Nice write up. Yes, breathing exercises can definitely change your state. There was another TED talk from a woman on body language, talking about power moves & postures to improve confidence. There is a lot of intersection between psychology, yoga, NLP... back in the early 90s when Tony Robbins was developing his "Personal Power" message, he advocated confident breathing and standing in a "Victorious" posture to improve your state or lift depression; in some ways it's "Fake it till you make it" …

How you "hold" yourself matters... projecting and containing your energy. Posture: Stand erect, not puffing the chest too much, shoulders broad, confident, but not too proud. Comportment - bearing; contained yet open. Countenance - your facial expression; interested, engaged, aware. Bearing - Myself, as a military veteran, we were graded on "military bearing" it was drilled into us. It's a combination of discipline, posture, having your shit together. Your "dress" is "put together"; shirts irone…

Here are some words that come to mind: Posture, Comportment, Countenance. Bearing. The way you move, hold yourself, even walk matters. These are quick non-verbal cues that show people where you're from. I'll go in to more detail in a bit if you're interested, but have to run out for a bit.

I love going to ballet, and modern ballet/dance especially... who doesn't enjoy watching hot, tight, flexible, athletes move in ways that are amazing! But then, maybe I'm holding over my turn-on for my first 8th grade girlfriend who was a dancer, and looked oh-so-good in tights and leotards. Just go, and enjoy, and get your perv on.

Yes, most will assume that if you're "complaining" of pain, that you're looking for sympathy; which is a chickenshit move. You don't need sympathy, but perhaps some understanding. Explaining so someone gains understanding is not complaining, nor is it looking for sympathy. The goal is to position your condition as a challenge, perhaps even a bad hand to have been dealt, but you're a hero for overcoming it. Glad to hear you have a positive attitude and are being proactive. Keep me posted to your …

Hi baaaark, while I agree that you "may have gotten a bad deal" I don't agree that there's nothing you can do about it. i.e. how about treatment? It can be a long road, trying this, and that; but accepting the diagnosis as the final word is a tad defeatist. I mean, if you're heavy (obese) do you just say, "I'm a fatty, and that's okay" or do you get off the couch and exercise and change things? You can do either, you have free will.

Fellow (former, thankfully) chronic pain sufferer, and, well; I'm Reformed_PUA. so I know where you're coming from. You mention "facial" pain; as in your face? Can you elaborate? I mean does it affect your facial mobility and ability to show emotion / facial expression? A couple of other factors: are you just accepting this chronic pain as a permanent thing, or are you in some sort of treatment for pain management / depression? my point here is that you have to be pro-actively trying to improve …

Travel & Adventure can be some of the biggest "game boosters" ever. You're out of your comfort zone to start; you've got nothing to lose, you can't retreat to your home or den... you're just out there. I've met some great people traveling; just like you've experienced: either at a restaurant, bar, hotel, seminar, etc. Stay thirsty my friend.

Just think outside the "coffee" movie box. sure, you gotta meet and get to know each other a bit, but start that first meeting with some fun "get to know you" questions; like: * What's your perfect day look like? * What's something you did when you were a kid that you should have gotten in trouble for (or arrested) but didn't? (exploring her sense of adventure and risk taking) Then... on Day 2 or 3, after some initial comfort is built, and she feels at least safe with you, you can go out on adve…

Hey Amigo, make the switch.. I've dated women from 25 to 55 (I'm 40) in the last year.... I'm just saying.. I much prefer the confidence and experience of women my age or older. It does just keep getting better.. I'll let you know when it doesn't.

We all go through ups and downs. One thing is for sure. Change. Everything, including how you feel is ephemeral. You may be in the depths, but like the Phoenix, you can rise from the ashes. I've been through long dry spells, serious debilitating injuries, divorce, financial ruin, fat & out of shape, and gotten back into shape. Some generally good advice is: "Delete Facebook, hit the gym." You obviously still give a fuck. About life, your art, music, etc. A move may be in order. You have no ties,…

I agree with comments about Salsa, but a couple other dance types are "Night club swing" or "Hustle" - which is 90% of club music (like Katy Perry or Lady Gaga). Hustle gets a bad rap for being "Disco" - but at the end of the night, chicks love disco. Cha Cha is pretty cool in the club too. I've been taking dance lessons for about 6 months, focusing first on Swing, Hustle, Rhumba and Salsa... But have done a bit of Cha Cha, & Tango.. once you learn the basics, you can really go out and enjoy it.…

Not much beyond building comfort and having something fun and different to do.

When I was "playing the game" date 3 was quite often "dinner at my place" - which means you've built up enough comfort that she's cool with coming over to your place. Chances are, on day 2, you had to conveniently "drop by" your place to pick something up, let the dog out, grab a coat, etc. She gets to see you place in a non-threatening way, with a hard exit and time constraint. Builds comfort. So day 3, you cook. It's something you can do together. Something simple, easy, and fun and different.…
