservatives. The question is what exactly do you think defines …

My belief is that feminism is defined by what it generally does and what is generally accepted as being the truth among the group. I agree that individual feminists having that belief wouldn't necessarily prove that the whole believes it but it does prove that they do exist and earlier you were acting as if they don't simply because you have never seen one say that before.

So you admit that you were wrong? Correct?
/r/MensRights28/06/22 07:19 PM

You also never asked that question before. Just ask it to see if I am right. Second you claimed that you have never seen a self proclaimed feminist say that before while I claimed that they did and they would. I just want you to do this experiment to see which of us are right.

Again go to r/askfeminism and ask what I told you to ask to see ify claims about what they would say are true. There's nothing remotely "vague" about seeing self proclaimed feminists making these statements with your own eyes so just test it out to see if I'm actually telling the truth or not.

Well there you go. Not everyone can afford moving to another country and that in and of itself costs way more than just not having sex so you were wrong and I would love for you to admit that you were wrong.

Go to ask feminism and ask them if feminism is just as much for men's rights as it is for women's rights. If you don't get insta banned, the most likely answers would be men are too powerful and/or privleged to deserve anyone fighting for their rights even if they do have problems which according to them they most likely don't and even if they do they pale in comparison to female problems so it's best to ignore them or they will claim that feminism does do this through trickle down equality. Feminists don't just say men and women should be treated equally (although considering the fact that they usually don't even treat men and women equally I don't think they should say that either) they straight up say that they fight for men and women equally.

Let's say that a person doing those methods are just as likely to avoid getting a pregnancy as a person who has no sex. Every last one of those methods still require money which means that there absolutely is financial benefits to not having sex rendering your original argument false because last time I checked you don't have to pay a single penny to not have sex.

If the baker claims that their main goal is to fight for the wages of the baker and the butcher equally then yes I do believe the baker should either be held accountable for that or stop making that obviously false claim and admit that they only want to fight for the wages of the baker. Feminism not fighting for men isn't the problem them not fighting for men while claiming that they do is.

For men who don't want to pay child support, not having sex would make that far less likely same goes for women who don't want to get pregnant. Or do you believe that men and women are just as likely to have those things happen to them if they don't have sex? Also although it is possible to have sexual diseases without having sex you're less likely to get them if you don't have sex. Some women are trying to sex strike but it's only a very (VERY) small minority. I agree with the second point but at the same time there's nothing wrong with abstaining from sex too.

"But why are you interested in feminists taking that battle, when it's our to take?" I believe it's mostly because most moderate feminists claim that feminism is just as much about gender equality for men as it is for women. That's one of the reasons they claim that the MRM is unnecessary. Plus their power and influence dwarves the MRM's power and influence by an extremely large margin. If they actually were telling the truth about feminism being just about gender equality for both men and women…

How in the world could it possibly weild positive results when any man it would affect has absolutely no control over the supreme court decision whatsoever. The only positive result would be that they no longer need abortion. Which is great but the entire point of the protest would be to get the men to revert the ban but since the men have no power to do so it's pointless. The men who are supporting banning abortion are most likely not going to have sex with pro choice women in the first place so it doesn't really affect them. Not only that but pro lifers tend to want women ( and people in general really) to abstain from sex unless they are married or ready to have kids anyways so the protest wouldn't work it would just be giving them what they want. You have every right to not do that if you want but I honestly don't understand. What is the point in making an accusation if you're not even willing to at least try to prove said accusation? Especially since if it's as common as you make it out to be it shouldn't really be that difficult to find.

"You're right. My mistake was expecting a woman to make a logical, and constructive argument without getting emotional." If this statement is proof that someone clearly hates women then your genderbent version of this statement is proof that you hate men.
/r/MensRights26/06/22 10:09 AM

Honestly that proves his point that you legitimately are being a sexist. I mean think about it. If a man said "My mistake was expecting a woman to make a logical, and constructive argument without getting emotional." Would you seriously not (, rightfully I might add) see him as a blatant misoginist? Even if you didn't (which I highly doubt) would you really blame someone else for viewing him that way?

