While I don't find this story quite as cringeworthy as everyone else, I doubt I would end up in bed with this dude. It really stuck out to me that OP seems to think that a) women will be exceedingly surprised at not having drinks purchased for them (I am reasonably attractive, go to bars frequently, and talk to plenty of strangers there - and I've been bought maybe 5-10 drinks in my life. It is certainly not expected by me or any other woman I know) and b) that women will be extremely and consci…

Seriously. The percentage of men I know who would prefer to date/fuck an east Asian woman, all else being equal, is staggering. I'm always a little surprised that Indian men rank so low on these lists, but that's probably my own personal bias speaking since I'm way into brown guys.

Agree with your first part. I'd be flattered no matter how (un)attractive the person was but if the interest wasn't mutual I'd have to grit my teeth a little waiting for the moment when I'd have to shoot them down or whatever. As for the rating scale, was that fucking Ryan Gosling listed as a 7?? Honestly I thought all the 7s were the hottest guys in the chart apart from number 2 on the 9s row. If I were to pursue any man on the chart it would be the second one of the 7s.

Interesting. I have seen essentially zero evidence of this in my life, and it's one of the biggest reasons I'm not red.

Must be male. Must be no shorter than 5'6 (I'm 5'8). Must enjoy my sense of humor, and I must enjoy his. Must be monogamous while in a relationship with me, and have no history of cheating. Must be sexually compatible with me. Must be physically attractive to me (I can't narrow this one down much further since I'm attracted to many different types, but I'd say the closest traits to mandatory are: not morbidly obese, although I'm ok with chubby, not significantly lighter than I am weightwise, no …

I'm not sure I get the last part. There are plenty of very short men I find extremely attractive and would have sex with. I just wouldn't date them, same as you. I don't think there's a difference between us there.

I see your point. A couple clarifications though: first, I certainly never told him anything on the topic of my height preferences, and second, I don't really care how tall a guy is as long as they aren't vastly shorter than I am. Its not like 6'4 is significantly more attractive to me than 5'10. I didn't have a problem with that guy's height at all. I'm curious, would you date a taller woman? How much taller?

I'm not really into any of them, but Rubio gets some points for being younger than the rest (although I'm not really into his look). GWB is kind of oddly hot and I have a weird thing for the evil elf vibe Cruz has goin on. Carson doesn't do anything for me but he's not a bad looking dude for his age. Trump and Christie just look awful. They are fat and have unattractive facial features. Jeb is totally unremarkable. I would not bang any of these gentlemen but if I HAD to pick one I think George B…

I'm 5'8. I've had six boyfriends, who I'd say were roughly 5'10, 5'9, 5'7, 6'3, 5'8, and 6'2 (in that order). I find tall men attractive and all else being equal would prefer to date a tall man. I probably wouldn't date a guy more than a couple of inches shorter than I am, although I will say that the 5'7 guy seemed much more concerned about our (small) height difference than I ever was.

I agree with this post 100%. Some ugly guy with no charisma sure as hell isn't going to start getting laid just because he stops writing his crush love poems and starts treating her like a dick instead. You need to be at least kind of attractive and have kind of a good personality first (funny, charming, something); those are almost minimum requirements. It's always a little eyerolling to me when guys go "treating girls like fairytale princesses out of nowhere isn't getting my dick wet, so the s…

Oh I'm certainly not trying to suggest that there aren't "types" which are more universally seen as attractive than others. I agree that there are. I'm trying to say (not particularly eloquently, I guess) that if you show your buddy a picture of a woman you think is a 10/10, I'd bet money that he'll at least consider her a 7 or 8. When I show my female friends pictures of guys I think are 10/10 (or vice versa) more often than not there is just no attraction whatsoever. I made a thread about it a…

I'll grant that there is a small subset of women who are willing to date/commit to a man they aren't particularly attracted to in exchange for resources (most commonly in the form of gold diggers). Personally I think this dynamic is vastly, vastly exaggerated by TRP. I would never in a billion years date or sleep with a man I wasn't physically attracted to no matter how many "resources" he was offering, and nor would any woman I know. The idea of being with a man I find unattractive is just visc…

This has been my experience as well. In fact, I can't think of anyone I know who is currently in a relationship where the guy is hotter than the woman. They're either so close to the same level of attractiveness that it's impossible to really make the call, or the woman is hotter.

