I would start by thinking about the foods you order often so you know what direction you are heading. Pick a few things and master them. If you are on a tight budget cheaper meats (like drumsticks or gravy beef) have different techniques that make them better. Slow cooking can soften up tougher cuts of beef, roasting drumsticks in the oven can boost up the flavour, chicken thigh cooks well in curries etc. Things like sausage are also able to be baked with veggies, cooked in different sauces, squ…

I haven't heard of this but I am intrigued...

Try putting * in the search bar then pressing search then pressing the two little lines with the circles on the top right corner. Choose the watched last 7 days option.

Ours is a little reversed. I was in a relationship from 18 to 21. We were engaged and living together but broke up when he cheated. I got pregnant after we broke up (one of those not quite over each other accidents) but I refused to get back together. I was set up with my husband when my baby was 8 months old. I didn't want to date anyone but my mother said just to go out and have a night off for a change. Well it was some change. Things moved pretty quickly and we were married 14 months later. …

I just completed a short course by The University of York about Behavioural activation for depression. It is meant to be one of the most effective ways to get a handle on it. The idea is basically you set yourself a small pleasurable goal and complete it then rate how it made you feel at the end. And then you set another one. It can be as simple as calling your mum for a chat or having a healthy breakfast.

I often screw up steak but a roast is way easy and is totally delicious. Make a gravy with the pan juices and roast some potatoes and pumpkin. Whatever his favourite greens are and corn on the cob. Bake at home rolls. And then sticky date pudding for dessert. Slow cooked beef is usually pretty safe too. A casserole or stew with dumplings on top isn't the prettiest but is always a winner. Then a crumble for dessert. If you are in Australia or somewhere hot I would skip the warmer dishes. Hubby an…

It's kind of scary putting goals out there into the world. But I will give it a go and see if it helps me stick to them. I aim to ear properly this month. Grazing on junk food all day is no substitute for an actual meal. I would like to lose a little weight and tone my arms a bit. Probably aiming overall to go from 56 down to 54. So progress in that direction. Moving and stretching a little everyday would be good.

I do think the domain thing is super important. In our home parenting decisions are ultimately mine because I I the one who reads the books and does the research. I put so much energy and time into it. My husband is a fantastic involved father but he trusts my judgement.

He does not sound excited for love and having a family in the future. I think this is something that should be present in the beginning of a relationship without having your heart broken and crying until 3Am. There will be men who are excited to meet you and are hoping to find the same things. I think you need to end things with this man who is wasting your time and mistreating you and date a bit more. Set the bar a bit higher and find the man that will move mountains to talk and spend time with…

It depends on mood really and is always said in jest. Sometimes it is my room, my bed, my kids other times its all his. But we always belong to each other.

I admit I was a bit distracted while reading this but I am pretty sure I got my husband on the third floor.

I'm guessing they didn't have children together though? How does he treat/talk about the mother of his children?

I would pay attention to how he treats his ex and what maybe give mind to what caused that relationship to end. Early in a relationship you have all that lovely honeymoon energy. A rush of love hormones and giddiness. Those endearing habits now may well be grating in 6 months time. I got married to my husband 13 months after we met. Engaged in November and married 3 months later. I was 5 weeks pregnant at our wedding. I think that knowing someone a year should be the minimum before trying for a …

I think that routine is the thing that will help the most. I love dresses because its pick one thing and go, although any sort of 'uniform' will help you get ready faster in the morning. Master a basic make up and hair routine too so you can be ready to go anywhere in 5 minutes. A morning cleaning routine and a night one will help to keep the house running and tidy even when things are chaotic. They don't have to take long either. When terrible things have happened doing the bare minimum for a w…

More than a year together and he is just admitting to having a daughter? Would he have even told you now if there wasn't the chance she was coming to live with you? And money is way to important to tolerate lying about. I would never be able to feel secure, safe and comfortable with this man even if I had my own income.

Just keep in mind that being nearly 40 maybe his 'fast track' much slower than yours. 2 months isn't very long even if it feels like it with daily 6 hour phone calls. Maybe ease of the accelerator a bit and wait until you have met in person a few times before you get over invested.

Can I am you to clarify the types of things you are asking him to lead? It also sounds to me like you want your husband to give you some accountability or boundaries and he is just expecting you to do the right thing. I have felt this issue in the past with my husband and its not unreasonable of him to just expect the best of me or for him to think when I am lazy or uncooperative that I would have a good reason. Sometimes I didn't have a good reason at all. If I didn't do something he would just…

Crying was my first thought too. If he is saying hurtful and cruel things and the husband is laughing I am surprised she isn't just bursting into tears already. I think she is protecting herself which is understandable and trying to set boundaries is admirable but at this point her husband needs to step in. Hopefully being vulnerable will trigger his protective instincts and make him step up. I don't think it's manipulative because this behaviour is honestly hurtful. I think smiling along and pr…

