I'm 36. This is an irrelevant question. You can't take the sum total of someone's life and boil it down to one individual attribute. If I had a better rapport with the party girl, then I would choose her and to hell with how many people she's slept with. If I had a better connection with the virgin, I would choose her. It's her personality that matters most. Does she like my goofball humor? Is she smart enough to carry a lengthy conversation? Is she comfortable with someone who defies a lot of…

The systemic bias in favour of men is a robust finding and well-supported by a large body of research. I have shared several articles on this subject elsewhere in this thread.

I would say that while there are some areas where men are hurt or devalued by gender-bias, overall, it is women who are harmed the most. I don't believe you've sufficiently demonstrated that men's opinions of women make them easier to manipulate.

It's not cherry picking to cite actual sources, and the primary difference here is that I actually READ the studies I share. Let's go through yours one by one. The first one about family court. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/04/180419141541.htm If you carefully read the the text, you'll note that it does NOT say or imply that women get some kind of advantage in family court. What it says is that judges are more biased toward traditional gender roles than they would like to believe. N…

Except that men devaluing women is born out by the research. Here's a Gallup Pole indicating that there are more Americans who want sons than there are who want daughters. https://news.gallup.com/poll/148187/Americans-Prefer-Boys-Girls-1941.aspx?utm_source=alert&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=syndication&utm_content=morelink&utm_term=USA Here's a study indicating that men are more likely to take paternal leave when their child is a boy. https://www.nber.org/papers/w21747 Evidence of gende…

Wait, hold on. You're gonna have to do a LOT more work to support your point. From a very young age, boys are taught to dehumanize and devalue girls. Boys are taught that girls are weak, that liking "girly" things makes them weak, that women owe them certain levels of deference based simply on the fact that they are boys. I see no reason to conclude that women have a society-wide power advantage in intimate relationships.

No...it's not. That's just male insecurity.

Well, for starters, you're not a used up old slut. You're a person who made decisions that were probably the right decisions at the time (even if you regret some of them now). This includes the men you dated/slept with. I'm 36 and tempted to ask out a 46 year old woman. Age doesn't matter to everyone. I suspect it doesn't matter to most people. It's just a lot of people have insecurity about turning 30. Everyone goes through dry spells. Give it time. You will meet someone.

This discussion is silly. It starts with the assumption that women see a potential partner as a list of boxes you can check off. Handsome, check. Intelligent, check. Funny, check. And so forth. While everyone - men, NBs and women alike - have certain qualities they want in a partner, very few approach it as a checklist and almost no one sees it as a gaming strategy where they try to "maximize value." People meet, they form emotional connections - often for reasons that a hard to articulate - and…
