I mean we don't have that kind of shit, almost everyone applies from same line, there are few exceptions like nationwide science competitions for high schoolers. The women only part sounds just utterly stupid to me, since I don't know how US school applying system works. But as for the problem they have really deep roots since it's pretty much public opinion that STEM fields are for male only. I can see why really physical demanding jobs are for male only but STEM is pretty much opposite. So ins…

I don't know about US, but in Finland high male percentage fields like engineering have problem of harrasment of women because the stigma is "engineering is only for males" which just enables same problem, less women want to apply to the field. Its endless circle, while I do agree that its unfair that someone gets into education easier than others, we need to look at the justifications and try to find alternative solutions for the problems instead of going in screaming.
