The optimal dating strategy for women is actually not to have sex right away This is wrong for multiple reasons. Firstly, the optimal dating strategy for people in general (of which women are included) is to develop the requisite skillsets necessary to find, identify, attract, and keep a compatible, high value partner. Once capable of recognizing compatibility, investment should be immediately escalated in order to secure this high value partner. Waiting only increases the chances that they will…

A controversial exercise with at best mixed scientific results that is exempt from many official regulatory bodies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somatic_experiencing#Evidence

No and likely not first dates either, most people would balk at such intimate questions coming from a complete stranger

There's no way to make so granular a conclusion, just because OP is fit doesn't mean he has any further leverage towards higher tier partner candidates. OP didn't say they were unattractive, just that he wasn't attracted to them. For any woman to approach for any kind of connection between one night and one century together, at least two factors typically apply: She won't otherwise have a bevy of ideal partner candidates (which is relative) The "approachee" would be desirable enough to be worth …

No, because that same peer disparity exists at all levels. It's relative, not static. The high-powered executive big city woman won't ask out an entry level mechanic in a cheap apartment because he won't have anything much to offer, but for some waitress living out in the sticks, a steady job and his own place is a massive upgrade from any other local partner candidate. So the big fish in a small pond effect also depends greatly on the size of the pond and the relative partner candidate value.

Without more context to your question, it's not really possible to give more actionable advice. Questions that deepen a connection must be substantive and meaningful. You won't get to know someone with only small talk. So it's as simple as offering some lead-in to a private conversation, but don't just read the questions from a list (memorize a few beforehand about topics that are relevant to investing in a connection).

That's less accurate than setting it in relative terms. Women in general don't approach much (if at all). So when they do, they'll tend to aim for an overinvested grand slam that feels like a sure thing (since a lot of women have no experience and thus no practice with being rejected). It's the sniper approach compared to the machine gun approach. Top tier women absolutely will approach men, it's just that the candidate pool for top tier men is minuscule at that strata.

You blow air through your human skin flaps in order to articulate your human brain thoughts. If intimacy seems weird to you, be encouraged to introspect on fears of vulnerability.

Sustained eye contact means two things: you're looking to fight or fuck. It's one of the best ways to escalate either scenario. This is so intrinsic to animal behavior that many other species will pick up on this in human behavior. In the context of escalating an emotional investment, it invites vulnerability. You may have heard of 36 questions that lead to love: https://news.berkeley.edu/2015/02/12/love-in-the-lab/ The crucial part isn't really the questions (although that's important to learni…

Matchmakers have existed for centuries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matchmaking https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dating#Initiation Marriage brokers are necessary societal roles because most human beings are really not better at sexual selection than other animal species who decide the best mate has the brightest feathers, the coolest mating dance, or stacks rocks in the neatest pile. Dating apps are no different. The technology isn't even new, aggregate matchmaking on a technological platform has…

It can also be about confidence and self-esteem and all that too. But it definitely is necessarily about muscle size and definition: Estimates of physical strength determined over 70% of men's bodily attractiveness. Additional analyses showed that tallness and leanness were also favoured, and, along with estimates of physical strength, accounted for 80% of men's bodily attractiveness. Contrary to popular theories of men's physical attractiveness, there was no evidence of a nonlinear effect; the …

This is a good description of the mechanism involved, but it doesn't answer the question of why OP's premise of effective virtue signaling happens. That answer is because mindfulness is a skill and very few people develop the skillsets necessary to be self-aware of behavior, much less invested in learning how to make good behavioral choices. Women in particular settle into the receptive role in human sexual selection where plenty of opportunity accrues just from participating in social spaces ev…

In the same vein, a rabid tiger that gives you a sack of pirate treasure is better than a dog that gives you a stick. The crux of this entirely useless and unrepresentative hypothetical is, of course, how improbable it is to find a wealthy tiger willing to bequeath gold coins rather than eat you.

The brunt of it is absolutely dictated through women's sexual selection criteria. If women wanted nothing more than men who had bright feathers, stacked rocks into neat piles, and sang little ditties around 5AM doing elaborate mating dances then most men would absolutely be doing all of that, right down to intensely competitive minutiae beyond the scope of what most women care about (to wit: jacked roidhogs and truck nuts). It's why bisexual men are so heavily disparaged by some women; in their …

There's a very important qualifier: Risk-prone men vs risk-averse men. Most of the men that approach at all are risk-prone because they have nothing to lose; they'll never get any social interaction otherwise. They typically lack a lot of the traits necessary to pull off cold approaching successfully and, critically, are largely responsible for the public perception of women hating being approached (because women detest ugly and stupid men thinking they have a chance). Most of the men that never…

Devil's advocate: There's an extent survivorship bias here. Consulting sex workers on the importance of physical intimacy to men is like consulting law enforcement officers on the importance of firearm training; it's only relevant when you consider the clientele in question. In the context of game (influencing emotional investment) for women who have already secured long term exclusive commitment, this isn't very practical advice. It's ascribing the symptom (successful relationship) of the patho…
