Personally, I don't really care if they want a gender neutral anthem. The part about "in all thy sons command" was added during WW1. The problem I have is that the text they replaced it with is cumbersome.They could have at least spent more time on that. You think that is bad? Try the army's affirmative action. They need to hire more women (Canadian Army, anyway, but it looks like a lot of other countries, too). So think of the coders as combat arms (infantry, artillery, armor, engineers) and the soft skills as women in admin, supply, comms. I was an Ontario Elementary Teacher with a comp sci diploma and hist degree, I know there are between 15 and 20% male elementary teachers in the Public and Catholic boards, so I really don't get this. The Peel Board (Toronto) had stated they were trying to hire more male and visible minority teachers. It sucked enough when I taught and became the target of everything bad about men because I was the only one, but this? Well, I guess male teachers aren't wanted (I am glad I am not one anymore).

Former elementary male teacher here. Boys need physical activity, plain and simple. When I taught, their attention span was about 20 minutes, girls it was longer.
