Absolutes are shared here and some people stick to them like it's their religion. I think of advice given as guidelines, after all, people here are only human and are not capable of boiling life down to pure truths like they claim to. The best advice I ever got was don't listen to anybody's advice. It's about being a man and making your own decisions.

Who said he didn't "get fucked over"? The advice about not getting into any type of relationship until you've slept with 20 different girls is ridiculous. There is a lot to be learned by regularly talking with the same woman. You get more experience with a variety of tests and you get better at sex. You actually learn how to handle a relationship and can understand the pros and cons through experience. To claim that you can't even spin a plate until you've slept with 20 girls is just a flex for …

I have a roommate who I'm pretty sure reads trp. But he just takes it in way too much and talks about "dominating" women and punishing them with simple things like this when he doesn't get his way. His ego is clearly fragile and he needs to not only feel superior but let others know he feels that way to boost his ego. Fucking annoying.

Fat software engineers you call losers and keeping products afloat and are definitely earning over 200k per year well before they hit thirty.

Definitely a bad piece of advice I see here a lot. Emoticons can add context to what you're saying. Many texts I send, without them, would be deal breakers and extremely rude because it's difficult to communicate sarcasm over short texts. The smiley puts it all in a different context

Is omega supposed to be like indifferent? In wolf packs we refer to the omega as the absolute bottom bitch, like the lowest form of beta. All of the beta wolves will literally group together and pick on that one animal. Warning nature takes place: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kTdaWUDeGsg

This person has no idea what its like to learn how to program on your own. online resource to learn how to write source code for programming source code for programming, idk it just seems like a sentence my father might construct. (the added words make it seem like he is trying to make his understanding seem richer than it really is) Just because resources exist does not mean that reading through and applying all principles is easy. You can find literally any textbook/novel/encyclopedia you want…

Strict RP, by the books, formulaic, in theory... Why does any of that matter? Chances are this sub is wrong about some things, and some things aren't necessary. This is just a natural observance and it went pretty well

From a kissing virgin to bored with women in just a few months? Skeptical about that. You might be bored with one woman which makes sense but to say you've tried it all with a variety of women is probably a lie and something which you should probably experience

This is complete bullshit. Me: "Of course you are. Only an Arsenal fan could have such a faint grasp of time and punctuality." When the call ends, i stand there and look at the lake, smoking and thinking about how nature truly is beautiful. "Do you not like me?" Naomi had silently made her way beside me (thinking about how nature is truly beautiful lol) This entire thing reads like a 14 year old wrote it. Honestly, who throws a comment like "faint grasp of time and punctuality" into conversation…

Idk. Look at the length of the post and how shallow the topic is. It has gone too far

Screams insecurity. Getting spray tans and controlling water retention for a picture... If you have this mentality then how can you ever relax when there is a camera around? Someone might post that picture of you! You are always worried about how others view you, you are always thinking about the image you are reflecting. You are always looking within. When people are around the guy who is always too introspective, they never have any fun. He is more likely to absorb negative criticism and is al…

When people say "just be yourself" its with the assumption that one's confidence will increase, that they will become more assertive and comfortable demanding what they want, that they will begin to impose their will on the world around them, basically that they will become more alpha. I don't think that message always gets across though. Not everybody is naturally assertive.

Anybody that understands set notation will realize this makes no sense.

Oops. I was comparing total compensation for SE 2 and salary of staff engineer (or acceptable top out at most companies, usually 8-10 years to get to this level). The actual compensation is closer to 350k. I'm certain one could raise their salary more quickly if they kept themselves on the job market and changed positions every couple years to further raise their compensation. Also as it was mentioned earlier, tech companies operate largely on meritocracy. So its possible to get there in 4-6 yea…

Instead of programmers consider software engineers. A fresh graduate on the west coast (not necessarily Cali) or in NY can achieve salaries > 100k just starting. But the total compensation is closer to 140k when considering RSU and bonuses. This only increases and by 30's you could be pulling 200k in total compensation.