"If I'm calling someone an incel it's because they've identified themselves as such." That's all I needed to know. Most people who defend using it as a slur do so because they want to continue calling someone they don't like an incel without that person they're calling an incel self identifying as one. How exactly is the anger being directed at women as a whole? He just said that the amount of false accusations would most likely increase. Saying that the amount of men murdering would increase because of x doesn't automatically mean you are angry at men as a whole so why in the world do you think that applies here when it comes to women? Correction: he's purposefully voting for a party that wants neither sex to be able to opt out of parenthood instead of just one sex like the other party. You can argue that it's horrible and messed up and I would'nt even argue with you there but it technically is not sexist because it's treating both sexes equally more or less. The word "usualy" doesn't stop it from being a generalization. When you are referring to a group and do not put words like "some" or "many" before that group to signify you are talking about a specific portion of that group it means that you are talking about that group in a general sense. When you are talking about a group in a general sense that means you are making a generalization about that group. In this case the group is men obviously. Honestly I doubt that's true but even if it was the guy has the right to change his mind and state his feelings and then break up if she doesn't want to change (which is perfectly understandable and fine for her to do btw). If women can change their minds and break up because of their changed preference without being villainize as being controlling then so should the man.

Being against negative generalizations against men is no more "unconscious misogyny" than being against negative generalizations against women is unconscious misandry. Or did you not read the comment she is referring to? "However, usually men only usually start caring about their partners wearing their coochie cutters (booty shorts lmao) after they start dating,"
/r/MensRights22/06/22 10:11 PM

This is an anonymous forum for the most part. Unless you explicitly state that you are a woman most people will not know rather or not you are one. I saw your comment and I'm pretty sure it was more in the way you stated your opinion. You negatively generalized men so of course people here are going to disagree with you. /r/MensRights22/06/22 10:08 PM

I believe it's both. They are aware of women issues and alot view women as disadvantaged in comparison to men AND many are also afraid because they are constantly being demonized simply for being men by radical misandrists, many of which have actual power that can harm them. The worst part is probably that if those men tried defending themselves, they would most likely be seen as the bad guys not their bullies and they would be the ones facing major negative consequences, not their attackers.

Actually the definition of "true equality for both sexes" is egalitarianism. Feminism is and always was a female advocacy movement hence why it's called FEMinism

Criticizing their ideology and debating them to put it more accurately. You don't have to agree with someone to welcome them to a conversation. A protected species are protected because they are going extinct. Their problem mostly stems from their extinction (,rather it be from a disease, being hunted too often, not being able to live in the right environment etc). Women are not even close to going extinct so the same doesn't really apply to women. Either way, by law if you harm them you go to jail. That's not how you treat something you are trying to opress.

"What it means is that claims of domestic abuse, rape, etc., should be investigated as if it were true," No offense but if everyone knew it was true or acted like it was true then there would be no reason to investigate to see rather it's true or not. Nice try though. Hypothetically speaking let's just say you are right and that truly was the intent of #Believe (all) Women. If that's the case then they clearly gave it the wrong name. Instead they should have called it #Don't dismiss all women. B…

True which is why he should have said most not all. The vast majority of all men are no where near as rich or powerful as those 3 men. Those men can use their power and money to get out of major negative consequences. The vast majority of other men on the other hand can not.

"If they both wanted to know each other who would try to enforce it?" Law enforcement. "A court wouldn’t tell two reasonable adults, “no, you can’t be friends now because one of you signed a paper 20 years ago.”" I'll admit that's actually a pretty good point. At that point he would have to pay all the years of child support back directly to his child since his child is an adult now if he wants get rid of the contract. Otherwise it still applies. "And, protection orders are violated all the time…
/r/MensRights19/05/22 01:59 AM

How would that be impossible? If a restraining order isn't impossible to enforce then neither should this. You didn't want him to have any benefit of fatherhood including after the child turns 18. That would solve the problem.
/r/MensRights19/05/22 12:51 AM

They could make it follow the same rules as a restraining order and have it be for life. To be clear he is not allowed near the child for the rest of his life.

"Uh, there are still women that deal with domestic violence too who won't be listened to now thanks to Heard." I don't doubt that but if that's the case why didn't they just say female victims instead of real victims? No he's saying that it's possible that the crazy man that threatens women isn't oppressed at all AND it is ALSO possible that he is also oppressed himself. Why is this so difficult for you to understand? Also that man having autonomy or not is a completely different mostly unrelated subject.
/r/MensRights15/05/22 12:57 AM

Yes but it's not the only reason men repress their emotions. It's also because people fear that if a man gets enraged or expresses any other negative emotion he might harm others.

