Can I ask what the signs were that it wasn’t working/you weren’t inspiring commitment? I ask because reading through this thread, I think it’s likely you’re quite attractive… popular college frat boys don’t usually date girls who are beneath them in terms of appearance… but there may be something personality-wise that’s turning them off along the way. RPW has really helped me to focus on my feminine energy and ensure I’m showing up in a way that lowers my partner’s stress and adds to their life.…

I live in a city in the Northeast and the culture around this is pretty different here. The only man I had insist on paying for every date was a Filipino gentleman I briefly dated. He seemed actually offended when I offered to pay, so I stopped offering. I’d say the majority here go 50/50, especially in an established relationship. Personally, I prefer when they pay early on (I take it as a sign of genuine interest) but it doesn’t have to be anything expensive. In a committed relationship, I sti…

I’d say it’s definitely a spectrum. There are also posters from a variety of cultures/nationalities. I’m definitely an urban liberal, but I’ve found RPW to be extremely helpful. It’s really helped me demystify men and dating and cope better with relationship anxiety, knowing I have the tools to navigate hard times.

Hi, OP. I’m unmarried so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I would try to do some gratitude journaling and think hard about your expectations vs. reality and why they are the way they are. I know the grass is always greener, but I’m a year older than you and would LOVE to be married with a baby on the way. Still, I find that writing down what I have to be grateful for goes a long way in making me kinder, not just to myself but the people around me (including my boyfriend).

I’m in my late twenties and many of my close girlfriends have never dated before. A few of them have genuine interest, most of them really don’t. I think for some women, unless you have a sincere desire to be a wife and mother… dating might not be totally worth it. There are many women with strong family and friend bonds who perhaps don’t feel a strong desire to date. I definitely feel in my bones that I WANT a husband, but I also grew up in a traditional family so my experiences have been much …

I think people see “Red Pill” in the name and automatically assume the worst, but I’ve honestly found much more nuanced takes about dating and relationships here than in other relationship-focused subs.

Yeah, I was gonna say that a lot of young men are learning that this is the norm from social media anyways, so it’s hard to blame them. I do feel like it’s a little tacky to ask on the first date. I think it’s different if a woman offers.

To be honest, it doesn’t really sound like you love him… but it’s also hard to provide advice without knowing much more about your romantic history. I’d say one thing to keep in mind is that 1) you guys have only been dating for 6 months, so it’s not like a proposal from him is 100% and I would definitely take that into account when deciding whether or not to continue dating him. It sounds like you both may like each other but feel a little lukewarm to the idea of a long term committed relations…

I will add that I think being able to bring a sense of calm to his life is really important and often overlooked. I see a lot of women complaining that men pick crazies instead of normal girls, but that’s usually one of their first relationships/when they’re much younger. I don’t think most men with options end up marrying very high-strung, demanding women. There is a lovely girl I work with who is getting married soon and I’ve been struck by how calm and collected she is. I think becoming that …

One suggestion, maybe you could teach French online as a way to make money once the baby is here? That’s not really a traditional 9/5.

Yeah, I keep coming back to this thread because I am concerned for OP, TBH. I do think she has to get to the bottom of this. To me, it feels like one part of him wants a traditional marriage where the wife stays home and doesn’t work. The other part of him is annoyed and resentful that he didn’t marry someone as successful than him. That’s not really fair to OP, of course, because she is younger and also now being told to not work. I think the comments suggesting counseling/meeting with their pa…

Personally I see the age difference as potentially problematic given the other factors here. To me, the husband is moving in the direction of wanting to leave her without funds and without options.

Well, I’ll let the other women in the group give you advice as I’ve never been married. But personally, I think his reaction is pretty immature. You’re not a gold digger. You’re his wife and mother of his child.

I am interested to see the other replies here but personally I am nervous for you reading this due to the age difference and the “gold digger” comment which seems to have no basis in reality. I would not be a girl’s girl if I didn’t admit that raises some red flags for me. It’s odd to me that a man would want a traditional household but not actually want to provide. To be clear, it seems like he’s expecting a 50/50 arrangement despite wanting you to not have an income? EDIT: I get why people kee…

Honestly? Yes, you are wasting your time. You both don’t have the same goals and are on completely different pages. Besides that, he’s already told you what he thinks about women… women are gold diggers for wanting marriage?

Personally, I would not overthink a breakup or wait for too long. I’ve been dumped before because I held off from doing it myself. It’s often that if you’re feeling something is wrong with the relationship, they can sense that as well. Respectful in this scenario would be doing it over FaceTime and you can express the fact that you guys have differences in long-term goals. For what it’s worth, the secretive thing would bother me especially with you guys being long distance. I’m not saying he is …

I don’t think you’re unreasonable, and I don’t like how he reacted when you tried to express that boundary… immediately becoming critical and saying you’d have a ton of engagements? Red flag. With that being said, I have noticed A LOT of people in their twenties think you have to live with someone before getting engaged. I don’t personally agree with it, of course, but I feel like it’s something you hear a lot. He might only have this perspective because other people do, but it might be a line i…

Thank you for your reply as well. In hindsight, with the birthday, I did not express explicitly that I wanted him to plan and do something with me. Before we became exclusive, he brought it up a few times that he’d take me to a restaurant of my choice and I just didn’t push on that further, as I believed he’d remember that and make plans. To be fair, I was busy for a few days leading up to my birthday but given he was away the entire weekend, I’m not sure that would have made much difference. He…

I really, really appreciate your reply! I’d say he’s not exactly planning last minute, but usually he follows up with me to make plans around Sunday/Monday each week when honestly I’d rather be able to plan together in person or have more of a pre-determined schedule. It does 100% feel like I’m an after thought and that I’m being slotted in, so I agree that I have to make myself less available. As a woman in my twenties, I also must say that I think this behavior is sort of common with men aroun…

To be honest, I was in a similar situation with my ex and I’m not sure he was ever really serious about marrying me. Marriage came up in our relationship early, but he was always insistent on living together first before a proposal. I tried to ask for a timeline if I agreed to move in together, but he wouldn’t give me one. I also tried to reason with him as I come from a more conservative family where this was looked down upon, and he wouldn’t have it. I’m so glad that I resisted and didn’t move…
