As long as he used the word in that way, sure. The point is, a speaker gets to define the sense in which they are using a word. If a second person makes a counter-argument using the word in a different sense, they are committing the fallacy of equivocation. Tell him he's a male rights activist. He's a feminist activist. Feminism means supporting equal rights for all genders. Male is a gender. Therefore, he is an activist for equal rights for men.

Most adults also lack the necessary judgement to consent to sex. We should just own up to it as a society that we have these laws just because we don't want our teenage children to have sex. The idea that there is a specific age that this mental incapacity turns on and off is simply infeasible.