Here's the problem. If you ask out someone that is your friend there is a pretty decent chance that they would believe that your friendship isn't actually authentic and the only reason you befriended them is to get into their pants. Point is that's what he meant by bodily autonomy. The man would have to use his body in order to pay off child support rather he wants to or not or else he risks going to jail and getting a criminal record which could potentially ruin the rest of his life.
/r/MensRights09/05/22 05:13 AM

The labor required to get the money to pay child support does in fact have to do with your body. You do know that right? That is of course assuming the man doesn't get the money for free which in the vast majority of all cases he doesn't

Even if you are aromantic you could still enter a romantic relationship if you wanted to it would just be one sided on the other person's side and you most likely wouldn't enjoy it. "Condoms control men?" By your logic? Yes (if said logic is consistent of course) By actual logic? Absolutely not. It's a very valid solution to the problem just like not having sex in the first place is. Now please kindly explain how claiming that not having sex is ALSO a valid solution is an example of someone trying to control what a woman can or cannot do but straight up ordering a man to wear a condom isn't an example of someone trying to control what a man can or cannot do.

You're talking to a different person. I don't live in Canada. Also mentioning that not having sex is also a valid option is no more about "controlling women" than your suggestions about birth control were. /r/MensRights18/04/22 07:41 PM

How in the world could you possibly see a post that says that calling someone a slut or an incel is wrong and condemning both misogyny and misandry is a perfect example of "woman hating"?

You don't have to be an incel to get called one. You do know that right?
/r/MensRights17/04/22 03:36 PM

I'd argue it's a bit worse than the word slut. There are many people that view being a "slut" as a good thing. Meanwhile little to no one, not even self identified incels, view being an incel as a good thing. That being said, I don't think anyone should be called either word as an insult.

Actually I don't think you read what I wrote. I didn't say femininity = being too nice I said TOXIC femininity = being too nice. Let's take a look at some definitions shall we? Too: to a higher degree than is desirable, permissible, or possible; excessively. Nice: pleasent, agreeable and/or satisfactory. Submissive: ready to conform to the authority or will of others; meekly obedient or passive. If someone is excessively agreeable they could be willing to conform to the will of others. So in con…

So basically exactly what I thought you were going to say. Toxic feminity = being too nice while toxic masculinity = being too mean. I'm sure it's just a mere coincidence that everything on the positive side named by feminists just so happens to be feminine and everything on the negative and destructive side tends be masculine. It's totally not a good example of discrimination against men even though the definition of masculinity is "qualities or attributes regarded as characteristic of MEN." He…

Can a group of men consent for all men?
/r/MensRights16/04/22 01:31 PM

The answer is literally in the second sentence. "The top post on TwoX right now is some woman complaining because she feels entitled to oral sex even though her boyfriend doesn't like doing it." His solution was literally what you said. "If wearing a condom during sex makes it not worthwhile for you, then just don't have sex with her. You are not obligated to fuck anyone. She is not entitled to your cock."

The first comment was anti Zelensky but it doesn't mean that, that person is automatically pro Putin. The rest of the comments were about being appalled about what Zelensky did but just because they were against what Ukraine /Zelensky did doesn't mean that they were for what Putin/Russia did. One of them even said "Screw Ukraine AND Russia, I hope they BOTH lose." That's not something a pro Russia propogandist would say. In fact this person is very clearly anti Russia.

If I'm being honest I have no idea what you're talking about. "A FEMALE would be an animal that has, frex, female chromosomes (XX for mammals, ZW in birds). There is NO way you can say that "a female would be a human". On the face of it, you just said something risibly absurd. " It would only be absurd if you don't consider a human as a type of animal. Which it is already established that you do consider humans to be animals so it makes no sense why you are disagreeing with me. /r/MensRights12/04/22 03:32 PM
1

So let me get this straight. It is totally ok and not dehumanizing at all to call a human an animal but it's not ok to call a woman (or man) an animal even though a woman is a human and a human is a type of animal. Do you realize how little sense that makes? If a human is an animal then how is calling someone the same term used for animals, "dehumanizing"? Also many people refer to men as males. Have you seriously never heard of the term "straight white male"?
/r/MensRights12/04/22 12:22 AM

That is definitely part of the issue but it's not the only part. Plenty of people also get angry about the very use of the word female being used as a noun regardless of if the person did refer to men/boys as male(s) as well. Many of these same people also usually have no problem with the term "straight white male" being used as an insult. I do however agree that being a hypocrite by calling women females but never calling men males is definitely wrong, I'm just saying that there's a bit more nu…

A woman is a female human adult and a girl is a female human child. It is proper English to refer to a person who could be a child or an adult as a female. It is also proper English to refer to a group of people of various ages as females. Same goes with male and males. It doesn't always have to refer to biology either.

/r/MensRights11/04/22 08:50 PM

A female can be an adult or a child. If you're trying to be more general it makes perfect sense to say females instead of women and girls when referring to female humans of a variety of ages.
/r/MensRights11/04/22 08:44 PM
1

"Human females are the subset of animals that are both 'female' and 'human'." Yes There is a specific term for that; 'woman'. Also yes but actually no. The term woman only refers to female human adults while girl refers to female adult children. Because like you said humans are animals, a female would be a human that could be an adult or a child.