I would encourage you to really investigate what living in UAE would be like for you especially in the context of co forming to the Muslim beliefs your partner may expect of you to please his family. I would encourage you to think about what sacrifices you would be making. Your job, your family, your friends. Maybe look at the stories of other women who have chosen this path, both successful and not, to see how it may go for you. And be prepared for greater heart break. He may not want you to go…

Can you use these 2 weeks to get a crash course in cooking? Maybe learn a roux for sauces/gravy, how to roast, pan fry, mash, pancakes/fritters (these are kind of the same) how to crumb, cook rice and pasta, practice veggie prep like dicing an onion and cooking eggs various ways. That should be a good start. So I would make Macaroni & cheese Pancakes Roast chicken and veg (the easiest is stabbed lemon in the cavity) Crumbed pork schnitzel and mash /veg Spaghetti bolognaise Curry (from a jar is f…

said he didn’t mean it he just meant for me to leave the house for awhile so he could calm down because he felt like throwing things also that hopefully it doesn’t get to that point again but that I need to learn when to stop pushing his buttons and leave him alone when he’s angry Laying the groundwork so when he does throw things things he can say it's your fault he already told you you had to leave when he feels like that. I was engaged 9 months in and married 14 months after meeting my husban…

You tube is amazing. Clean my space will teach you so much about the how. There will be a million different people to follow that could teach you how to cook too. On reddit I follow homemaking and I follow cleaning tips. Following threads like this will help you get the ideas in your headline by bit. Frugal and some other finance pages will be useful too. Budgeting is a big part of running a home. More practically I would start by learning to cook things you already like. Crumbed chicken, macaro…

We bought one of those scratch off couple date night books which has been fun. But we only use it sporadically. I think that keeping an eye out for tickets and mentioning the things you would like to do generally in conversation and often might help him get an idea of things to do. We like things like mini golf, swimming, who dunnit dinner theatre, comedy nights, ice skating and tourist things. It might be hard to think of things off the cuff so make a list... you could even sit down either toge…

With husband being out of the house for 12 hours a day during the week I wouldn't expect too much. But on the weekend I would definitely be expecting more. We tend to trade off weekend sleep ins. And when my kids were small I was a fan of the pop to shop. Feed baby and pass him to husband. Tell him you need to pick up xyz and won't be too long. And then stop for some coffee and cake while you are out. Maybe have a browse. It can really save your sanity.

I think that both people with zero relationship experience isn't necessarily perfect. Could easily be a case of the blind leading the blind. An advantage of dating is that you learn how to be in a relationship, how not to lose yourself, how to set boundaries, what your deal breakers are etc. I think you will have luck finding a woman who isn't into hook up culture, and who values sex in the context of a relationship but finding a girl with zero experience in anything? You will likely find that w…

So I think I got this from Jordan Page. She suggests working out all the financial responsibilities-mortgage, different bills, insurance, groceries, school fees, kids clothing, gifts, everything you can think of- then dividing it into a his list and hers list. Then you simply set a budget for each and that's what you get given each month or whatever. It would be your job to keep track and cover all these things, set money aside and what you end up with at the end of the day is yours to spend on …

Its not really blindly trusting him because you know he is competent and you know that he is a man worth trusting. Maybe keeping in mind that your fear is likely adding to his stress and could create the exact scenarios you are hoping to avoid might help you keep it in check. Helping him relax at home will help him have the fortitude to deal with anything that happens at work. Being his cheer leader will help him feel that he has value and may even help him ask for a raise when the timing is rig…

It really sounds like you guys need to sit down and talk about how financials will work before you go any further. Being a stay at home mum requires a massive amount of trust in your partner and their ability to support the family's lifestyle. Right now he is talking 50/50 and this is not something that will work when you come to that bridge. What's the plan there? Who will be responsible for what? In our home all money is family money and we each get an equal weekly "allowance" for personal spe…

Thinking on it some more maybe the Red Pill could considered an antidote to the effects of capitalism on women and families. Women are now expected to want to give as much priority to money and career as men have in the past to the detriment of their families and often their health. Long hours studying and working with less time for relationships and home duties. Working late into pregnancy, returning when the baby is just a few months old. I often see women complaining about burning both ends o…

So I am new around here but I think that the name itself is a bit irrelevant. I think (or I am hoping) that it is a community of women who have found power and happiness in embracing their femininity and who can see value in having a relationship in which they can defer to their partner without feeling like they are losing a battle. I would describe those feminine qualities as gentleness, nurturing, understanding, patience and helpfulness. I think the women here want to hone their skills in comm…

I have achieved an awesome headstand. I have never tried the splits but I am quite flexible. When I started actually classes (to get some time out of the house in the evening) I was already able to easily keep up with the 90 minute class (although at least 20 minutes of this was a cool down meditative ending)

I did yoga with Adrienne for more than a year before I joined a class. It's totally worthwhile and very effective. I also like to use work out apps. Occasionally doing a random YouTube class like belly dancing or boxercising is fun. And aiming for 10000 steps with my tracker helps too especially if I don't have time to stop for a particular activity.