That female 9s and 10s are getting laid, ever? Are you arguing that they don't?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/15 08:05 PM

Ok, based on what? I'm a woman and I can assure you I would not ever sleep with a man I didn't actively want to sleep with. I find some men more attractive than others, sure. Everybody finds some people more attractive than others. There are some men I would fuck but not date, sure. Surely there are some women you would fuck but not date as well. These categories you've made up seem really arbitrary, like you're trying to force a difference between the sexes where there isn't really one (in that…

Who are the female 10s with? No matter how you slice it, they're sleeping with somebody.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/15 07:50 PM

I might agree that an average man would be willing to sleep with/date a higher percentage of women than vice versa. However, I think there's an equalizing factor, which is that the pool of women men are willing to fuck (or whatever) is pretty much made up all of the same ones, whereas the pool of men women are willing to fuck (again, or whatever) is pretty widely varied depending on the individual. If three men sat down with 10 pictures of women, they might all be willing to have sex with 6 of t…

I mean... we have to further quantify it somehow, or else the argument becomes "women mostly want to fuck men that women want to fuck."

Just to be clear, when you say "attractive" you're talking about SMV as a whole and not purely physical attractiveness, yes? Because it seems to be a pretty widely accepted concept among both pills that women's attraction toward men is less visual than the reverse, which should (and does, in my experience) logically lead to a predominance of couples where the woman is more physically attractive than the man. I'd be very willing to hear an argument that the majority of couples involve a man whose…

So women are inherently no more hypergamous than men, they just have more opportunities to exercise hypergamy?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/15 06:58 PM

I always feel like some wires are getting crossed in the hypergamy discussions. This is what I'm hearing: Men are attracted to women all across the spectrum, as long as they meet a minimum standard of attractiveness (read: men will happily sleep with any woman who's not actively offputting) Women are only attracted to the absolute hottest/best men (read: women want to get married to the most attractive man they can land) Well, yeah, duh. Clearly the stakes are higher for a woman when you frame i…

I also feel this way to a certain extent, but I rarely bring it up in this sub because I don't think my negative reaction is nearly as extreme/pronounced as most Red Pillers' seem to be in the opposite scenario (and because I can't really defend it). Ideally I'd prefer a man with 1-10 previous sexual partners, but dealbreaker territory doesn't start until 50 or so for me.

Honestly, yes, I think it is largely the tone that puts me off. I certainly have my issues with TRP aside from tone (I think they generalize far too much and vastly downplay how common "exceptions" or outliers are while overstating the significance of subtle differences, they have a horribly skewed notion of how important a man's money is to an average woman, etc) but I do agree with a lot of what they say. However I find it silly that they simultaneously want to be taken super duper seriously w…

Not necessarily true. I frequently fantasize about getting raped by unattractive/low status men, and if you take a look at relevant erotica subgenres you'll find that there are plenty of stories about nonconsensual sex with ugly robbers in home invasion scenarios and the like. For me the dominance/degradation is the primary focus; getting "raped" by a sexy, high status man is less hot, not more, because it feels less degrading or whatever.

I personally would totally do the 10/10 instead of the 5/10 with money but I understand that there are exceptions I don't doubt that. I would also rather do the 10/10 instead of the 5/10 with money, in a heartbeat. I would rather do the 6/10 than the 5/10 with money - but I would rather do the interesting 5/10 than the boring 6/10, whether they had money or not. You're absolutely right that money opens a lot of doors and makes it easier to be interesting and attractive, but it's also extremely p…

I agree with everything you wrote, including the part about women being turned off by men who are unemployed and have no other cash flow. I am not interested in being supported by a man, and I am not interested in supporting one.