"In other words, we don’t talk about men beyond how they act as antagonists to sex and gender equality." This is precisely what he was referring to when he said that they would talk about men. It's also why I have no idea why many feminists keep trying to claim that feminism is for men too.

I didn't say feminism is about men I said that there are many feminists who are men. Feminism still is and always was mostly for women specifically the advocacy for rights for women. I'm sure you did but we're talking about specific feminist subs on Reddit. Do you have any proof of what you're saying. Also you're acting as if feminists= women. You do realize that many feminists are men right? There are already far more male feminists than there are female MRAs.
/r/MensRights08/04/22 04:15 PM

That's assuming someone would never misinterpret absent mindedly staring in a general direction to ogling at a specific person. Which is of course a very naive assumption to make. Then there is the fact that staring tends to be a bit subjective. To one person, looking at someone for 5 seconds straight without saying anything is staring while to another it's not.
/r/MensRights07/04/22 01:42 PM

I agree with you but don't you think it would be even more impactful if most men abstained from having sex in general? Not that that would ever happen but still.
/r/MensRights06/04/22 09:31 PM

He's most likely saying that men and women should be treated the exact same way for the exact same crime. The second absolutely is a men's rights issue as long as you believe that neither men nor women should be treated leniently for murdering babies.

Why exactly are you emphasing women? You do realize that many men are feminist too right? Plus many women aren't feminist as well. Also I am aware of the definition but you can still support woman rights without being a feminist just like you can support men's rights without being an MRA. An alternative would be either being an egalitarian or being neutral when it comes to activism but still believing both sexes should have equal rights.
/r/MensRights31/03/22 10:21 PM

Women =/= feminism and you can be for gender equality for women without being a feminist.
/r/MensRights31/03/22 07:59 PM

Are you really going to compare a biological sex to an ideology and act as if they are equivalent to each other? Saying most or even all Nazis are bad is not the same as saying all black people are bad. You do know that right?

Lol taking precautions doesn't always mean not doing the action at all, it could just mean doing the action but in the safest way possible to slim down the chances of a negative outcome. Only avoid it completely if it isn't really necessary and the risks out weigh the benefits. To me going out of your way to help out a stranger can indeed fit into that category. It's a very nice thing to do but I don't really blame anyone for not doing it.
/r/MensRights25/03/22 10:57 PM
2

Your justification for your refusal is that you are selfish, how exactly is that any better? Also there is nothing wrong with wanting to have self preservation. If you don't have a back up like for example a good lawyer just in case, it's perfectly reasonable to not take the risk regardless of how small of a chance that risk is. Rape is rare generally speaking too but there is obviously nothing wrong with taking precautions to make sure you don't get raped.
/r/MensRights25/03/22 07:22 PM

If you're too selfish to do something like that then why in the world do you expect others to do it?
/r/MensRights25/03/22 06:56 PM

If you're not an activist or an advocate then obviously you're not a feminist. It doesn't matter if they keep calling you one or not.
/r/MensRights24/03/22 10:43 PM
3

So you aren't a feminist either. Meaning that by your logic you don't support women's rights. Anyways to answer your question a feminist is an advocate/ activist for women rights. You can support women rights by being an egilitarian (someone who advocate for male and female rights equally) instead. Or you can be neutral and not be an activist for anyones rights but still believe that women deserve to have rights
/r/MensRights24/03/22 10:30 PM

Answer my question first. Do you consider yourself to be an MRA?
/r/MensRights24/03/22 10:22 PM

Not really. You can support women rights without being a feminist just like you can support men's rights without being an MRA. I'm assuming that by your logic you call yourself an MRA or do you not support men's rights?

You can support women rights without being a feminist.

Here is the definition of masculinity. "qualities or attributes regarded as characteristic of men." Can anyone be masculine? Yes. But that doesn't mean that masculinity itself is a completely gender neutral term.
/r/MensRights18/03/22 11:31 PM
3

Of course it doesn't that's just the main definition they use. But even with that definition it is blatantly obvious that it is mostly for one gender and not the other so it's pretty silly to pretend that it is about advocating for all genders equally. My point was that even with that definition it's pretty obvious that it's mostly about advantanging women.

