This argument makes sense framed this way. One guy has to wait, the other doesn't. So why would anyone bother to wait? Because the man who waits gets more than sex. Copying from my other comment-- Fuck buddies aren't held to the same standard. Would you have the same requirements for a fuck buddy vs LTR, or if she's a thoughtful loving person? No, because you're not investing in her. Chad McFuckbuddy fwb is possibly "hotter" etc. but he doesn't get the love, devotion, affection, monogamy, time, …

I don't get where the double standard for her vs him if he is not expected to give up any fuck buddies of his own? I can't find the "make him wait hopefully sexlessly" part. Any sexlessness she is pushing is refers to their relationship, not what he does with other women to satisfy himself. Assume just for a second that I'm right for the sake of argument--what is "rage inducing and cringeworthy" about a "friends only lead up period"? Getting to know someone for months fairly platonically before …

This person is describing a friends-only lead up period. Nowhere does it say the two are supposed to be monogamous, or that he can't do whatever he chooses on the side. OP is being 100% upfront and honest with her dates. "Say you really want to get to know someone well before moving further...keep it wholesome." She said "make him wait," not "dangle the possibility of sex in his face and torture him." Dating without sex was the norm for a long time The idea with waiting is to a) weed out the men…

Not at all what FDS recommends. They don't say to have sex freely with anyone. It's practically the sub anthem that casual sex is a terrible experience for women (true). During the 3 month (or whatever) wait, the woman isn't having sex either.

"Retrospectively entitled to sex" captures it perfectly

Because "fight with him for no reason" = she didn't just let him get his way 100% of the time

Friendly reminder about a common trip up: being a GOOD person requires introspection and reflection. Most of us know "he didn't mean to hurt me by cheating" is trash behavior. Say you start seeing a guy who is kind to people when he knows he'll never get any sort of reward for it. He needs to vent about work for an hour every time you see him. You feel imposed upon. He claims that he would do the same for you, so assuming he's telling the truth he's upholding his moral standards. If you feel lik…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
