Amazon! I've actually found all kinds of cheap and adorable dresses there like these: Wrap Dress Round Neck Dress Tea Dress These might be too short for you, but there are also lots of longer versions. I also have found cute dresses at Old Navy. They have some adorable gingham ones now, but I haven't seen any floral versions.

I didn't post this in the monthly goals thread, but I wanted to lose 5 pounds this month, and I'm down three! So yay! I'm also working on not having to be "right" in conversations, which is going...less well. I equate "right" with "good," and so not defending my position feels bad, which sounds dumb when I type it out but feels true. I'm hoping it'll get easier with time!

This is also a great point! And I think, first, just acknowledging that he is different than other partners, and that's why I'm dating him (and also why those relationships didn't work). I should work more on celebrating the things he does bring to our relationship instead of this one thing (which is a big thing, yes) that he doesn't. Thanks!

Yes, I think this is very true for him. And I think he gets upset if he can't "fix" my emotions and then feels incompetent, which is neither true nor how I want him to feel!

This is definitely something to think about. I don't know if I want him to share my emotions really. I want him to understand them, understand me. Notice them, notice me. I guess I feel invisible a lot of the time, and when he "dismisses" my feelings, it feels like I'm not even there. And this is NOT him, no. I mean, at least not to the degree I probably feel like it is.

He might be, yes. I think it's more likely that he is repressing this side of himself because he's trying to protect himself. He's awesome with anything he can "do." Like he'll drop everything to take care of something tangible. Once I pulled a muscle in my back, and he took off work without me asking and stayed home to take care of me. Once when we were first dating, I forgot my lunch, and he drove 45 minutes to bring me one (with flowers, too). He really goes above and beyond with this kind of…

It's also stuff like he doesn't ask how my day was or text during the day because he assumes if I have something to say, I will. And he doesn't say thank you for things because he thinks I shouldn't do things if I expect appreciation. I'm making him sound like a dick maybe, and he's not :). Like he loves to cook and makes dinner every night, and I thank him every night, and he doesn't understand why I would thank him for doing something he enjoys doing.

Sure! Like I recently found out I didn't get a job I had applied and interviewed for, and I was pretty disappointed, so I told him that I felt disappointed, and he said, "Well, don't." He's really able to turn any emotion off, so that's his go-to plan for any emotion. Don't feel sad because someone died because it won't help. Don't feel worried about a scary medical appointment because it won't help. He doesn't think emotions help anything so why have them.

Yes! I'd love to facilitate that! I'll messages the mods today and see.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