I'm just going to address the side note. Women being more educated isn't the problem it's the hypocrisy that's the problem. Feminists helped create affirmative action that excluded men allegedly in order to make the rates for the sexes more equal. If they were actually serious about gender equality, when they saw that there are now more women than men in college they would have stopped affirmative action for women and did there best to help out men so it would be more equal. That way there would…

At least try to prove yourself right first. Rape culture requires the majority of everyone to be pro-rape instead of anti rape. Where exactly is the evidence that the majority of everyone in the West likes rape or is at least totally fine with it?
/r/MensRights14/03/22 12:21 AM
12

Yes because not everyone is a MRA here and feminism isn't banned here like MRAs would be in a feminist sub. Also the official and most accurate definition of feminism is the advocacy for female rights in regards to the equality of the sexes. Hence why it is called FEMinism and not egalitarianism, equalism, or humanism.
/r/MensRights13/03/22 11:30 PM
5

Honestly I think both MRA or Feminism should not exist. They should both be egalitarianism instead. But because feminism does exist, there needs to be a movement that helps men as well. Egalitarianism is great but it's not relevant or big enough hence why MRA exists.
/r/MensRights13/03/22 11:28 PM

What double standard? Men who say those things usually get called "incels". You're getting downvoted simply because what you're saying isn't true generally speaking.
/r/MensRights10/03/22 09:45 PM

Lol the point is that if it was egalitarianism and not feminism from the very start none of those horrible things feminism did would have ever happened in the first place. It would have legit been all about true gender equality instead of claiming to be for gender equality while in reality their only for the advancement of one gender and oftentimes for the detriment for another gender.
/r/MensRights10/03/22 08:43 PM

Not really. The vast majority of all problems men face as a whole would still exist regardless of how much sex anyone has. I wonder if you tell feminists that if only they had sex with men none of them would ever advocate for female rights.

It would if financial abortion was a thing that existed. As in, if the man doesn't want the child he can renounce his rights to the child before the child is born and then doesn't have to pay child support.

"Her virginity has no bearing on her decisions for her own body." Yes it absolutely does, as long as she doesn't get raped, if she chooses to remain a virgin she will never get pregnant. If a man doesn't want a child, the solution is to be a virgin and the exact same would apply to a woman who doesn't want a child. As the other person said, it takes two to tango

So let me get this straight, you are shaming a guy for feeling and showing negative emotions by calling it "male fragility" while at the same time you are literally trying to claim that shaming men for feeling and showing negative emotions is "toxic masculinity". By your own logic, you do realize you have toxic masculinity, right? Why exactly do you even feel the need to gender the term in the first place? Many women get angry about getting rejected this is not even something exculsive to men. W…

"How can something be gender equality for one side?" Exactly, the official and most accurate definition of feminism is advocacy for FEMALE rights in regards to the equality between the genders / sexes. Hence why it's called FEMinism. What you're talking about is egalitarianism not feminism. Some feminists can be egalitarians but that doesn't mean they are the same things.

Wanting men and women to be treated equally does not mean you automatically hate women or men. That's honestly absurd. True gender equality would be if both men and women were drafted or neither men nor women are drafted. You can not claim that you are for gender equality while treating the genders / sexes differently.

Yes earlier you admitted that I had a point most likely meaning that even you knew that he's not actually involuntarily celibate. Then you just said that there was an involuntarily celibate line. I assumed that meant that you thought what he was saying made him an involuntarily celibate. If that's not actually what you're trying to say then you should at least try to elaborate and phrase what you want to say better.
/r/MensRights25/02/22 01:42 AM

Just like there are blacks that hate blacks as a whole there are most definitely plenty of men who hate men as a whole. Being a man does not automatically exclude you from being a misandrist. I'm not going to assume you hate men for sure because I don't really know you well enough to make that judgement but it is definitely a possibility.
/r/MensRights25/02/22 01:32 AM

Not really sure what that's supposed to mean. If he's married and having sex with his wife he's obviously not "involuntarily celibate" regardless of what he says online

Wrong, this is what he said. "My fucking point is* natural harmony among humans, and if that makes me right wing incel, so be it." Essentially what he's saying is that IF believing in natural harmony amongst humans makes him a right wing incel then he's a right wing incel. But that's obviously not what makes someone a right wing incel, so obviously he isn't one.

