There are laws against such kinds of retaliation. If you have a lease signed for x months they can't increase your rate until that time has expired. They could afterwards though. If you're able to make friends with other office managers in the building and can show that your rate was increased more than others, then you have grounds for suing the building owner again for retaliation.