I have not dated anybody particularly rich (nor do I really want to), so I can't speak to this. Maybe you're correct. Do you think that most women date rich men in their youth? I don't know anybody who has, as far as I know. Most people I surround myself with make probably $20-60k per year, and for the most part I can only guess at which are which based on the (sometimes little) I know about their jobs, because we all live very normal and not-at-all-flashy lifestyles.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/15 10:03 PM

Maybe TRP is just describing different people than the ones I come across in my social circles then? Most men I know are not looking for a stay at home wife, and most women I know are not interested in becoming one. I can definitely see how it would be a much greater factor if this was a common expectation/arrangement in my circles.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/15 10:00 PM

That's true. Money also makes it easier for women to be attractive, though. This is maybe a topic for a different thread, but another place I can't quite come to terms with TRP beliefs is in the common assertion that men need to be interesting to appeal to women, while women just need to be hot. I think the vast majority of men would absolutely prefer a woman with interesting experiences, an interesting lifestyle, and interesting hobbies. FWIW I also don't think there are as many women who place…

Hahah I had to reverse image search the guy in the second picture (Bastian Schweinsteiger for anyone else who's curious) to check his age. Turns out he's 30, so I can't really take issue with your choice of picture, but that dude looks 45. If you told me he was 55 I'd probably believe you.

The money thing has always confused me. To back up a little, I totally get the status idea as a whole. Sure, charismatic guys with cool jobs (not necessarily high-paying ones, though) and interesting hobbies are definitely more attractive than their cardboard-personality counterparts with boring jobs and lame (or no) hobbies, all else being equal. (FWIW, I think TRP tends to exaggerate the difference in importance of these things between men and women. Of course women like that stuff, but I don'…

I don't disagree with you, and you made me realize that I perhaps worded my original post badly to inadvertently imply that your average woman will be attracted to a higher percentage of men than vice versa. That's not what I meant. I meant... what you said. To reword, my theory here is that there is no real "top 20%" of men who would be considered universally (or nearly universally) attractive by women, because our tastes are so diverse. This is my PPD/gender issues throwaway so I haven't logged on here in... 26 days apparently and didn't see your response til now. Forgive me for belated reply. But yeah, trimmed hair would give you (I think) objectively a 6 and for me an 8. Farmer, machine shop work, and "farm strong" solidify that if there was any doubt.

26-y/o straight female. I'd say you're a 5-ish if I'm attempting to be objective, but you're my type enough that I'd subjectively give you more like a 7. I like the beard. No quibble about the weight (I'd take a chubby dude over a ripped one any day- I think this is a less uncommon view than TRP believes). You should trim up your hair, though.

Right right, aka "it could never be women, it's gotta be you!" As an uninvolved third party who has never met you - yeah, it seems much likelier that the source of the issues is you (one guy) as opposed to all women.

This is an extremely reasonable and measured response. If I saw more of this kind of thing out of TRP I'd probably end up swinging from blue-purple to red-purple.

I see what you're saying. I think one theme this subreddit returns to over and over again is whether the Red Pill ought to be defined proscriptively or descriptively; that is, is The Red Pill as a philosophy, a movement, an entity, whatever you'd like to call it, most accurately defined in terms of what it claims to promote (core tenets, required readings, etc) or in terms of what its members overwhelmingly do promote? I think Red Pillers tend to fall on the proscriptive side, creating a conveni…

The way rape cases are often dealt with (at least in the media, and the circles I run in; I'll admit up front that I don't spend much time researching this stuff on my own time) is one of the reasons I'm Purple rather than Blue. There are some real issues re: rape accusations brought up on both sides of the table and I empathize to a great extent with both. On one hand: I agree with the OP that TRP sometimes advocates what I consider immoral behavior in pursuit of women. On the other hand: I disagree with OP that the question this brings up is "isn't all sexual strategy, rape included, amoral according to the Red Pill?" I don't think "sexual strategy is amoral" is in any way meant to suggest that literally nothing that can be done in pursuit of sex is immoral. I am also a 5'8 woman. I'm happy to admit I like tall guys, but short ones definitely don't seem any more interested in me than I am in them. My shortest boyfriend (who was 5'7) had a much bigger issue with our relative heights than I did. Despite being an otherwise very secure, stable type of dude, he hated it if we were even standing on not-quite-level ground or something, anything that would exaggerate the difference was not cool with him.