He's not an incel if he's not involuntarily celibate. Also he never even said firefighters can't be women or that nurses can't be men. He just said that most fire fighters are men and most nurses are women, which is true btw. By your logic, a person claiming that most humans are born with 2 arms would automatically have a mental breakdown when they meet someone who was born with less than or more than 2 arms. I don't just think it is, it literally is. "Harmful expectations for men" = 8 syllables "Toxic masculinity" = 7 syllables You claimed that the term toxic masculinity is MUCH shorter when in reality it isn't really that much shorter. My guess is that you were talking about typing, if so you could just say toxic gender roles then. It's just as much letters as toxic masculinity and it is gender neutral

This is the most blatant victim blaming I have ever seen. You do realize we are talking about male rape victims right? Just because the man ejaculated doesn't mean he consented to the sex just like, just because the woman ejaculated doesn't mean she consented to the sex. Do you really think a man saying, "Yeah I forced myself on her but she ejaculated so it's all good" would be a good defense in the court of law?
/r/MensRights23/01/22 04:45 AM

Because you're missing the point. The rapist shouldn't even be allowed to have custody over the child in the first place much less get money for it. Gender specific because mysoginy is hatred and discrimination against women. Women are a specific gender (or sex). MRAs can be women as well as men that doesn't stop this sub from being for a specific gender because it's about the advocacy of male rights.

Most self identiied incels don't identify as MRAs only a minority does. Most view it as a pointless "cope". They view MGTOW the same way and even make fun of them. The word man was not always inherently masculine. In the Old English, man/men was always a completely gender neutral term. Wer was the term used for an adult male human and wyf was the term used for an adult female human. Eventually wer became werman which was then shortened to man and wyf became wyfman which transformed into woman because it sounds better. Personally I think we should just go back to the Old English way of referring to the sexes. It would be much less confusing that way.

You said "control the woman". Advising person A to break up with/ flee from person B and get a lawyer just in case is not the same as advising person A to control person B. You do know what the definition of control is right? If they were actually advising him to control the woman they would give him the exact opposite advice. Instead of telling him to flee from the woman they would tell him to do everything in his power to force her to stay with him. Also by send links I mean go to at least 2 s…

Please, define misogyny and be specific. To some people being against feminism is misogyny while to others it's not because feminism =/= women and you can be for women having equal rights to men without being a feminist. Also I'm not talking about their view on misogyny I'm talking about yours. One more thing. "I'm sure there's plenty of people in here that don't view their misogyny as misogyny. "Who has more power, the person who set up the dominoes or the person who knocks over the starter?" I'm not really sure what this anology is supposed to mean if I'm being honest. Like you said in the next sentence, both the man and the woman are equally responsible for the creation of the child. Both sides set it up by consenting to have sex with one another and the knocking down of the first dominoes was done as a result of something that both sides consented to and participated in together equ…

What I mean by control is power. The more power you have over the situation, the more responsibility should come with said power. In this situation power = control. The way I see it, if he completel gave over all power to her the second his seed entered her then she should also have all responsibility over the situation as well. Think of it like this. In a relationship between a parent and their child, the parent has much more power and control than the child. The balance to this is that they al…

He didn't say anything about no abortions. What in the world are you talking about? He also definitely didn't say anything about the man paying child support either. In fact what he said was the exact opposite. The woman should have abortion if she doesn't want responsibility over the kid, while the man can have financial abortion if he doesn't want the kid. Child support should be something that should only be done if the parent consents to it. Obligatory child support should only be a thing if…

They do like the idea of responsibility at the start. But not if it only applies to one sex and not the other. If you wouldn't tell a woman that if she didn't want a baby she should keep her legs closed then you should definitely not say essentially the same thing to a man.

If she has 100% control then she should have 100% responsibility. That's how it works. The more control you have over the situation the more responsibility you should have over it as well. If the man is not allowed to have any control what so ever then he shouldn't have any responsibility either to balance things out. That's how true equality works. Also abortion is not the equivalent of a man getting his testicles removed. Honestly if I didn't know any better it kinda sounds like you're anti ab…

A fetish is a synonym for the word kink. If you shame someone for having a fetish then you are kink shaming them. Simple as that. I disagree. The second you show anger you will immediately be called an incel (or some other slur), or be told that you have "toxic masculinity" or "fragile masculinity" depending on what you are angry about. Many men absolutely do get shamed for showing anger all the time. In fact, I believe one of the main reasons why men were told to be stoic in the first place is due to the fear that if a man gets too angry he will automatically put others in danger. Exactly. Not just men's rights and not just women's rights either. It would be best if both feminism and MRA was replaced by pure egilitarianism but since feminism isn't going away any time soon MRA is needed to balance things out.
/r/MensRights09/11/21 07:58 PM

Did I say that wasn't your belief? Whoever made that quote simply conflated feminism with egilitarianism. Feminism is the advocacy of mostly female rights on the basis of equality between the sexes (hence why it's called FEMinism) while egilitarianism is the advocacy of both male AND female rights (and anything in between) equally on the basis of equality between the sexes.

