If you post a picture to a website thats your call, and in that instance yeh, its a public place. I think the point is that if I, unknown to you take a picture of you, then post a picture of you to reddit without your consent, I would consider that a breach of privacy.
Well I partly agree with you in that I can see the hypocrisy in denying it to one group of people. However I disagree in that I think it shouldnt be allowed for either.
Yeh, bad choice of words there I admit. I would like to know that, whilst it remains legal to photograph people on the tube because it is a public space, what are the legalities around what you do with those photos?
Its OK for gay men and women to secretly photo men. But not for men to secretly photo women? Personally I feel that taking anyones, men, women, children, redditors, photo secretly and then putting it on a public website violates an individuals privacy.
