Yeah but a huge part of the problem is that your average woman is not that forward. They usually like to be pursued and wooed. In my experience, lesbians are more forward than other women, but they’re still not as forward as men. Bisexual women usually expect you to approach them and woo them. As a feminine lesbian, I did well when I was single because I had the ovaries to hit on women. I have a relatively outgoing and charming personality that helps me out. However, it was very rare that I was …

If you’re a lipstick lesbian, you don’t have high standards for guys, as in you’d change for the right dude. You’re just not interested. It’d be like someone asking you to kiss your cousin

If you don’t love yourself and have healthy outlets (hobbies, friends, etc.) you tend to either act in unhealthy ways or accept unhealthy behavior towards you in my experience

People in general have lots of “double standards”. I would phrase it more like “dream qualities”. A lot of things are objectively more attractive than their counterpart: being physically active vs inactive being beautiful vs ugly being social vs isolated being talented vs untalented being wealthy vs poor being accomplished vs lost On and on. Almost all people like the idea of dating someone who is a total package, but few people are total packages themselves

I do think some people have some aspect of wanting to be seen as totally separate from straight people. But we’re all still people, lol. That said, I wouldn’t assume that the lines are clear cut. That part can be annoying. I am more visually feminine but the gender roles in our lesbian relationship can be blurred. I love treating my tomboy of a partner like a little princess and taking care of her lol.

I can only speak for myself here, of course, but I don’t mind the question. I find male anatomy unattractive. Facial and body hair, flat chests, flat butts, wide waists, dicks. None of it appeals to me. Masculinity (protection, possessiveness, dominance, etc) is still attractive to me. I’m most attracted to women who are somewhat androgynous, but still clearly women. Women who are too masculine to the point that they literally could pass for men turn me off, though I still get that they aren’t l…

Again, I’m a lesbian and less inclined to be politically correct. These dynamics absolutely influence gay relationships, especially those like think/bear relationships and butch/femme relationships. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. It also makes sense because we all grew up watching the same movies and being taught the same ideas of romance. In addition, splitting tasks/roles can be very nice in a relationship. I don’t think it matters who does what, just the splitting itself is g…

It’s not “want”, it’s reality

I’m the more visually feminine one with a tomboy of a gf, but we are both attractive. We would both fare well dating men. The gender roles in our relationship also aren’t as clear cut. That said, you’re not wrong in general lol. There’s a shortage of butch women, so feminine lesbians can end up battling over them and leaving them with tons of options, eventually leading to a hot gf. Not all feminine lesbians want a butch partner, but those of us who do have few options.

Lesbian in a committed relationship chiming in. Yup. Though our gender roles aren’t split as neatly as some on the red pill side

They definitely exist, though you’re right that a lot are “blue pilled” as well. I’m a lesbian. I find that lesbians can often relate to straight men, but with the added problems of being from a stigmatized community (less now but still so), facing harassment and other crap from men, and having a smaller dating pool.

YES lol. I’m a lesbian. How do you think I got here? I can absolutely sympathize with straight men because dating women can frankly suck. I’m decently attractive, and often wish I was bisexual so that I could benefit from the tremendous options that straight and bi women have access to. Note though that I got here specifically because of my experiences in my LTR, not “spinning plates”. I am also purple pill, not red.

This is one of the best ways to explain this problem that I’ve ever heard

You’re both fighting understandably. I’m a lesbian and think I can provide some unique insight because I’ve experienced both of these roles, as well as a blend of them. They’re both hard in different ways. I imagine that it would be even harder if you’re not naturally good at doing something (like remembering doctor’s appointments) but feel stuck doing it because it’s part of your gender role. When you’re taking the typical female role, you can feel kind of disrespected and overwhelmed. Having t…

“Other people having boring long-term relationships” doesn’t make the idea sound better. It’s 2024. We don’t have to stick around if we’re not interested. The market has changed so we have to change to compete.

What’s really going on is that straight and bisexual women have suitors in a way that no other demographic really does. There are tons of straight men and they are very forward. Because of this, straight and bisexual women are very aware of their options. Especially if they are even moderately attractive. Your average woman can open up tinder and get a date for tonight. Your average guy can’t. If he wants a date, he has to put in the work. Even if it happens, he’ll probably have to flirt, plan i…

Not necessarily lukewarm. Just say if the guy is at 9/10 interest and she’s at 10/10 interest

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
