Ok well it's good you found something you can relate to. I can't tell you whats right for you. I can say that if you want to represent the relationship accurately you might try to think of the reasons you wanted to split. Put yourself in that place you were a month ago. Write down the reasons. Write down some of the worst memories, etc. Don't get sucked into that "if I would have done (X, Y, Z) differently then maybe things would be different" trap. Because on the one hand, yeah things would be …

A separation is a loss so your feelings are natural. Reality is that being alone is going to be hard for a while. Dating may seem daunting at first. If you weren't happy most of the time I think that's your answer. I mean do you see your unhappiness changing if you were to stay together? It's also common for people to go through an idealization phase after a break up. So maybe initially you feel good about it or maybe you feel sad for a bit then good. But then you start thinking back and you onl…

I was gonna say if you were a younger man you may want to try not to be so cynical at an early age but you have some experience under your belt. So what's your story? You had a bad experience and get divorced?

How old are you? I think men can find happiness with women but they have to learn to be very picky and they have to learn to really be able to spot warning signs and be willing to end relationships when they see warning signs. At the same time, I don't think it's a wise decision to get married. Not in the west.

It's weird...My parents argued but their relationship wasn't like this. This is different.

I'm still in...I appreciate your validation and kind words. The worst part is that there are good times and the good times make you second guess whether it's really that bad. This is typical in a trauma bond or abusive relationship. I'm working on it.

The 'more' thing does seem true. Like why does the kitchen need to be redone? Why do we have to have new floors when we have nice floors? Why can't we just be happy with what we have?

Red flags are serious and do indicate a serious potential for future problems. You can identify red flags but then you ignore them. Maybe you want to believe in people and give them a second chance and that's not a bad thing but it will also lead to dealing with the same thing over and over, especially when the behavior isn't really acknowledged. The thing that relates to this is that you assume that because someone genuinely cares for you that they will work towards handling conflict in a produ…

Man...this just makes me so sad. Part of it is that she actually asked you what was bothering you. Like that's how a relationship should be even if you aren't getting along or aren't compatible. It seems like she cares. If I bring up anything that bothers me it's immediate defensiveness followed by projection and blame...like every time. I can't even share how I feel and have an honest conversation because it will be twisted and used against me. All I wanted was a nice happy relationship and I k…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