He was "booty hurt" that they would come to the women's defense but they wouldn't come to the man's defense. It's not the fact that they would care about the woman that was the problem it's the hypocrisy of caring about the woman but not caring about the man in the exact same situation.

What in the world are you talking about? About 70 people upvoted your comment in which you said that it's ok to call any guy who negatively generalizes women an incel. You didn't get downvoted until you misinterpreted what that one person said who disagreed with you. They were saying that it's wrong to call anyone an incel (or a femcel) as an insult because "tying people's worth to their (presumed) ability to get laid" is wrong. This is precisely why virgin shaming and slut shaming is wrong. You…

Of course it's bad and he said that it's bad. Just don't call them incels, call them mysoginsts or bigots. Incel is short for involuntarily celibate. Just because someone has a bad opinion about women based on their experiences doesn't mean they never had sex or romantic relationships. If you believe that no one should be shamed for their lack of sexual experience then it is hypocritical to go around calling people incels. Western society as a whole is feminist for the most part but that doesn't mean that everyone in it is going to agree with feminism. It is some thing that is true in general but generalizations almost always have exceptions to the rules. For example generally speaking, humans are born with 2 hands and 2 feet but that doesn't mean ALL humans are born with 2 hands and 2 feet (just most). Humans are not a hive mind so having everyone agree with an ideology or viewpoint is literally impossible but at…

Once again women rights =/= feminism. You can be for women rights without being a feminist and you can be against feminism without being against women's rights. Let me quote exactly what Twiggy "literally" said. "feminism is just women empowerment and Misandry" Notice how he said feminism and NOT women's rights. Ok but where exactly is the evidence that girls are taught to respect boys specifically in the west? There are plenty of campaigns and classes with boys being taught to respect girls but I have never seen it the other way around. Also everyone is already taught to treat everyone with respect that's not exactly exclusive to girls.

It's a bit more complex than that. First, look at the definition of feminism. "The advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes." The only way you can be for the equality of the sexes while focusing mostly on one sex or gender over the other(s) is if you believe that this gender or sex is significantly disadvantaged or unequal. With this belief, the only way to have equality is if you either empower the sex you believe is disadvantaged (moderate feminism) or tear down the…

The point is that misandry is not justifiable just like misogyny isn't justifiable. If someone was being misandric most people would not see it as justifiable to use that as an excuse to be a sexist mysoginistic pig (especially not the person who wrote the article) so why tolerate it being the other way around?
/r/MensRights09/06/21 03:30 AM

In order to be a feminist, you have to believe that we live in a society where women are at the bottom and men are at the top and the only way for true gender equality is to either tear down men or raise up women. Most feminists aren't female supremists but most female supremest are feminists because they are indeed doing what they are doing in the name of equality (or at least they believe they are).

My point is if you are going to argue that it doesn't matter which side was oppressed more then at least be consistent with that belief otherwise you're simply being hypocritical. Incel means involuntarily celibate. I don't completely agree with what he said but I don't believe he sounds like an incel. The difference is that an incel wants a girlfriend and/ or sex but can't get it. He is saying that he doesn't want sex or romantic relationships and doesn't think MGTOWs in general should either. Therefore a more accurate word to describe is mysoginist or sexist because of the reason why he doesn't want sex or romance.
/r/MGTOW201/06/21 02:54 AM

My problem is calling it toxic masculinity in the first place. If it's something both men and women perpatrate and can be the victims of and it's not a gendered issue at all then why use a gendered word to describe it? Why not just call it toxic behavior or having a toxic world view?

Feminism - the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. The only way you can be mostly for 1 sex's rights and equality of the sexes at the same time is with the assumption that, that sex is at the bottom while the other is at the top. Also that men are seen as opressors and sexism is a form of oppresion. Only opressors can opress and only victims (women) can be opressed. Did they say that they were incels or are you just calling them that because you disagree with what they said?

Men going their own way. That's what it stands for. If you decide to abstain from sex or relationships with women even though you are attracted to them then technically you are a MGTOW

I can understand being evasive of the person that looks like they are following you but yelling at them? Attacking them would just add fuel to the flame or create a fire where there is none and potentially put you in danger. I believe it's only ok to attack if they attack first, until then it's smarter to just avoid them. No need to scream and cause conflict when it's ambiguous on rather that person means you any harm or not.

That's essentially the goal of MGTOW except not every MGTOW man complains about women. Also you do realize that alot of them (most of them actually) did get into relationships with women but the relationships turned sour right? I'm just saying that it's dumb to automatically assume that just because they complain about women that they have never been in a relationship with one. Do you do the same when some women complain about men? Do you seriously assume that they have never been in a relations…

Get a consent form before sex and have her read it out loud and sign. Ask for her permission to videotape her reading and signing it just in case.

