Not a bit. When im single is when i have my own style in the most real way, only choosing clothes for me myself and I. Its only when im with someone when i want them, specially, to like my look so I care about what they find attractive and lean into it. Once youre in a relationship you only want to be attractive to one person, but when youre single (in my view) you're presenting yourself most authentically

Would hate to think like this. Ive been with my partner three years already and if anything I like him more and more as we grow. Hes my best friend, the relationship is not the honeymoon phase its the awesome partnership you get to experience life with

They want a certain lifestyle where theyre taken care of entirely by a man and given a certain lifestyle so they travel abroad to find men who will do that for them - id say pretty similar to a passport bro

Its not exactly prostitution, the girls are looking for a specific kind of rich man and a lifestyle they want, and so they travel to other countries to find these men because they want a traditional, pays for everything kind of man. Often times the women stay and marry them too to keep living that way. Id say its pretty similr

Sort of -- its not quite the same, but girls who go to dubai and greece and stuff just to sit on random rich mens yachts for the lifestyle but have sex with all the men to sort of "pay" for it id say is pretty similar

i just think its either i judge him and shut him down and he resents me for it, and we break up a few years down the line because he'll still be curious about it and not be ready to settle down, or i try and step out of myself and have some empathy, let him grow as a person without losing me, and if it helps things then we're way better for it, and if we break up because of how it goes, then we're not wasting each others time (it did in fact end up being the right choice, could not be in a bette…

no, not if you both agreed he'd have a period to try openness and he was honest the entire time about where he was and what he was doing, and was willing to reflect on each instance and how it made him feel with the direct purpose of trying to understand himself better and be a better partner. more people don't give their partner's any empathy, and leave them the second they're honest about uncomfortable things. im not about to let a good thing go or ask anyone to censor themselves, especially n…

nah, he;s pretty great, and our relationship is better than any i could have ever imagined (now). that's why i say in response to OP that i think this rhetoric is BAD for men but doesn't make them ambivalent to sex but rather obsessive with the idea of it. they can have everything, but if this discourse gets into their heads they don't feel satisfied.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:51 AM

he never cheated on me, cheating is lies and breaking trust, we set out clear boundaries and methods for how it would work and he never once overstepped. the problems were 'im having these thoughts and insecurities and curiosities', and when someone comes to you with that you can either judge them and shut them down or listen to them and see if you can move forward together. when someone is a real partner, you have to take all of them, not just the parts that align with what you hope to see
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:45 AM

if he weren't so literally perfect in every other way i would never have stood for it, but as it happens he's my best friend and i wanted to look at his problems as a friend, not just a girlfriend, and think about what may actually serve our relationship in the long run. tell him to shut it down, and have it be a tense point that makes us break up in 3 years because he never got to do those things? or figure out a way to explore it now and see if it makes or breaks us? the answer was clear
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:42 AM

because he's my best friend, and stepping back from my own ego and looking at his problems, I wanted to do for him what I would do for a friend. we made it work for our relationship, and now our relationship is better
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:34 AM

well the boundaries were 'no actual dates', 'no phone numbers', 'no seeing someone more than once', specifically to avoid any sort of romantic or intimate connection. you want a tinder hookup, fine. you want to go to a club with your friends and try to get lucky, fine. those things are so far removed from meaningful, emotional connection (which is the real thing that is imo sacred in a relationship) that i didn't feel threatened at all. the only real threat to my own security is like 'f*ck what …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:33 AM

yeah -- we had to do some long distance and so we made some boundaries and i let him go. it was really toxic when he was struggling to shut down his curiosity, and i snapped and was like 'what do you want, you need to figure out what you want', and so we came up with a way for him to figure it out within some bounds that would not totally kill me, and it did in fact sate his curiosity, make him more secure, and our relationship is about a million times stronger and healthier now
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:29 AM

yes, and its a bit more than a year now since it first came up, he slept with 5 women when we were long distance, and now it literally never comes up, and he seems way way more confident in himself and secure just focusing on our relationship. it was weirdly definitely the right thing to do in the end, things could not be better
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:01 AM

it was tough -- i didn't understand at all why he felt like there was this huge unanswered question, this lack of self-certainty, but turns out he'd spent too much time in these circles where people kind of put their selfworth on their position in the 'sexual marketplace' and he felt that he never got to explore that. but they say if its right it comes back to you and if a person is obsessed with the idea of something its not going to go away just because they get something else. i think its bad…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 10:17 AM

its just how it is -- it was on his mind a lot and we talked about it and it was hard but when we do long distance now there's an element of openness for him (under some specific boundaries) (also its 'for him' because i have no interest and none of these insecurities) when we got together he was for the first time able to/ wanting to have 'hoe phase' but we met and it was perfect, but he never got the chance to really be out and young and try to pull. this idea that its super hard to get women …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 10:11 AM

nope. i have sex with my boyfriend every day and he still wonders how many women he could potentially get outside of our relationship. I think the lack of sexual access for men makes them more obsessed with finding it

I find it more common that women are ghosted for personality things, like what they say/do that eventually turns a guy who was otherwise willing off

agreed. they'll say they have certain standards but when it comes down to it, even if they're entirely unnattracted to a woman, if she's willing to sleep with him, he'll use her for sex 99% of the time.

If you see a girl youre not into, youre suddenly into her bacuse she flatters you? I do seriously doubt this

Be honest, if you see a girl you find unattractive on first glance and she hits on you, are you just giving HER a chance because? Or are you not into it?

i definitely disagree. where do men get this impression that women post a selfie and have model men validating them? if anything, most women's social media usage damages their self confidence, it doesn't inflate their egos. the only women who get tons and tons of validation on social media are already hot and get it in the real world, too. hot women get random validation from random thirsty guys at every bar they go to, social media or no. most women definitely know they are not getting with mod…

this is a great point! porn consumption is bad for single men AND men in relationships, whereas a woman being single and having access to dating apps is...... a single woman being single.... :p

this implies that men don't use social media/aren't affected by it in all the same ways women are?

'Now on the other hand women are using technology that gives them access to men in a 50 mile radius where they are laser swiping left' Men have all the exact same access to these apps that women do? your post implies that all men have 0 access to dating apps, but they are just as 'overexposed to choice' as women are? Why say 'women are using technology that....', when it is literally both men and women on these apps, both being exposed to way more people they would ever meet in real life, and bo…

I think this comes from the fact that it's embarrassing to be cheated on , it makes people look at you and wonder "why, what did they do wrong, whats wrong with them?" Especially if you are an attractive person, if your partner steps out on you it does imply some sort of thing is lacking in you (which it Should'nt, all it should only say that the person who did it is unfaithful and a cheat, but yeah i would say that despite it being ridiculous the victim does not come out unscathed)
