Women co-workers (most bosses) are given flowers and gifts during their birthdays. Co workers the same level as me are also gifted and paraded during their special day. All the men are given a Happy Birthday message in the company chat groups or emails and that's that. No gifts, no cakes, just a Happy Birthday. | 1 | Do women really face discrimination or struggles in the workplace?The only part that I can see a bit discriminating is when they're are pregnant but at the same time trying to apply for a promotion (at least where I work) they are asked or coached to look at their pregnancy first and forego the promotion after their maternity leave. This is so there won't be any disruption in the first place. They are strong albeit competent, but just because the company I work for wants a neutral gender mix (ideal is 50:50 male:female) what happens is we get (40:60 or even less men in management).