You can go your own way without going on a Reddit sub or hating women (or anyone else for that matter). You do know that right?
/r/MensRights22/04/21 02:35 AM

Yep, equality with the assumption that men in general are at the top in society and women in general are at the bottom so the only way to logically make things equal is by either raising women up, tearing men down or both.

What exactly was that supposed to prove? I don't see anything about staying in the kitchen.

It's nice to know that you have sympathy for men. That being said, no offense but If you truly aren't focused more on female rights than male rights then I honestly don't understand why you don't just call yourself an egalitarian instead of a feminist. I'm guessing it's because of your belief in the existence of patriarchy perhaps?

I agree with you but just letting you know that International Men's day is November 19, the same day as International toilet day (coincidence I'm sure). Most people don't know that (or care for that matter) so I can't really blame you for not knowing.

What's ironic is that these are the types that are usually the first ones to call a man an "entitled" incel for complaining about dating struggles that he faces.

What does physical strength / endurance have to do with being mentally or verbally abused? What use is that physical strength advantage when you clearly can't use it? Not without severe negative consequences at least.

It's sarcasm. Lol
/r/MGTOW04/04/21 02:27 PM

It's actually easier for short people to become muscular so strength isn't really the problem. Having smaller limbs is. The smaller your arms are the less room you have to carry in your arms. When it comes to overall speed short people can potentially be just as fast if not faster than tall people because they have less weight weighing them down but when it comes to walking with heavy objects, their smaller legs would naturally make them move at a slower pace. It is also more difficult to reach …

I'm not sure why what I'm saying is confusing to you. Maybe the real problem is that you simply have bad reading comprehension skills, have you ever thought of that? Again please be specific and tell me which part confused you and specifially why it confused you. "so maybe you should let a woman type it, maybe then it would make more sense lmao" This is inherently extremely sexist. If you are a feminist like I suspect that you are, then shouldn't you believe that men and women are equal in every…

"Feminism is about raising women up AND equality. At first, feminism was about raising women up, but it’s changed over time into both raising women up and equality." This didn't really explain much. So it's not about seeing men and women as equals. If you did there would be no reason to raise women up. It's about the ideology of women being at the bottom and men being on top so the only way to make things equal is by raising women up (moderate feminism) or tearing men down (radical feminism). Hi…

If it it's for both men and women rights equally then why is it called FEMinism? As in FEMale? Why isn't it gender neutral? If you're going to say that he's wrong and he's being dumb, you could at least try to explain why you feel that way.
/r/MensRights01/04/21 11:31 PM

It's about advocating for male rights and solving male problems in society. Most MRAs aren't going to say that if you believe in equality then you are automatically an MRA. His problem is that most feminists aren't willing to admit that they mostly focus on female rights and problems.

Suggesting that they stay inside is not the same as forcing them to do that. That's all I'm trying to say.
/r/MensRights29/03/21 03:55 PM

If you want an example of humans being advised to stay inside for their own safety look at the covid curfews that were inacted all around the world. Also it wasn't something they were going to force women to do, it was simply a suggestion. Not saying it was right, but still.

It is the main issue of the body positivity movement which mostly consists of actual feminists.

"And on the note of dating, If it's something you can't control then usually those men get plenty of sympathy, just as much as women who have trouble dating." Not really, they usually get mocked and called an incel regardless of rather he made a negative generalization against women or not. Some women do want to make babies and get pregnant and some people react that way simply because they feel sympathy for the person who wants something but can't have it.

If they make that response after the person claims that all men are rapists then no it's not wrong in any way to make that hashtag and it isn't missing the point either. You can hold the view that not all men rape (in fact, most don't) while still sympathizing with all rape victims regardless of gender at the same time. The two concepts are not mutually incompatible in any conceivable way.

Whenever they do try they get shut down. The main reason it worked for women is because they were seen as underdogs that need to be defended / protected. Men are generally seen as opressors with far too much power and privelege so obviously their problems aren't usually going to be worthy of being addressed to the general public. Change this perception and maybe people will take men's problems more seriously eventually. That most likely isn't going to happen any time soon though, but you can try…

He used female as an adjective to describe the type of friends he's talking about. I'm pretty sure if he was talking about his friends that are male he wouldn't call them friends that are men he would call them male friends.

Sorry to tell you this but rom coms aren't real life. That usually isn't how it works in the real world. There is only a tiny chance that the girl will fall for the guy after initially not wanting to date him.