While I'd consider myself purple-learning BP, I didn't write my post in support of either pill. Just a correction of an assumption the OP made, which was that all women with rape fantasies want to be more or less ravished by a man who is in some way attractive to them (be it good looks, money, status, animal magnetism, something). That does not, as I said, describe my own fantasies, in which I can assure you I am not imagining high-value men in any sense of the word.

Eh, ravishment isn't really my thing. I don't want to be seduced, I want to be raped (fantasy raped, that is). There's some grey area there, for example in erotic fiction, where a lot of the stuff billed as non-consensual is really more a sexy, confident dude convincing a girl that she wants to sleep with him, and it turns out that he's awakening a desire in her that she had all along and they have mutually passionate sex. This exactly. I completely agree with the common (Red Pill and otherwise) assertion that it's easier for women to get laid. I don't hate Red Pillers. I roll my eyes a little at some of the more extreme examples of bromanship and back-patting, that's about it. I tend to agree with certain aspects of TRP, and I can see why people find it a useful way of looking at gender relations. I am a straight, blue pill woman (well, 80% blue pill, 20% red). I support trans rights fully and would see them no differently as friends, coworkers, acquaintances, bosses, in-laws, etc than cis people. That said, I think it's unlikely I would be interested in sleeping with (or having a LTR with) a transgender individual. I'm a 26 year old woman. The first thing I'd strike off your list is 80k a year, and I believe many, possibly the majority, of my similarly-aged peers would do the same. I've never dated a guy who made that much and I don't care if I ever do; in fact, at this stage in my life, I have a marginal preference for a partner who makes roughly the same amount I do, although income is really all but a non-issue for me in a relationship. Once you take out that piece, there's nothing particularly difficul…

I'll reply in greater depth later (on my way somewhere) but for now I just wanted to clarify that "I'm trying to put this in terms that will resonate with you" was not intended as snark. I meant exactly what I said; I was attempting to describe what I understand to be the ideal man from a TRP perspective, which is not the same as my own, and the least desirable woman from a TRP perspective, also not my own.

Women, on average, can have sex much, much easier than guys have. A slut shows that she has no self-control because she is having sex with many, many guys. She is acting on her emotions/desires/hormones without restraining herself. Okay... I'll tentatively agree that it's easier for your average woman to get laid than your average man. You still haven't even approached an answer to why women having sex is a bad thing, or something we should assign a moral value to. Plenty of people do plenty of …

I'll be the first to admit that I do prefer taller men. I'm relatively tall for a woman myself, at 5'8. Still, I've only ever had one boyfriend taller than six feet; the rest were all in the 5'7-5'10 range, and it's not like I was thinking "oooh I wish he were taller" the whole time. For OP: I don't think there's anything anti-feminist about having a preference about your partner's physical characteristics? Everyone has preferences, some more common than others. Come on. Edit: For what it's wort…

At the risk of being a sarcastic ass, you'll have to forgive men like me for wanting a woman that treats giving up her body as a little bit special and not just something you do when you get in x situation with y number of drinks and z number of penises around. Great, explain why this doesn't apply to men. A guy sleeping with a ton of women is treating his body as "special" but a woman who sleeps with a ton of men isn't? Because it's harder for guys? How is that relevant? If anything, as I said …

An impulsive pussy fiend that has never been able to control himself around females makes for a terrible LTR. I no want. How does that statement make any less sense? Why praise men for sleeping around and look down on women for doing the same? Why is this pussy-loving dude getting fistbumps and backpats while the dick-loving girl is getting frowned at and called a slut? On top of which, if you buy into the idea that women have a vastly easier time getting laid than men, wouldn't the man in my in…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
